निर्भावं निरहङ्कारम् अमनस्कम् अनीहितम् । केवलस्पन्दशुद्धात्म यन्त्रं तिष्ठति मे वपुः
My body remains as a machine, devoid of states, devoid of egoism, without mind, without intention, its essence purified by the sole vibration.
हेलानुकल्पितानन्तविश्वैकव्यवसायिनी । परमोपशमोपेता जातेयं मम निर्वृतिः
This supreme peace, my liberation, has arisen—spontaneously conceived, engaged in the single resolve of the infinite universe, endowed with the highest tranquility.
प्रशान्तमोहवेतालो गताहङ्कारराक्षसः । कदाशारूपिकामुक्तो जातो ऽस्मि विगतज्वरः
I have become free from the demon of egoism, the goblin of delusion pacified; released from the form of hope, I am born, free from fever.
तृष्णारज्जुगणं छित्त्वा मच्छरीरकपञ्जरात् । न जाने क्व गतोड्डीय दुरहङ्कृतिपक्षिणी
Having severed the cords of craving, the bird of difficult ego has flown from the cage of my body; I do not know where it has gone.
उद्धूलिते घनाज्ञानकुलाये कायपादपात् । न जाने गत उड्डीय क्वाहम्भावविहङ्गमः
When the nest of dense ignorance was scattered from the tree of the body, I do not know where the bird of 'I'-ness has flown.
दुराशादीर्घदौरात्म्या धूसरा भोगभस्मना । भयभोगिहता दिष्ट्या वयस्या वासना मृता
By fortune, the companion called 'tendency' has died, destroyed by the ashes of enjoyment, faded by the long misfortune of vain hope, and struck by the fear of pleasure.
एतावन्तम् अहं कालं को ऽभूवं चित्तम् ईदृशम् । येनाहम् एव मिथ्यैव दृढाहङ्कारतां गतः
For so long, what was I? What was this mind, by which I, through mere illusion, attained such firm egoism?
अद्याहम् अस्मि जातो ऽयम् अहम् अद्य महामतिः । अहङ्कारमहाभ्रेण यः कृष्णेनालम् उज्झितः
Today I am born; today I am endowed with great wisdom, for I am utterly freed from the vast dark cloud of ego.
दृष्टो ऽयम् आत्मा भगवान् अन्तश् चाधिगतो मया । आलब्धश् चानुभूतो ऽङ्गे सानुभूतिर् नियोजितः
This self, the blessed one, has been seen and realized within by me; it has been obtained, experienced in the body, and established with awareness.
गतास्पदं गतमननं गतैषणं तिरस्कृतं निपुणम् अहङ्कृतिभ्रमे । निरीहितं व्यपगतरागरञ्जनं विकौतुकं प्रशमम् इदं गतं मनः
The mind has reached peace: it is without a base, without thought, without desire, skillfully freed from the illusion of ego, devoid of longing, cleansed of the stain of passion, and free from curiosity.
दुरुत्तरास् समविषमा महापदस् सुदुस्सहाः प्रभवनदीर्घदोषदाः । गताः क्षयं समधिगतो महेश्वरश् चिदव्ययो व्यपगतचित्तम् अन्तरे
The great obstacles, difficult to cross and endure, giving rise to long-lasting faults, have perished; the supreme Lord, imperishable consciousness, has been attained within, with the mind dissolved.
आत्मन् सर्वपदातीत चिरात् संस्मृतिम् आगतः । दिष्ट्या लब्धो ऽसि भगवन् नमस् ते ऽस्तु चिदात्मने
O Self, transcending all conditions, you have returned to remembrance after a long time; by good fortune you are found, O revered one, salutations to you, the consciousness-self.
अभिवन्द्यावलोक्यायम् अलम् आलिङ्ग्यसे मया । को ऽन्यस् स्याद् भगवन् बन्धुस् त्वदृते भुवनत्रये
Having bowed and looked upon you, it is enough—I embrace you; who else, O revered one, would be a kin in the three worlds apart from you?
हंसि पासि ददासि त्वं स्तौषि यासि विवल्गसि । अयं प्राप्तो ऽसि दृष्टो ऽसि किं करोषि क्व गच्छसि
You kill, you protect, you give, you praise, you go, you rejoice; now you have arrived, you are seen—what are you doing, where are you going?
स्वसत्तापूरिताशेषविश्व विश्वजनीन हे । सर्वत्र लक्ष्यसे नित्यम् अधुना क्व पलायसे
O origin of all beings, who fills the entire universe with your own essence, you are always perceived everywhere—now, where are you fleeing?
