From the unfathomable depths of existence arises He who is the origin of all, the agitator of creation, the divine source from whom prosperity springs. He is the supreme Lord, both the instrument and the cause, the doer, the unique creator whose mysterious ways elude understanding. He is resolve itself, the foundation upon which all rests, the form that shapes the universe, the giver of position and status. Constant and unwavering, He is of supreme prosperity, perfectly clear in His nature, contented and nourished, and His gaze brings auspiciousness to all. He brings delight to beings, grants cessation from suffering, and is free from passion. He is the path, the one who can be led and the guide, yet also the non-guide. He is the hero, foremost among the powerful, righteousness incarnate, and the best knower of righteousness. As Vaikuntha, the cosmic person, He is the vital breath and giver of life, the sacred syllable Om, vast and golden-embryo, destroyer of enemies, all-pervading like the wind, and transcendent beyond all. He is the season and the one of beautiful vision, time itself, the highest Lord and possessor. Fierce as the year, skillful, repose, and universally skillful, He expands yet remains immovable and stable, the measure of all, the imperishable seed. He is meaning and non-meaning, the great treasury, great enjoyment, and great wealth. Never weary, exceedingly strong, He is the earth, the pillar of righteousness, the great sacrifice, the axis and lord of stars, patient, thin, and the mover of all. He is sacrifice, the worshipped, the greatly worshipped, the ritual, the session, the path of the virtuous. All-seeing, liberated in spirit, all-knowing, and supreme knowledge, He is firm in His vows, with a pleasant face, subtle and melodious in voice, bestowing happiness, a good friend who captivates the mind, who has conquered anger, whose arms are heroic, and who is the destroyer. He causes sleep, is self-controlled, all-pervading, with many forms and actions. He is the year, affectionate, protector of calves, the jewel within, and the lord of wealth. He protects righteousness, acts righteously, and is established in righteousness. He is both the real and the unreal, the perishable and the imperishable, unknowable, with a thousand rays, the creator who has established the marks. He is the wheel of the sun’s rays, abiding in purity, the lion, the great lord of beings, the primeval god, the great god, lord of gods, and teacher of the supporter of gods. Transcendent, protector of the earth, guardian, attainable through knowledge, ancient; supporter and enjoyer of embodied beings, lord of the monkeys, exceedingly generous in gifts. He drinks Soma, drinks immortality, is Soma itself; conqueror of many, supreme among men; humble, victorious, steadfast in truth, descendant of Dasharha, lord of the Sātvatas. To be directed, the living being, the humble one, the witness, giver of liberation, of immeasurable stride; the ocean, of infinite self, lying upon the great waters, the ender. Unborn, supremely worthy, of inherent nature, conqueror of foes, delight-giver; blissful, source of joy, joy itself, upholder of true righteousness, who traversed the three worlds. The great sage Kapila, the teacher; the one who is grateful; lord of the earth; the one with three strides; overseer of the gods; the one with great horns; destroyer of death. He wields the excellent bow, the cleaving axe, is fierce, bestows wealth; touches the heavens, sees all, is Vyāsa, lord of speech, unborn. He is the triple Sāma, singer of Sāma, Sāma itself; liberation, medicine, physician; performer of renunciation, patient, tranquil, the goal, peace, supreme refuge. His limbs are auspicious, He grants peace, is creator; delights, dwells in the lotus; protector of cows, lord of cows, guardian; eyes like a bull, loves the bull. He does not turn back, His mind withdrawn, the compactor, brings welfare, is auspicious; His chest bears the mark of Śrīvatsa, abode of Śrī, husband of Śrī, best among the blessed. Of beautiful eyes, beautiful limbs, a hundred joys, source of delight, lord of the hosts of light, self-conquered, not subject to others, noble fame, free from doubt. Risen high, whose eyes are everywhere, without master, eternal and steadfast, resting on the earth, ornament of the earth, prosperity, free from sorrow, destroyer of sorrow. Radiant, worshipped, vessel of abundance, pure in essence, purifier, unobstructed, unconquered in battle, Pradyumna, of immeasurable valor. Slayer of Kālanemi, hero, valiant one, lord of the brave, soul of the three worlds, lord of the three worlds, Keśava, slayer of Keśi, Hari. Worthy of praise, fond of hymns, Himself the hymn, the act of praise, and the one who praises; delights in battle, is complete, fulfiller, virtuous, renowned for virtue, and free from disease. The path to the good, honored by the virtuous, existence itself, true being, supreme refuge of the righteous; chief of the Shura Sena clan, foremost among the Yadus, the true abode, and the one who makes the Yamuna auspicious. Dwelling place of all beings, son of Vasudeva, support of all life, fire, destroyer of pride, giver of pride, proud, difficult to conquer, ever undefeated. Whose form is the universe, who has a great form, radiant in form, formless; with many forms, unmanifest, a hundred forms, a hundred faces. He is one, He is many; He is all, He is who, He is what, He is that supreme state; friend of the worlds, lord of the worlds, Mādhava, affectionate to devotees. Golden in color, with limbs like gold, excellent limbs, adorned with sandalwood; destroyer of heroes, unequalled, empty, who drinks clarified butter, unmoving and moving. Without pride, bestower of honor, worthy of honor, lord of the worlds, supporter of the three worlds; of good intellect, born of intelligence, fortunate, whose wisdom is truth, supporter of the earth. Such is the story of the Supreme, whose attributes, forms, and deeds encompass all that is, all that was, and all that ever will be.
