At some places, it is like the residue left by flies, honeybees, or mosquitoes; elsewhere, it is furrowed and drawn by the playful scraping of hoes, ploughs, and sharp tools.

Having established the earth element in meditation, you are able to observe the worlds; if this is accomplished for the earth, what then of the mind-created world?
Both this world and the mind-created world are accomplished by me; neither this nor the mind-created world truly exist—only I am truly accomplished.
On the support of the earth without the mind, nothing at all arises; whatever you know as unreal or real is only a formation of the mind.
I am the pure space of consciousness; for me, there is nothing apart from the Self. Whatever is of the nature of pure consciousness is known as 'imagination' (saṅkalpa).
That is the mind, that is the earth-plane, that is the world, and that is the Creator; like a city of imagination in space, this expanse of mind moves about in the sky of consciousness.
Thus, for me, everything is merely imagination, merely mind, spread out and strengthened by the practice of concentration, and is established as the earth-globe.
This earth-globe is not truly that; it is something else, made of mind, merely a formation in space, insentient, a construct within consciousness.
That very thing, whose nature is only space, abides thus for a long time; but, because it is apprehended as 'this', it loses its status as mental.
This earth-globe, stable, solid, and extended, gives rise to the notion 'it exists' in the sky itself, due to long-standing perception.
By this reasoning, this earth-plane appears established; yet, in the very beginning of creation, it did not arise in this way.
Just as in a dream, pure consciousness alone appears as a city before oneself in space, so too, at the beginning of creation, consciousness alone stands as this world.
