Long ago there lived a gentle poet named Tulsidas. He loved Lord Rāma with all his heart, and he loved to say Rāma’s name softly, again and again. In those days, the wonderful story of Rāma was written in big, hard words that only a few people could read. Tulsidas felt sad about this. “Everyone should be able to hear about kind Rāma!” he thought. So he wrote the whole story again, in simple, sweet words that mothers, children, and farmers could all understand and sing. People were so happy! Now they could share Rāma’s story in their own homes. Tulsidas gave the gift of a beautiful story to everyone, big and small.
Sharing what we love makes it grow even bigger.
