Om. In the beginning and at all times, there is the whole—perfect, complete, infinite. Everything here and everything beyond is complete in itself. Even when the complete arises from the complete, or when something is taken from it, what remains is still the complete, undiminished and whole. With this vision, know that everything in this moving, changing world is pervaded and enveloped by the Lord, the Divine Presence. Therefore, enjoy what comes to you by letting go—by renouncing selfish grasping—and never covet the wealth or possessions of another. True enjoyment is found in this spirit of renunciation and trust in the Lord’s fullness. If you wish to live a full life upon this earth, you should desire to spend a hundred years here, performing your duties and actions. Only by acting in this way—engaged in the world while remaining unattached—do your actions not bind you. There is no other path for freedom from the bonds of action. But those who turn away from this truth, who harm their own Self by denying its reality, enter worlds of darkness after death—realms covered in blinding ignorance. Such is the fate of those who slay the Self within. Yet, there is a higher vision. Whoever truly sees all beings as abiding in the Self alone, and the Self shining forth in all beings, such a person never recoils from anything. For the one who knows that all beings are, in truth, the Self—what delusion or sorrow can ever touch him? When oneness is seen everywhere, confusion and grief vanish, and only peace remains.
