oṃ namaḥ śivāya
Meaning: Salutations to Śiva — the auspicious one; the five-syllable (pañcākṣara) mantra.
त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात्
tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam | urvārukamiva bandhanānmṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt
Meaning: We worship the three-eyed Lord who nourishes all beings; may he free us from death as a ripe cucumber is freed from its stem — for immortality, not bondage.
कर्पूरगौरं करुणावतारं संसारसारं भुजगेन्द्रहारम् । सदा वसन्तं हृदयारविन्दे भवं भवानीसहितं नमामि ॥
karpūragauraṃ karuṇāvatāraṃ saṃsārasāraṃ bhujagendrahāram | sadā vasantaṃ hṛdayāravinde bhavaṃ bhavānīsahitaṃ namāmi ||
Meaning: White as camphor, compassion incarnate, the essence of existence, wreathed in the king of serpents; ever dwelling in the lotus of the heart — I bow to Śiva with Bhavānī.
