Overview
Srirangam is a river-island town in Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, set between the Kaveri and its branches. It is home to the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, the foremost of the 108 Divya Desams and often described as the largest functioning Hindu temple complex in the world, with seven enclosures and 21 gopurams. The philosopher Ramanuja lived and taught here.
