आदानदानसङ्कोचपूर्विका भूतशक्तयः । सर्वम् एव चिदात्मास्मि ब्रह्म व्याततरूपधृत्
The powers of the elements, which arise, give, and withdraw, are all indeed my own consciousness; I am Brahman, assuming the form of the vast expanse.
लतागुल्माङ्कुरादीनाम् अहम् उद्भावनैषणाः । चिदात्मान्तर्गतं शान्तं परं ब्रह्म रसात्मकम्
The impulses for the sprouting of creepers, bushes, and shoots are within me; the supreme Brahman, peaceful, the essence of bliss, abides within the inner self of consciousness.
यस्मिन् सर्वं यतस् सर्वं यस् सर्वं सर्वतश् च यः । सो ऽयं चिद् अहम् एकात्मा परं ब्रह्मेति निश्चयः
That in which all exists, from which all arises, who is all, and who is everywhere—this very consciousness, the one Self, is the Supreme Brahman—this is the certainty.
चिद् आत्मा ब्रह्म सत् सत्यम् ऋतं ज्ञ इति नामभिः । प्रोच्यते सर्वगं तत्त्वं चिन्मात्रं चेत्यवर्जितम्
The Self of consciousness, Brahman, existence, truth, reality, knowledge—by these names is spoken the all-pervading principle, pure consciousness, devoid of objectivity.
आभासमात्रम् अमलं सर्वभूतावबोधकम् । सर्वत्रावस्थितं शान्तं चिद्ब्रह्मेत्य् अनुभूयते
Appearing only as a reflection, stainless, illuminating all beings, present everywhere, peaceful—this is experienced as the consciousness-Brahman.
मनोबुद्धीन्द्रियव्रातसमस्तकलनाचितम् । भेदं त्यक्त्वा स्वम् आभासं चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अनामयम्
Having abandoned all distinctions created by the mind, intellect, and the group of senses, I am the reflection of my own Self, the consciousness-Brahman, free from affliction.
शब्दादीनाम् अशेषाणां कारणानां जगत्स्थितेः । तत्त्वावभासकं स्वच्छं चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि न मे क्षयः
The pure consciousness-Brahman, which reveals the essence of all causes such as sound and the rest, and the existence of the world—I am that; there is no decline for me.
अनारतगलत्स्वच्छचिद्धारावहनात्मकम् । आलोकस् समनोमौनं चिद्ब्रह्मास्म्य् अमृतं परम्
I am the supreme, immortal consciousness-Brahman, whose nature is the unceasing flow of pure consciousness, bearing the radiance of light, equal to silence.
अनारतगलद्रूपं नित्यं चानुभवामृतम् । अहर्निशं कचत्कान्ति चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अलेपकः
I am the consciousness-Brahman, untouched, whose form is the unceasing flow, the eternal nectar of experience, shining day and night with sparkling brilliance.
सुषुप्तसदृशं शान्तम् आलोकविमलात्मकम् । सम्भोगान्तसमाभासं चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि विवासनः
I am the consciousness-Brahman, clear as deep sleep, peaceful, of the nature of pure light, appearing as the end of all enjoyments, devoid of any residue.
खण्डादिस्वादुसंवित्तिर् ईषद् यत्रानुतिष्ठति । चित्तादिष्व् अप्य् अबुद्धेषु तच् चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अच्युतः
Where the subtle awareness of taste arises in fragments and similar things, even in the mind and other faculties when they are unawakened, that consciousness is the undying Brahman, and I am That.
कान्तासंसक्तचित्तस्य चन्द्रे समुदिते सति । चन्द्रप्रत्ययसत्तात्म चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अनामयम्
When the mind is absorbed in the beloved and the moon has risen, the essence of awareness that is the basis of the perception of the moon is the Brahman-consciousness, and I am That, free from affliction.
भूमिष्ठनरदृष्टीनां लग्नानां खे निशाकरे । या खस्था तन्तुवच् छक्तिस् तच् चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि निर्मलम्
For those whose gaze is fixed on the moon in the sky from the earth, the energy that abides in the sky like a thread, that is the pure Brahman-consciousness, and I am That.
सुखदुःखादिकलनाविकलं निर्मनस् तथा । सत्यानुभवरूपात्म चिद्ब्रह्मात्मास्मि शाश्वतम्
Free from the calculations of pleasure and pain, and likewise without mind, whose nature is the experience of truth, I am the eternal Brahman-consciousness.
असंस्तुताध्वगालोके मनस्य् अन्यत्र संस्थिते । या प्रतीतिर् अनागस्का तच् चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि सर्वगः
When the light of the path is not praised and the mind is elsewhere, the innocent awareness that arises, I am That Brahman-consciousness, all-pervading.
