From the nectar-rayed moon was born a radiant being, who shines as the sun and bears the mark of the hare upon his lunar form. He is the lord of the gods, the very medicine for the world, the bridge connecting all existence, and his valor is rooted in truth and righteousness. He is the sovereign of all that has been, all that will be, and all that is. He manifests as the wind, the purifier, and the fire; he destroys desire and fulfills it, beloved and desired, the very essence of longing, the bestower of wishes, the supreme master. He is the originator of ages, the turner of the cycles of time, the wielder of manifold illusions, and the great consumer. Though invisible, he takes countless forms, conquering thousands, and triumphing over the infinite. He is desired, yet remains beyond distinction; esteemed by the noble, adorned with a crest, the descendant of Nahusha, righteous as the bull. He destroys anger, creates wrath, acts with purpose; his arms encompass the universe, and he bears the earth. Unwavering and renowned, he is the vital breath, the giver of life, the younger brother of Indra. He is the ocean of waters, the foundation, ever vigilant, and firmly established. He is Skanda and the bearer of Skanda, the supporter and bestower of boons, moving with the wind. He is Vāsudeva, radiant and primeval, the destroyer of cities. Free from sorrow, he is the deliverer, the savior, valiant son of Shura, lord of people. Favorable and ever-revolving, he possesses lotus hands and lotus eyes. His navel is a lotus, his eyes are lotuses, born from the lotus, sustaining all bodies. He is prosperous, ancient in spirit, great-eyed, and Garuda adorns his banner. Unequalled, he destroys the mighty and formidable, knows time, accepts oblations, and removes offerings. Marked by auspicious signs, he possesses Lakshmi and is victorious in battle. Imperishable and red-hued, he is the path and the cause, with a rope around his waist, enduring. He supports the earth, is greatly fortunate, swift, and of immeasurable appetite. He is the origin, the agitator, the divine, the womb of prosperity, the supreme lord, the instrument, the cause, the doer, the unique creator, unfathomable and mysterious. He is resolve, foundation, form, giver of position, constant, of supreme prosperity, perfectly clear, contented, nourished, and his gaze is auspicious. He brings delight, cessation, is free from passion, the path, the one who can be led and the guide, yet also the non-guide. He is the hero, foremost among the powerful, righteousness itself, and the best knower of righteousness. He is Vaikuntha, the cosmic person, the vital breath, the giver of life, the sacred syllable Om, vast, the golden embryo, destroyer of enemies, all-pervading, the wind, and the transcendent. He is the season, of beautiful vision, time, the highest lord, the possessor, fierce, the year, skillful, repose, and universally skillful. He is expansion, immovable and stable, the measure, the imperishable seed, meaning and non-meaning, the great treasury, great enjoyment, and great wealth. Never weary, exceedingly strong, he is the earth, the pillar of righteousness, the great sacrifice, the axis and lord of stars, patient, thin, and the mover. He is sacrifice, worshipped, greatly worshipped, the ritual, the session, the path of the virtuous, all-seeing, liberated in spirit, all-knowing, and supreme knowledge. Firm in his vows, with a pleasant face, subtle, with a melodious voice, he bestows happiness, is a good friend, captivates the mind, conquers anger, his arms are heroic, and he is the destroyer. He causes sleep, is self-controlled, all-pervading, with many forms and actions; he is the year, affectionate, protector of calves, possesses the jewel within, and is the lord of wealth. He protects righteousness, acts righteously, is established in righteousness; both real and unreal, perishable and imperishable, unknowable, with a thousand rays, the creator, and establisher of marks. He is the wheel of the sun’s rays, abiding in purity, the lion, the great lord of beings, primeval god, great god, lord of gods, teacher of the supporter of gods. Transcendent, protector of the earth, guardian, attainable through knowledge, ancient, supporter and enjoyer of embodied beings, lord of the monkeys, exceedingly generous. He drinks Soma, drinks immortality, is Soma itself, conqueror of many, supreme among men, humble, victorious, steadfast in truth, descendant of Dasharha, lord of the Sātvatas. He is to be directed, the living being, humble, witness, giver of liberation, of immeasurable stride, the ocean, of infinite self, who lies upon the great waters, the ender. Unborn, supremely worthy, of inherent nature, conqueror of foes, delight-giver, blissful, source of joy, joy itself, upholder of true righteousness, who traversed the three worlds. He is Kapila, the great sage and teacher, grateful, lord of the earth, with three strides, overseer of the gods, with great horns, destroyer of death. He is the great boar, Govinda, with a beautiful army, adorned with golden armlets, mysterious, profound, unfathomable, hidden, bearer of the discus and mace. He is the creator, whose limbs are auspicious, unconquered, Krishna, firm, Sankarshana, infallible, Varuna, son of Varuna, the tree, lotus-eyed, of great mind. Blessed, destroyer of fortune, joyful, wearer of the forest garland, wielder of the plough, son of Aditi, radiant sun, enduring, best among those who move. He wields the excellent bow and cleaving axe, fierce, bestower of wealth, touches the heavens, sees all, is Vyāsa, lord of speech, unborn. He is the triple Sāma, singer of Sāma, Sāma itself; liberation, medicine, physician, renouncer, patient, tranquil, the goal, peace, supreme refuge. His limbs are auspicious, he grants peace, creator, delights, dwells in the lotus, protector of cows, lord of cows, guardian, whose eyes are like a bull, who loves the bull. He does not turn back, his mind withdrawn, the compactor, who brings welfare, auspicious, with the mark of Śrīvatsa on his chest, abode and husband of Śrī, best among the blessed. He is the giver, lord, abode, treasure, manifestor, bearer, and bestower of prosperity; supreme good, possessor of prosperity, refuge of the three worlds. Of beautiful eyes and limbs, of a hundred joys, source of delight, lord of the hosts of light, self-conquered, not subject to others, of noble fame, free from doubt. Risen high, whose eyes are everywhere, without master, eternal and steadfast, resting on the earth, ornament of the earth, prosperity, free from sorrow, destroyer of sorrow. Radiant, worshipped, vessel of abundance, pure in essence, purifier, unobstructed, unconquered in battle, Pradyumna, of immeasurable valor. He is the slayer of Kālanemi, hero, valiant one, lord of the brave, soul and lord of the three worlds, Keśava, slayer of Keśi, Hari. He is the god of desire, protector of desires, desirer, beloved, author of sacred codes, of indescribable form, Viṣṇu, courageous, infinite, and conqueror of wealth. Thus, the story of this divine being unfolds, encompassing all worlds and virtues, manifesting in countless forms, the source and sustainer of all, the supreme refuge and joy.
