In the vast expanse of existence, there is One who is unborn and eternal, the Lord of all beings, accomplished and the very goal of attainment. He stands as the origin of everything, unchanging and steadfast, bearing the emblematic bull and possessing a nature beyond measure. From Him, all yogic paths arise. He is the treasure sought by all, noble in mind and truthful, his essence equal and incomparable. Impartial and unfailing, his eyes are like lotuses, and he acts always in righteousness, embodying the very form of dharma. He is Rudra, with many heads and a tawny hue, the source from which all creation springs. Renowned for purity, immortal and eternal, his stature is exalted and his austerity profound. All-pervading and all-knowing, he radiates brilliance and commands the universe, protecting its people. He is both the Veda and its knower, flawless and the embodiment of the Veda’s limbs, wise beyond measure. He oversees worlds, gods, and righteousness, acting and abstaining as needed. His essence is fourfold, manifesting in four forms, with four fangs and four arms. Radiant, he is both food and the eater, enduring and the origin of the universe. Sinless and victorious, he conquers all, ever-renewing as the source of creation. He is Upendra, Indra’s younger brother, and Vamana, the dwarf, yet also tall and infallible, pure and powerful, transcending Indra. He gathers and creates, self-controlled and regulating all, the controller of the cosmos. Knowable through the Vedas, he is the healer, ever engaged in yoga, destroyer of heroes, Mādhava and Madhu, beyond the senses, master of great illusion, enthusiasm, and strength. His intellect, valor, power, and radiance are immense, his form indescribable and glorious, his nature immeasurable, and he bears great mountains. He wields a mighty bow, sustains the earth, is the abode of fortune, refuge of the virtuous, unconquered, delight of the gods, Govinda, and lord of those who know the earth. He is Marīci, the dispeller, the Swan with splendid wings, foremost among serpents, golden-naveled, austere, lotus-naveled, and lord of all creatures. Deathless and all-seeing, he is the lion, the unifier, steadfast and unborn, difficult to conquer, instructor, renowned in spirit, and destroyer of the gods’ enemies. He is the teacher and supreme teacher, the abode and truth itself, his valor rooted in truth. Both blinking and unblinking, adorned with garlands, master of speech, and noble-minded. He leads, chief of groups, glorious and just, guide and the wind, thousand-headed, soul of the universe, thousand-eyed and thousand-footed. He causes cycles of creation and dissolution, his nature withdrawn and veiled, crushing all. He is the day of dissolution, fire, wind, and supporter of the earth. Supremely gracious and serene, he upholds and enjoys the universe, all-pervading, the true doer, truly honored and virtuous—Jahnu, Nārāyaṇa, and Nara. Innumerable and immeasurable, distinguished and instructor of the noble, pure and fulfilled in resolve, bestower of success and the means to accomplishment. He bears the bull as his emblem and is himself the bull, Viṣṇu, whose steps are firm and belly strong as a bull. He causes growth, ever growing, distinct, and is the ocean of the Vedas. His arms are beautiful and hard to conquer, eloquent in speech, the great lord, giver and embodiment of wealth, of many forms and vast form, radiant with rays, the illuminator. He bears energy, brilliance, and splendor; his nature is light and blazing. Prosperous, his syllables are clear, he is the mantra, like moon’s rays and sun’s luster. Born from the nectar-rayed moon, he is the sun, marked by the hare, lord of the gods, the medicine, the bridge of the world, his valor rooted in truth and righteousness. He is lord of past, present, and future; wind and purifier, fire, destroyer and fulfiller of desire, beloved, desire itself, bestower and master of desires. He originates the ages, turns the cycles of time, wields manifold illusions, the great consumer—manifest yet invisible, conqueror of thousands, victor over the infinite. Desired yet without distinction, esteemed by the noble, adorned with a crest, descendant of Nahusha, righteous as the bull, destroyer and creator of anger, doer, his arms the universe, bearer of the earth. Unwavering and renowned, the vital breath and giver of life, younger brother of Indra, ocean of waters, foundation, ever vigilant and firmly established. He is Skanda, bearer of Skanda, supporter, bestower of boons, mover with the wind, Vāsudeva of vast radiance, the primeval god, destroyer of cities. Free from sorrow, deliverer and savior, valiant son of Shura, lord of people, favorable, revolving a hundred times, lotus-handed and lotus-eyed. His navel and eyes are like lotuses, born from the lotus, sustainer of bodies, prosperous and enriched, ancient in spirit, great-eyed, bearing Garuda on his banner. Unequalled, destroyer of the mighty, formidable, knower of time, acceptor and remover of oblations, marked by all auspicious signs, possessing Lakshmi, victorious in battle. Imperishable and red-hued, the path and cause, one with a rope around his waist, enduring, supporter of the earth, greatly fortunate, swift, and of immeasurable appetite. He is the origin and agitator, divine, womb of prosperity, supreme lord, instrument and cause, unique creator, unfathomable and mysterious. He is resolve, foundation, form, giver of position, constant, of supreme prosperity, perfectly clear, contented, nourished, his gaze auspicious. He brings delight and cessation, free from passion, the path, the one who can be led, guide and non-guide, hero, foremost among the powerful, righteousness and best knower of righteousness. He is Vaikuntha, the cosmic person, vital breath, giver of life, sacred syllable Om, vast, golden-embryo, destroyer of enemies, all-pervading, wind, transcendent. He is the season, one of beautiful vision, time, highest lord, possessor, fierce, the year, skillful, repose, and universally skillful. He is expansion, immovable and stable, the measure, imperishable seed, meaning and non-meaning, great treasury, great enjoyment, and great wealth. Never weary and exceedingly strong, he is the earth, pillar of righteousness, great sacrifice, axis and lord of stars, patient, thin, and the mover. He is sacrifice, worshipped and greatly worshipped, ritual, session, path of the virtuous, all-seeing, liberated in spirit, all-knowing, and supreme knowledge. Firm in vows, pleasant-faced, subtle, melodious in voice, bestower of happiness, good friend, captivator of the mind, conqueror of anger, heroic in arms, destroyer. He causes sleep, self-controlled, all-pervading, of many forms and actions, the year, affectionate, protector of calves, the jewel within, lord of wealth. Thus, in every aspect and attribute, in every act and form, He is the supreme, the source and sustainer, the beloved and revered, the One who encompasses all.
