ध्यानम् । शान्तं पद्मासनस्थं शशिधरमुकुटं पञ्चवक्त्रं त्रिनेत्रं शूलं वज्रं च खड्गं परशुमभयदं दक्षभागे वहन्तम् । नागं पाशं च घण्टां प्रलयहुतवहं साङ्कुशं वामभागे नानालङ्कारयुक्तं स्फटिकमणिनिभं पार्वतीशं नमामि ॥
Meditation: I bow to the Lord of Parvati, serene, seated in the lotus posture, crowned with the crescent moon, five-faced, three-eyed, bearing the trident, thunderbolt, sword, axe, and the gesture dispelling fear on his right side; on his left, holding a serpent, noose, bell, the fire of dissolution, and goad; adorned with various ornaments, shining like crystal.
स्तोत्रम् । ओं स्थिरः स्थाणुः प्रभुर्भीमः प्रवरो वरदो वरः । सर्वात्मा सर्वविख्यातः सर्वः सर्वकरो भवः ॥ १ ॥
Om. He is firm, steadfast, the Lord, formidable, supreme, the bestower of boons, the choicest; the soul of all, renowned among all, all-pervading, the doer of all, the source of becoming.
जटी चर्मी शिखण्डी च सर्वाङ्गः सर्वभावनः । हरश्च हरिणाक्षश्च सर्वभूतहरः प्रभुः ॥ २ ॥
He is matted-haired, clad in hide, crested, all-limbed, the creator of all beings; Hara, lotus-eyed, the destroyer of all beings, the master.
प्रवृत्तिश्च निवृत्तिश्च नियतः शाश्वतो ध्रुवः । श्मशानवासी भगवान् खचरो गोचरोऽर्दनः ॥ ३ ॥
He is activity and withdrawal, disciplined, eternal, unchanging; the Lord dwelling in cremation grounds, moving in the sky, moving on earth, the half-bodied one.
अभिवाद्यो महाकर्मा तपस्वी भूतभावनः । उन्मत्तवेषप्रच्छन्नः सर्वलोकप्रजापतिः ॥ ४ ॥
He who is to be revered, of great deeds, an ascetic, the originator of beings; who is concealed by a guise of madness, the lord of all worlds and creatures.
महारूपो महाकायो वृषरूपो महायशाः । महात्मा सर्वभूतात्मा विश्वरूपो महाहनुः ॥ ५ ॥
Of great form, of vast body, bull-formed, of great renown; great-souled, the self of all beings, of universal form, with mighty jaws.
लोकपालोऽन्तर्हितात्मा प्रसादो हयगर्दभिः । पवित्रं च महांश्चैव नियमो नियमाश्रितः ॥ ६ ॥
Protector of the worlds, whose self is hidden, gracious, with horses and donkeys; pure and great, discipline itself, and the refuge of the disciplined.
सर्वकर्मा स्वयम्भूत आदिरादिकरो निधिः । सहस्राक्षो विशालाक्षः सोमो नक्षत्रसाधकः ॥ ७ ॥
Performer of all actions, self-born, the first, the originator of the beginning, the treasure; thousand-eyed, wide-eyed, Soma, accomplisher of the stars.
चन्द्रः सूर्यः शनिः केतुर्ग्रहो ग्रहपतिर्वरः । अत्रिरत्र्या नमस्कर्ता मृगबाणार्पणोऽनघः ॥ ८ ॥ [आद्यन्तलयकर्ता च]
He is the moon, the sun, Saturn, Ketu, the planets, the lord of planets, the best; he is Atri, the worshipper of night, the one who sends forth the deer-marked arrow, the sinless one; he is the creator of beginning, end, and dissolution.
महातपा घोरतपा अदीनो दीनसाधकः । संवत्सरकरो मन्त्रः प्रमाणं परमं तपः ॥ ९ ॥
He is of great austerity, of terrible austerity, never destitute, fulfiller of the destitute; he is the maker of the year, the mantra, the supreme measure, the highest penance.
योगी योज्यो महाबीजो महारेता महाबलः । सुवर्णरेताः सर्वज्ञः सुबीजो बीजवाहनः ॥ १० ॥
He is a yogi, to be joined with, the great seed, of great virility, of great strength; of golden seed, all-knowing, of good seed, bearer of the seed.
दशबाहुस्त्वनिमिषो नीलकण्ठ उमापतिः । विश्वरूपः स्वयं श्रेष्ठो बलवीरो बलो गणः ॥ ११ ॥
He is ten-armed, unblinking, blue-throated, the husband of Uma; of universal form, supreme by himself, a mighty hero, strength, and the leader of hosts.
गणकर्ता गणपतिर्दिग्वासाः काम एव च । मन्त्रवित्परमो मन्त्रः सर्वभावकरो हरः ॥ १२ ॥
He is the creator of the hosts, the lord of the hosts, clothed in the directions, and indeed desire itself; knower of mantras, the supreme mantra, the maker of all beings, the remover.
