In the sacred stillness of the universe, I call upon Jātavedas, the divine fire, to bring forth the radiant goddess Lakshmi. She is golden-hued, shining like the sun, adorned with garlands of gold and silver, and her brilliance rivals that of the moon. With her presence, I seek to acquire the treasures of gold, cattle, horses, and the companionship of good people. As I invoke the goddess Śrī, I envision her majestic form, seated in the center of a grand chariot, heralded by the trumpeting of noble elephants. I yearn for her gracious acceptance, as she embodies all that is radiant, moist, and satisfying, blossoming like a lotus surrounded by golden walls. In her, I find refuge—a sanctuary of light and abundance, cherished by the gods and generous in this world. I take shelter in her lotus-bearing essence, praying that she dispels all misfortune from my life. O golden goddess, born from the depths of ascetic power, I recognize the sacred bilva tree as your own. May its fruits, nurtured by austerity, cleanse me of inner turmoil and external hardships. I invite fame, adorned with jewels and accompanied by the friend of the gods, to grace my life. I long for the recognition of my actions and the prosperity that follows. With a heart full of devotion, I banish hunger, thirst, and the elder goddess of misfortune from my home, casting away poverty and lack. I call upon Śrī, the fragrant and unconquerable one, who nourishes all beings and bestows the fruits of our actions. May my mind’s desires be fulfilled, my heart’s resolve strengthened, and may truth flow from my lips. Let the forms of cattle and food, along with the essence of Śrī, bring me excellence and fame. As I reflect on Kardama, the progenitor of lineage, I invite the mother adorned with lotuses to dwell within my family. May the waters of abundance bring forth moisture and prosperity, and may you, O goddess mother Śrī, reside in my household. O Jātavedas, I call upon Lakshmi once more, envisioning her as moist and flourishing, holding a garland of lotuses and radiating splendor like the moon and the sun. Bring to me that steadfast Lakshmi, through whom I may attain abundant gold, cattle, servants, horses, and all that I desire. To those who are pure in heart and devoted in mind, I offer clarified butter daily and recite this hymn, longing for prosperity. O lotus-faced goddess, born from the lotus, may you shower your grace upon me, granting me happiness and abundance. You, who are the giver of horses and cows, the bestower of wealth, I implore you to fulfill my desires. O beloved of the lotus, whose eyes mirror the beauty of blooming petals, may your presence be ever with me. You are the mother of all beings, granting me sons, grandsons, wealth, grain, elephants, horses, and chariots. I seek your blessings for a long and fulfilling life. May wealth approach me as fire, as wind, as the sun, and as treasure. I call upon Indra, Brihaspati, and Varuna to bestow their blessings of wealth upon me. O son of Vinata, let the destroyer of foes partake in the divine Soma; may the lord of Soma grant me the wealth of abundance. For those who are devoted and perform righteous deeds, reciting the Śrī Sūkta, there exists no anger, jealousy, greed, or ill intention. O goddess, who dwells upon the lotus and holds a lotus in your hand, adorned in garments whiter than snow and fragrant with divine garlands, you are beloved of Hari. You enchant the hearts of all and bestow prosperity upon the three worlds—be gracious to me. I bow before you, O goddess, consort of Vishnu, beloved of Mādhava, and dear friend of all. We contemplate Mahālakshmi, meditating upon the consort of Vishnu, seeking her inspiration. May she bestow upon us splendor, long life, health, radiant beauty, and greatness. May abundant grain, wealth, livestock, many sons, and a long life of a hundred years be granted to us, enveloping us in her divine grace.