आवयोर् अन्तरं भूरिजन्मव्यवहितान्तरम् । अदूरम् अद्य सम्पन्नं दिष्ट्या दृष्टो ऽसि बान्धव
The distance between us, separated by many births, is now overcome; by good fortune you are seen today, O kinsman.
नमस् ते कृतकृत्याय कर्त्रे हर्त्रे नमो ऽस्तु ते । नमस् संसारनृत्याय नित्याय विमलात्मने
Salutations to you, who has accomplished all tasks, to the creator and destroyer; salutations to you, who dances the dance of worldly existence, eternal and pure in essence.
नमश् चक्राब्जहस्ताय नमश् चन्द्रार्धधारिणे । नमो विबुधनाथाय नमस् ते पद्मजन्मने
Salutations to you, who holds the discus and lotus in your hands; salutations to you, who bears the crescent moon; salutations to you, lord of the wise; salutations to you, born from the lotus.
वाच्यवाचकदृष्ट्यैव भेदो यो ऽयम् इहावयोः । असत्या कल्पनैवैषा वीचिवीच्यम्भसोर् इव
The distinction between us, seen as speaker and spoken, is merely an unreal imagination, like the difference between waves and the water of the ocean.
त्वम् एवानन्तयानन्तवस्तुवैचित्र्यरूपया । भावाभावविलासिन्या नित्ययेह विजृम्भसे
You alone manifest here eternally, in the form of the endless, wondrous diversity of infinite reality, playing as both existence and non-existence.
नमो द्रष्ट्रे नमस् त्वष्ट्रे नमो ऽनन्तविकासिने । नमस् सर्वस्वभावाय नमस् ते सर्वगामिने
Salutations to the Seer, salutations to the Creator, salutations to the One of infinite expansion, salutations to the One whose nature is all, salutations to You who move everywhere.
प्रतिजन्म चिरं बह्व्यो दीर्घदुःखवता मया । त्वया मायोपदग्धेन दिग्धेन महतैनसा
In every birth, for a long time, I have endured many prolonged sufferings, afflicted by You through maya, stained by great wrongdoing.
आलोकिता लोकदशा दृष्टा दृष्टान्तदृष्टयः । न प्राप्तस् त्वं त्वया येन किञ्चिद् आसादितं भवेत्
I have observed the conditions of the world, seen various examples and viewpoints, yet nothing has been attained by You through which anything could be acquired.
सर्वं मृत्काष्ठपाषाणवारिमात्रम् इदं जगत् । नेहास्ति त्वदृते देव यत्प्राप्तौ नाभिवाञ्छ्यते
All this world is merely earth, wood, stone, and water; O Lord, apart from You, there is nothing here whose attainment is truly desired.
देवायम् अद्य लब्धो ऽसि दृष्टो ऽस्य् अधिगतो ऽसि च । सम्प्राप्तो ऽसि गृहीतो ऽसि नमस् ते ऽस्तु न मुच्यसे
O Lord, today You have been obtained, seen, reached, attained, and grasped; salutations to You—may You never be lost.
यो ऽक्ष्णोः कनीनिकारश्मिजालप्रोतवपुस् स्थितः । देवो दर्शनरूपेण कथं सो ऽन्तर् न दृश्यते
The Lord who abides as the form woven by the rays of the pupil in the eye, as the essence of vision—how is it that He is not seen within?
यस् त्वक्पुष्पे स्पृशन् स्पर्शगन्धं तैलं तिले यथा । स्पर्शम् अन्तः करोत्य् एष स कथं नानुभूयते
Just as touch, fragrance, and oil are present within the sesame seed, so this One makes touch within the flower's skin—how is He not experienced?
यश् शब्दश्रवणाद् अन्तश् शब्दशक्तिं परामृशन् । रोमाञ्चं जनयत्य् अङ्गे स दूरस्थः कथं भवेत्
He who, upon hearing a sound, perceives its subtle power within and experiences goosebumps on his body—how can such a one be considered distant from it?
जिह्वापल्लवलग्नानि स्वतीतस्याङ्गतो ऽपि च । स्वदन्ते यस्य वस्तूनि स्वदते स न कस्य वा
Whatever things are attached to the tip of the tongue, even if they are from another's body, whoever tastes them—whose are they not tasted by?
पुष्पगन्धान् उपादाय घ्राणहस्तेन देहकम् । य आलेपयति प्रीत्या कस्यासौ न मुखे स्थितः
Taking the fragrance of flowers with the hand of the nose, whoever joyfully applies it to the body—how is he not situated in the mouth?
