Born in the instant of your vision, and perishing in the instant of your vision, it is both dead and born; who can perceive this?
How can a thing that is unstable even for a moment serve as an agent or instrument? How can a garland be strung with waves shaped like lotuses?
If a thing, once arisen and then destroyed, could perform actions, then this world would string together a garland made of lightning threads.

By you, who are desireless, partless, and free from ego, doership is assumed, whether you exist or do not exist.
Victory to you, whose form is bold and splendid! Victory to you, devoted to peace! Victory to you, who transcend all scriptures! Victory to you, who are the abode of all scriptures!
Victory to the born, victory to the unborn! Victory to the wounded, victory to the unwounded! Victory to being, victory to non-being! Victory to the conqueror, victory to the unconquered!
I shine forth, I become tranquil, I remain, and I have gone beyond. I am victorious, I conquer, I live. Salutations to myself, salutations to you.
With you established, and myself abiding in the self free from desire, with all coloring of passion gone—where are relatives, where are calamities, where are riches, where are birth and death? Where do I attain eternal peace?

When Hiranyakashipu perished and his son remained in samadhi, no other king arose in the abode of the descendants of Danu.
Though the leaders of the demons sought him with great effort, Prahlada, absorbed in samadhi, did not awaken.
The enemies of the gods did not attain their flourishing lord there, just as a house at night does not obtain the lotus, whose petals shine with a network of radiance.
The wind of consciousness did not stir within him, who was devoid of awareness, just as human activity ceases on earth when the sun has set.
