Just as emptiness is in space, and liquidity is in water, so too is this pure creation, which is not other than the Self, in the Self.
This world, with its forms and endlessness, is pervaded by Brahman alone; it is beginningless, endless, and true—it neither arises nor perishes.
When moving from one place to another, in the moments between, the body appears to vanish; know that this world is likewise, established as the sky-like Self within oneself.
Just as motion exists in air, liquidity in water, and emptiness in space, so too does this world shine forth, being nothing other than the Self.
Consciousness-space is indeed the sky of the world, resting without marks in the Self, bearing neither rising nor setting; all things are its limbs, not other than it, pure emptiness, free of divisions—abide in the peace of sky.
States of existence and nonexistence, grasping and letting go, gross and subtle, moving and unmoving—all these were not produced in the beginning, for creation does not arise without a cause.
But the formless substratum of consciousness can never be a cause; the sky-like Self is powerless to be the seed of forms, just as earth cannot be the seed of plants.
Always contemplating its own nature, which is itself contemplation, the substratum of consciousness remains established in the Self, experiencing creation.
Tasting its own nature, the consciousness-substratum, whose essence is sky, is bound by the illusion of creation, weary and agitated thereby.
When all is unproduced and nothing at all is seen, then know this is Brahman alone—equal, peaceful, and akin to non-being.
Just as water arises from water, or space from space, so too, whatever appears from consciousness is nothing but consciousness, and thus the world is made.
In a dream, the world arises as pure consciousness alone; it shines forth and moves within itself, just as a reflection appears in a mirror—so it is with the creation in the space of consciousness.
Just as, in a dream, the world is a play of consciousness reflecting within itself, so too, in the waking state, this world exists merely as the expanse of consciousness.
At the beginning of creation, the dream of consciousness is called waking; but at night, the dream within consciousness is called dream.
Just as the waves of a river, though arising from previous flow, still remain, so too are the formations of objects in creation like the traces of waves.
Just as water, in the form of waves, constitutes the structure of rivers, so too, in the sky of consciousness, the existence of the seed of consciousness becomes creation.
If, for the one who has died, there is endless dissolution, then that is only the happiness of sleep; but if there is rebirth, then that happiness is simply new.
But if there is fear from evil deeds, that fear is present here and hereafter; therefore, for all, birth and death are equally peaceful.
He whose mind is at rest, for whom death and life are alike in their tendencies, is called inwardly cool.
By the awareness of the utter absence of all, the perception of all that is seen arises; when the perceived is set aside, the creation exists and does not exist.
That which is neither an object of cognition nor of the nature of consciousness, which is not known even by the mind—those who have attained unity with that, knowing it, are peaceful, though engaged in worldly activity.
That which is a mere flickering of consciousness is what is called the world; in the supremely clear expanse, how can there be any notion of bondage or liberation?
This world is nothing but the vibration of consciousness, existing as mere imagination; it is composed only of being, never at any time of earth and the like.
Here there is no space, no time, no substance, no action, no ether; all appears as if real, yet is entirely void and also not void, and even unreal.
Only that shines forth here, dense with the fullness of ultimate reality, which is neither void nor non-void, more transparent than even the sky.
Though it appears with form or without form, it is truly unreal, supremely radiant, pure, consisting only of consciousness, vast like a city in a dream.
Liberation is thus spread out in this way: within the inner space of consciousness, it is both clouded and unclouded in form. It is not manifold, nor is it extended anywhere; it is not diverse. Its emptiness is like the sky, or like fluidity in water.
Everywhere, always, everything, in every way, exists in the space of pure consciousness. The clear emptiness arises well, like the sky in all things.
Where there is consciousness, there the glory of creation exists; in the non-space, consciousness is present. Because all objects are made of consciousness, there is nowhere without consciousness.
Just as the collection of objects—mountains and cities—appears in a dream, so too, in waking, the realm of objects is only the supreme space of consciousness.
