आमोदरत्नलुण्ठाको विमाननगरावनिः । दाहान्धकारशीतांशुश् शैत्येन्दुक्षीरसागरः
Plunderer of the jewels of fragrance, the earth of the city of the aerial chariot; the burning, darkness, and cool moon, the ocean of the cool nectar of the moon.
प्राणापानकलारज्ज्वा प्राणिनां यन्त्रवाहकः । अरिर् मित्रं च दीपानां द्वीपसञ्चरणे रतः
With the thread of the energies of prāṇa and apāna, the driver of the machinery of living beings; both enemy and friend of the lamps, delighting in roaming the islands.
पुरोगतो ऽप्य् अदृश्यात्मा मनोराज्यपुरोपमः । तालवृन्ततिले तैलम् आलानं स्पन्ददन्तिनः
Though going ahead, its nature is unseen, like the capital of the kingdom of the mind; oil hidden in the sesame seed, the tether of the moving elephant.
एकक्षणलवेनैव वलिताखिलभूधरः । वर्णावलितरङ्गाणां गङ्गावाहरवैककृत्
In but a single instant, it can turn all the mountains; the sole bringer of the Ganges to the waves adorned with colors.
श्यामाम्बुवाहरजसां महावर्तकृद् अम्भसाम् । द्युनदीवाहवार्योघो नभोनीलोत्पलालिकः
The great whirlpool of the dust of dark water-bearers; the flood of waters of the celestial river, the blue-lotus garland of the sky.
शरीरावेष्टितोन्मुक्तपुराणतृणचोपनः । स्पन्दपद्मवनादित्यश् शब्दवर्षैकवारिदः
Wrapped in the body, released from the ancient mat of grass; the sun of the forest of trembling lotuses, the only cloud of the rain of sound.
व्योमकाननमातङ्गश् शरीरगृहगर्गटः । धूलीकदम्बविपिनम् आशालिङ्गननायकः
The lord who embraces the forest of dust clouds, the elephant of the sky, the rattling of the house of the body.
स्त्यानीकरणसंशोषधृतिस्पन्दनसौरभैः । सशैत्यैẖ कर्मभिष् षड्भिर् अलब्धक्षण आक्षयम्
With six actions—stagnation, drying, firmness, vibration, fragrance, and coolness—he, never obtaining a moment's rest, is inexhaustible.
रसाकर्षणसुव्यग्रो नित्यं भ्रातेव तेजसः । हरणादानकर्तॄणाम् अङ्गानां विनियोगकृत्
Always intensely engaged in drawing in essences, like the radiance of fire, he directs the functions of the organs responsible for taking, giving, and seizing.
शरीरनगरे नाडीमार्गैर् गतिनिरर्गलः । रसभाण्डपरावर्ताद् आयुर्मणिमहावणिक्
In the city of the body, moving freely through the channels, he is the great merchant of life-jewels, turning the vessels of essence.
शरीरनगरीनाशनिर्माणैकपरायणः । रसकिट्टकलाधातुपृथक्करणकोविदः
Devoted solely to the creation and destruction of the city of the body, he is skilled in distinguishing the essence, waste, arts, and elements.
प्रतिसूक्ष्माणुकं देहे ततो दृष्टं मया जगत् । तत्रेत्थंरूपम् आरम्भि स्फुटम् आभोगि सुस्थिरम्
I have seen, in every subtle atom of the body, the world; there, such a form arises—clear, enjoyable, and stable.
परमाणुं प्रति त्व् अत्र प्रोह्यन्त इव सर्गकाः । न च किञ्चित् किलोह्यन्ते खाकृतेẖ किम् इवोह्यते
Here, for each ultimate atom, creators seem to be propelled; yet nothing is truly propelled, for what can be propelled in what is made of space?
सचन्द्रार्कानिलाग्नीन्द्रयमवैश्रवणेश्वराः । सब्रह्महरिगन्धर्वविद्याधरमहोरगाः
With the moon, sun, wind, fire, Indra, Kubera, the lords; with Brahma, Vishnu, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas, and great serpents—
ससागरगिरिद्वीपदिगन्तरमहार्णवाः । सलोकान्तरलोकेशक्रियाकालक्रियाक्रमाः
With oceans, mountains, islands, the vast expanse of directions, and great seas; with worlds within worlds, rulers of worlds, and the succession of actions and times.
