There once was a boy named Ekalavya who wanted, more than anything, to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow. He asked a famous teacher to teach him, but the teacher said no. Ekalavya was sad — but he did not give up! He had a clever idea. He made a little statue of the teacher he admired so much, set it up in the forest, and bowed to it. Then, every single day, he practised his archery in front of the statue, working hard and never quitting. He practised and practised, with respect in his heart. And do you know what? He became one of the best archers of all! Ekalavya showed that when you really want to learn and you keep trying, you truly can.
With respect and hard work, you can learn almost anything.
Ask your child: What is something you kept practising until you got better?
