अयं मे कर्णिकाकोशनिलीनब्रह्मषट्पदः । पद्मः करतले श्रीमान् स्वनाभिकुहरोद्भवः
Here in my palm is the splendid lotus, born from the depths of its own navel, whose core shelters the bee of Brahman.
इयं मे रत्नचित्राङ्गी सुमेरुशिखरोपमा । हेमाङ्गदा गदा गुर्वी दैत्यदानवमर्दिनी
This mace of mine, adorned with jewels and resembling the peak of Mount Sumeru, is golden, heavy, and crushes the demons and danavas.
अयं मे भासुराकारस् सुखदृश्यस् सुदर्शनः । ज्वालाजटिलपर्यन्तपरिपाटलदिक्तटः
This one of mine, radiant in form, pleasing to behold, is beautiful; its ends are tangled with flames, and its sides are tinged with red.
अयं मे केतुमद्वह्निसुन्दरो ज्वलितो ऽसितः । कुठारो दैत्यवृक्षाणां नन्दयन् नन्दकस् स्थितः
This axe of mine, bearing a banner and blazing with fire, is dark and splendid; it delights in felling the demon-trees and stands as the joyous Nandaka.
इदं मच्छरधाराणां पुष्करावर्तको घनः । शार्ङ्गं धनुर् अहीन्द्राभम् इन्द्रकार्मुकसुन्दरम्
This dense whirlpool of mine, formed by the streams of my arrows, is like a lotus; the bow Sharnga, resembling the king of serpents, is beautiful like Indra’s bow.
इमान्य् अहम् अनन्तानि जगन्ति जठरे चिरम् । बिभर्मि जातनष्टानि वर्तमानान्य् अनेकशः
I have long carried countless worlds within my belly—born, destroyed, and existing in many ways.
इमौ मही मे चरणाव् इदं मे गगनं शिरः । इदं वपुर् मे त्रिजगद् इमा मे कुक्षयो दिशः
These feet of mine are the earth; this head of mine is the sky; this body of mine is the three worlds; these sides of mine are the directions.
साक्षाद् अयम् अहं विष्णुर् नीलमेघोदरद्युतिः । सुपर्णपर्वतारूढश् शङ्खचक्रगदाधरः
I am directly Vishnu, radiant like the belly of a dark cloud, mounted upon the mountain with Garuda, holding the conch, discus, and mace.
एते मत्तः पलायन्ते समग्रा दुष्टचेतसः । तार्णास् तरलसञ्चाराः पवनाद् इव राशयः
All those with wicked minds flee from me; they are swept away, moving swiftly like heaps of dust driven by the wind.
अयम् इन्दीवरश्यामः पीतवासा गदाधरः । लक्ष्मीवान् गरुडारूढस् स्वयम् एवाहम् अच्युतः
This very one, dark as a blue lotus, clad in yellow garments, bearing the mace, endowed with fortune, mounted upon Garuda, is myself—Acyuta.
को माम् एति विरुद्धात्मा त्रैलोक्यदहनक्षमम् । स्वनाशाय मरुत्क्षुब्धं कल्पाग्निं शलभो यथा
Who, being opposed to me, dares approach—capable as I am of burning the three worlds—like a moth rushing into the fire of dissolution, stirred by the wind, only to meet its own destruction?
इमे ते तैजसीं दृष्टिं ममाग्रस्थास् सुरासुराः । न शक्नुवन्ति संसोद्ःउं चक्षुर्मन्दाः प्रभाम् इव
These gods and demons, standing before me, cannot endure my fiery gaze, just as weak eyes cannot bear the brilliance of light.
इमे माम् ईश्वरं विष्णुं ब्रह्मेन्द्राग्निहरादयः । स्तुवन्त्य् अनन्तया वाचा बहुवक्त्रसमुत्थया
These—Brahma, Indra, Agni, Hara, and others—praise me, the Lord Vishnu, with endless words arising from many mouths.
अयं विजृम्भितैश्वर्यो जातो ऽहम् अजिताकृतिः । सर्वद्वन्द्वपदातीतो महिम्ना परमेण हि
I am born with manifest sovereignty, of unconquerable form, transcending all pairs of opposites, truly by supreme greatness.
त्रिभुवनभवनोदरैकमूर्ति प्रसभविभिन्नसमस्तदुष्टसत्त्वम् । घनगिरितृणकाननान्तरस्थं सकलभयापहरं वपुः प्रणौमि
I bow to that form, the sole essence within the abodes of the three worlds, which forcefully destroys all evil beings, which dwells in the spaces between dense mountains, grass, and forests, and which removes all fear.
