Shravana loved his mother and father very much.

Shravana loved his mother and father very much. They were old and could not see, so Shravana looked after them every single day. One day they said, “We wish to see the holy rivers and temples.” But how could they travel so far? Clever, kind Shravana made a special seat. He placed his mother on one side and his father on the other, lifted the pole onto his shoulders, and set off! Over hills and through forests he walked, singing softly so they would not be afraid. He never grumbled, not even once. Seeing his parents happy made his heart happy too. Everyone who saw him smiled and said, “What a loving son!”
