O attachment, go to detachment; O aversion, attain non-aversion; with you both I have played here for a very long time.
O enjoyments, salutations to you; for hundreds of millions of births, I have been cherished by you in this world, as a child is fondled by its caretakers.

By your grace, I have attained this cool state; suffering is only named suffering, but you, giver of happiness, salutations to you.
May auspiciousness be yours, friend, whose life is free from the essence of worldly existence; this body remains as a dwelling, and we are established in our own self.
Indeed, the fate of dull creatures is harsh; even after being separated from the body, I have existed through hundreds of births.
Friend, body, you are not abandoned by me, long-time companion; only through self-knowledge brought by you has harm occurred within myself.
Having attained self-knowledge, self-destruction has been accomplished by you; in the body, you are not broken by another, but by your own worship.
As I sit alone, dried up and desolate, with my mind at peace, O mother thirst, you must not cause me sorrow; I am departing.

Salutations to you, rooted in the field of evil deeds, bearing the burden of hells, adorned with the flowers of command, branch of wrongdoing.

Take this body, which is merely a cage of bones and a network of blood and sinew, possessing only this much substance, and depart.
Salutations again and again to the various ways of bathing, like the agitation of water; salutations to worldly dealings, and salutations to the cycles of transmigration.
You all are my natural and former friends, who have gradually become the vital airs; may well-being be yours, for I am departing.

I have played within city walls, dwelled upon mountains, engaged in various pursuits, and traveled many diverse paths with you.
There is nothing in the treasury of the world that, together with you, I have not done, not taken, not eaten, not given, nor relied upon.
Now, dear ones, go to your own directions; I am departing. All unions on the path of worldly existence end in separation.
Let this visible light enter the orb of the sun; let the forest flowers, with their fragrant delight, return to their own essence.
Let the vital airs and the sensations now merge into the wind; let the streams of sound and hearing enter the cavity of space.
Let the mind, its form diminished, melt away in the fire like ghee, or in the moon like waning nectar.
