A wise teacher named Vyāsa had a huge, wonderful story in his heart — the longest story ever! But it was too big to write all by himself. “I need a special helper,” he said. So he asked clever Ganesha. “I will write it,” said Ganesha, “but you must not stop talking!” “All right,” said Vyāsa, “but you must understand every word first!” And so they began — Vyāsa speaking, Ganesha writing, faster and faster. When Ganesha’s pen broke, he did not stop. He used his own little tusk as a pen and kept on writing! Together they wrote the biggest, most beautiful story in the whole world.