सस्वर्गभूमिपातालतललोकान्तरान्तराः । सभावाभाववैधुर्यजरामरणसम्भ्रमाः
With heavens, earths, nether realms, and countless inner worlds; with the confusion of existence and nonexistence, instability, old age, and death.
एवं नाम तदा राम भूतपञ्चकरूपिणा । मया प्रविहृतं तत्र त्रैलोक्यनलिनोदरे
Thus, O Rama, in that way, with the form of the five elements, I wandered there within the lotus of the three worlds.
रसḫ पीतो ऽनुभूतश् च क्ष्माजलानिलतेजसाम् । मूलजालेषु वृक्षाणां प्राणिनां च सता मया
The essence of earth, water, air, and fire was tasted and experienced by me, among the root networks of trees and among living beings.
रसायनघनाङ्गेषु चन्दनद्रवशोभिषु । लुठितं चन्द्रबिम्बेषु तुषारशयनेष्व् इव
I rolled among bodies dense with vital fluids, adorned with sandalwood paste, and among moonbeams, as if on beds of frost.
सर्वर्तुवनजालेषु नानामोदानि दिक्ष्व् अलम् । भुक्तानि पुष्पजालानि प्रोच्छिष्टं ददतालये
In the web of springtime, in all directions, I enjoyed the various fragrances; I consumed garlands of flowers, leaving remnants in the abode.
नतोन्नतासु मृद्वीषु स्वास्तीर्णास्व् अम्बराजिरे । सुप्तं शुभ्राभ्रमालासु नवनीतस्थलीष्व् इव
On soft, spread-out garments, neither low nor high, I slept among chains of white clouds, as if on plates of fresh butter.
सुमनḫपत्त्रमृदुषु लीनं लक्ष्मीविलासिषु । सुरसिद्धाङ्गनाङ्गेषु दूरास्तस्मरवासनम्
I was immersed in the softness of flower petals, in the playfulness of fortune; on the bodies of celestial and accomplished women, far removed from the abode of passion.
कृतẖ कुमुदकल्हारकराले नलिनीवने । कोमलẖ कलहंसीभिर् लीलाकलकलारवः
In the lotus forest, made fierce by the presence of blue and white water-lilies, the gentle sound of playful swans resounds with their melodious calls.
सरत्सरित्सिरासारमूलभूमण्डलान्विताः । अङ्गेषूढास् स्फुरद्भूता लोमालय इवाद्रयः
The rivers, with their many branches and sources, together with their root-lands, are settled upon my limbs like the trembling hairs upon a mountain.
चतुर्दिग्ग्रथितादीर्घसरित्सूत्रैस् समुद्रकैः । आदर्शैर् इव विश्रान्तम् अङ्गेषु प्रतिबिम्बिभिः
The oceans, bound in all directions by the long threads of rivers, rest upon my limbs as if reflected in mirrors.
भूतसर्गेण विभ्रान्तं सिद्धविद्याधरादिना । मद्देहे चेतितेनैव मक्षिकायौकरूपिणा
The creation of beings, bewildered by the powers of siddhas and vidyādharas, exists in my body alone, animated by the mind, like the forms of bees.
मत्प्रसादेन मुदितैर् लब्धम् अर्कादिभिर् वपुः । कृष्णरक्तसितापीतहरितैर् हारितैर् इव
By my grace, the body, joyfully obtained from the sun and other deities, is adorned with black, red, white, yellow, and green, as if decorated with various colors.
समुद्रमुद्रया सप्तद्वीपसप्तात्मरूपया । संस्थया स्थापिता भूमिḫ प्रकोष्ठे वलयोपमा
The earth, established in my forearm, is encircled by the ocean, taking the form of the seven continents and the seven inner selves, resembling a bracelet.
विद्याधरपुरन्ध्रीणां परामृष्टाङ्गयष्टिना । अदृष्टेनैव विहितḫ पुलकोल्लास आत्मना
By the unseen touch of the slender arms of the wives of the vidyādharas, a thrill of delight has arisen in me, manifesting as horripilation.
सरित्सिरासरत्साररसानि सुषिराणि च । जगन्त्य् एवास्थिजालानि ममासन् संस्थितानि च
The rivers, their branches, their essences, their waters, and their channels—these worlds were my very network of bones, and so they remained.