प्रह्लाद इति सञ्चिन्त्य कृत्वा नारायणीं तनुम् । पुनस् सञ्चिन्तयाम् आस पूजार्थम् असुरद्विषः
Thinking thus as Prahlada, and having assumed the form of Narayana, he again contemplated, for the sake of worship, upon the enemy of the demons.
वपुषो वैष्णवाद् अस्मान् मरुन्मूर्तिः परापरः । अयं प्राणप्रवाहेण बहिर् विष्णुस् स्थितो ऽपरः
From this Vaishnava form of ours, the supreme and the non-supreme, the wind-formed one, by the flow of life-breath, this other Vishnu abides outside.
वैनतेयसमारूढस् स्फुटशक्तिचतुष्टयः । शङ्खचक्रगदापाणिश् श्यामलाङ्गश् चतुर्भुजः
Mounted upon Garuda, manifesting the four clear powers, holding conch, discus, and mace in his hands, dark-limbed, and four-armed—
चन्द्रार्कनयनश् श्रीमान् कान्तनन्दकनन्दनः । पद्मपाणिर् विशालाक्षश् शार्ङ्गधन्वा महाद्युतिः
With eyes like the moon and sun, glorious, beloved son of Nanda, holding a lotus in his hand, wide-eyed, bearing the Sharnga bow, of great radiance—
तद् एनं पूजयाम्य् आशु परिवारसमन्वितम् । सपर्यया मनोमय्या सर्वसम्भाररम्यया
I swiftly worship him, surrounded by his attendants, with a mental offering, delightful with every fitting element—
तत एनं महादेवं पूजयिष्याम्य् अहं पुनः । पूजया बाह्यसम्भोगमहत्या बहुरत्नया
Then I shall again worship that great Lord, with an external worship, grand and adorned with many jewels—
प्रह्लाद इति सञ्चिन्त्य सम्भारभरभारिणा । मनसा पूजयाम् आस माधवं कमलाधवम्
Thinking 'I am Prahlada,' he worshipped Madhava, the lotus-born, in his mind, with a weighty abundance of offerings—
रत्नार्घपात्रपटलैश् चन्दनादिविलेपनैः । धूपैर् दीपैर् विचित्रैश् च नानाविभवभूषणैः
With rows of jewel-encrusted offering vessels, ointments like sandalwood and others, with various incense and lamps, and ornaments of manifold splendor—
मन्दारमालावलनैर् हेमाब्जपटलोत्करैः । कल्पवृक्षलतागुच्छै रत्नस्तबकमण्डलैः
With garlands of mandara flowers, clusters of golden lotuses, tall vines of wish-fulfilling trees, and circles of jewel-encrusted pillars—
पल्लवैर् देववृक्षाणां नानाकुसुमदामभिः । किङ्किरातैर् बुकैः कुन्दैश् चण्पकैर् असितोत्पलैः
With leaves from divine trees, garlands of various flowers, with kinkirata, buka, kunda, champaka, and blue lotus blossoms—
कल्हारैः कुमुदैः काशैः खर्जूरैश् चूतकिंशुकैः । अशोकैर् मदनैर् बिल्वैः कर्णिकारैः किरातकैः
With kalhāra, kumuda, kāśa, kharjūra, mango, kiṃśuka, aśoka, madana, bilva, karṇikāra, and kirātaka trees,
कदम्बैः कुकुरैर् नीपैस् सिन्धुवारैस् सयूथिकैः । पारिभद्रैर् गुग्गुलुभिर् विदुलैः कुय्यकोत्करैः
With kadamba, kukura, nīpa, sindhuvāra, and yūthika, pāribhadra, guggulu, vidula, and abundant kuyyaka trees,
प्रियङ्गुपटलैः पाटैः पाटलैर् धातुपाटलैः । आम्रैर् आम्रातकैर् भव्यैर् हरीतकविभीतकैः
With priyangu, paṭala, pāṭa, pāṭala, dhātupāṭala, mango, āmrātaka, splendid harītaki and vibhītaka trees,
सालतालतमालानां लताकुसुमपल्लवैः । कोमलैः कलिकाजालैस् सहकारैस् सकुङ्कुमैः
With the flowering vines and tender buds of sāla, tāla, and tamāla trees, and with the delicate clusters of sahakāra and kuṅkuma,
केतकैस् सप्तपर्णैश् च तथेरामञ्जरीगणैः । विचित्रपालीवतजैर् नानाटङ्कतरूद्भवैः
With ketaka, saptaparṇa, and likewise with clusters of eramañjarī, with the varied pālīvaṭa and many other splendid trees,
