Long ago there was a very clever boy named Shankara. Even when he was small, he loved to read the old, wise books and think about big questions, like “Where does the whole world come from?” Shankara learned a beautiful secret from those books: that one kind, loving spark lives inside everything — inside the trees, the rivers, the animals, and inside you and me too! He travelled to many towns to share this happy idea. He spoke so gently and kindly that people loved to listen. He even started special schools so that children long after him could learn the same wise lessons. Little Shankara showed that you are never too young to be wise and kind.