भूवार्यनिलबीजानां सम्बन्धे ऽङ्कुरकर्मसु । शक्तिर् उद्गमनी यान्तस् तच् चिद्ब्रह्माहम् आततम्
In the union of earth, water, air, and seed, in the actions of sprouting, the energy that brings forth growth, I am That Brahman-consciousness, all-pervading.
खर्जूरनिम्बबिम्बानां स्वयम् आत्मनि तिष्ठताम् । यास्वादसत्ता लीनान्तस् तद् ब्रह्म चिद् अहं समम्
In the date and neem fruits that remain in themselves, the essence of taste that is absorbed within, I am That Brahman-consciousness, equal in all.
खेदानन्दविमुक्तान्तस् संविन् निर्मननोदया । लाभालाभविधौ तुल्या चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि निरामयम्
Within the end of suffering and joy, where awareness is free from the arising of mind, equal in gain and loss, I am That Brahman-consciousness, free from affliction.
यावद् भूमेर् ध्रुवस् तावद् दृष्टिसूत्रं यद् आततम् । तन्मध्यसदृशं शान्तं निर्मलं चिद् अहं ततम्
As far as the earth endures, so long does the thread of perception extend; within its midst, calm and pure, consciousness—I am—that pervades.
जाग्रत्य् अपि सुषुप्ते ऽपि स्वप्ने ऽपि सततोदितम् । तुर्यरूपम् अनाद्यन्तं चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अनामयः
Whether awake, asleep, or dreaming, ever present, I am the fourth state—without beginning or end—consciousness, Brahman, free from affliction.
पुंसां क्षेत्रशतोत्थानाम् इक्षूणां स्वादुवत् स्थितः । सर्वेषाम् एकरूपो ऽन्तश् चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि समस् स्थितः
Just as sweetness abides in countless stalks of sugarcane, so within all beings, in their many fields, I am the one form—consciousness, Brahman—equally established within.
सर्वगा प्रकृतौ सूक्ष्मरूपा भानोर् इव प्रभा । आलोककारिणी कान्ता चिद्ब्रह्मेदम् अहं ततम्
All-pervading in nature, subtle in form, like the radiance of the sun, illuminating and beautiful, I am this consciousness, Brahman, spread everywhere.
सम्भोगानन्दलववद् अमृतास्वादशक्तिवत् । स्वानुभूत्येकमानो ऽन्तश् चिद्ब्रह्मास्मि सद् अव्ययः
Like a drop of bliss in enjoyment, like the power of tasting nectar, inwardly experienced as one, I am consciousness, Brahman—ever existent, imperishable.
प्रोताङ्गम् अपि गुप्तस्थं देहे तन्तुर् बिसे यथा । छेदभेदे स्फुरद्रूपं चिद्ब्रह्माहम् अनामयः
Even though woven throughout the limbs, hidden within the body like a thread in a lotus stalk, manifest in both severance and continuity, I am consciousness, Brahman, free from affliction.
आक्रान्तभुवनाप्य् अभ्रमालेव स्पन्दशालिनी । दुर्लक्ष्याणुमयाकारा चिच्छक्तिर् अहम् आतता
Pervading worlds, yet like a cloud, vibrant with movement, subtle and hard to perceive, atomic in form, I am the spread-out power of consciousness.
अनुभूतिमयान्तस्स्थस्नेहमात्रोपलक्षिता । क्षीरान्तर्घृतसत्तेव चिद् अहं क्षयवर्जिता
Recognized only by the measure of inner experience and affection, like clarified butter within milk, I am consciousness—free from decay—dwelling within.
कटकाङ्गदकेयूररचना तदतन्मयी । हेम्नीव संस्थिता देहे चिद् ब्रह्मात्मास्मि सर्वगम्
Just as bracelets, armlets, and anklets are fashioned and exist within gold, so too, in this body, consciousness abides, and I am the all-pervading Self of Brahman.
पदार्थौघस्य शैलादेर् बहिर् अन्तश् च संस्थिता । सत्तासामान्यरूपेण या चित् साहम् अलेपकः
Within and outside the multitude of objects, from mountains onward, I am that consciousness established in the common essence of existence, untouched and pure.
सर्वासाम् अनुभूतीनाम् आदर्शो यो ह्य् अकृत्रिमः । अगम्यो मललेखानां तच् चित्तत्त्वम् अहं महत्
I am the uncontrived mirror of all experiences, unreachable by stains or blemishes; that is the great essence of consciousness which I am.
सर्वसङ्कल्पफलदं सर्वतेजःप्रकाशकम् । सर्वोपादेयसीमान्तं चिदात्मानम् उपास्महे
We worship the Self of consciousness, which yields the fruits of all intentions, radiates every brilliance, and marks the boundary of all that is to be acquired.