कमण्डलुधरो धन्वी बाणहस्तः कपालवान् । अशनी शतघ्नी खड्गी पट्टिशी चायुधी महान् ॥ १३ ॥
He bears a water-pot, wields a bow, holds arrows in his hand, and carries a skull; he is armed with a thunderbolt, a hundred-bladed weapon, a sword, a spear, and is great among those who bear weapons.
स्रुवहस्तः सुरूपश्च तेजस्तेजस्करो निधिः । उष्णीषी च सुवक्त्रश्च उदग्रो विनतस्तथा ॥ १४ ॥
He holds a sacrificial ladle, is of beautiful form, the radiance that bestows radiance, a treasure; he wears a turban, has a handsome face, is exalted, and also humble.
दीर्घश्च हरिकेशश्च सुतीर्थः कृष्ण एव च । सृगालरूपः सिद्धार्थो मुण्डः सर्वशुभङ्करः ॥ १५ ॥
He is long (or tall), has tawny hair, is of excellent pilgrimage, is indeed dark; he takes the form of a jackal, is accomplished, shaven-headed, and the bringer of all auspiciousness.
अजश्च बहुरूपश्च गन्धधारी कपर्द्यपि । ऊर्ध्वरेता ऊर्ध्वलिङ्ग ऊर्ध्वशायी नभःस्थलः ॥ १६ ॥
He is unborn, of many forms, bearer of fragrance, with matted hair; his energy is directed upwards, his emblem is upwards, he lies upwards, and he is the expanse of the sky.
त्रिजटी चीरवासाश्च रुद्रः सेनापतिर्विभुः । अहश्चरो नक्तञ्चरस्तिग्ममन्युः सुवर्चसः ॥ १७ ॥
He is three-knotted, clothed in bark garments, Rudra, commander of the hosts, all-pervading; he moves by day, moves by night, is of fierce anger, and of radiant splendor.
गजहा दैत्यहा कालो लोकधाता गुणाकरः । सिंहशार्दूलरूपश्च आर्द्रचर्माम्बरावृतः ॥ १८ ॥
He is the slayer of the elephant, the slayer of demons, Time, the supporter of the worlds, the repository of qualities; he takes the forms of lion and tiger, and is clothed in moist hides.
कालयोगी महानादः सर्वकामश्चतुष्पथः । निशाचरः प्रेतचारी भूतचारी महेश्वरः ॥ १९ ॥
He is the master of time, the great sound, fulfiller of all desires, the fourfold path; he moves at night, moves among the departed, moves among spirits, and is the great Lord.
बहुभूतो बहुधरः स्वर्भानुरमितो गतिः । नृत्यप्रियो नित्यनर्तो नर्तकः सर्वलालसः ॥ २० ॥
He who has become many, who bears many forms, who is the eclipse-causing Svarbhanu, who is immeasurable, who is movement itself; who delights in dance, who is the eternal dancer, the performer, and the one who enjoys all pleasures.
घोरो महातपाः पाशो नित्यो गिरिरुहो नभः । सहस्रहस्तो विजयो व्यवसायो ह्यतन्द्रितः ॥ २१ ॥
He is fierce, of great austerity, the noose, eternal, mountain-dwelling, the sky; with a thousand hands, victorious, resolute, and ever untiring.
अधर्षणो धर्षणात्मा यज्ञहा कामनाशकः । [मर्ष] दक्षयागापहारी च सुसहो मध्यमस्तथा ॥ २२ ॥
He is unassailable, the essence of boldness, the destroyer of sacrifices, the destroyer of desire; the one who took away Daksha's sacrifice, who is patient, easily endured, and the mediator.
तेजोपहारी बलहा मुदितोऽर्थोऽजितोऽवरः । गम्भीरघोषो गम्भीरो गम्भीरबलवाहनः ॥ २३ ॥
He is the taker of brilliance, the destroyer of strength, joyful, the meaning itself, unconquered, the lowest; whose voice is deep, who is profound, and whose vehicle is of immense strength.
न्यग्रोधरूपो न्यग्रोधो वृक्षकर्णस्थितिर्विभुः । सुतीक्ष्णदशनश्चैव महाकायो महाननः ॥ २४ ॥
He has the form of the banyan tree, he is the banyan tree itself, he abides in the ears of trees, and he is all-pervading; he has very sharp teeth, a great body, and a great mouth.
विष्वक्सेनो हरिर्यज्ञः सम्युगापीडवाहनः । तीक्ष्णतापश्च हर्यश्वः सहायः कर्मकालवित् ॥ २५ ॥
He is Viṣvaksena, Hari, and the sacrifice; his vehicle is victorious in battle; he is of intense heat, has tawny horses, is a companion, and knows the proper time for action.
विष्णुप्रसादितो यज्ञः समुद्रो बडबामुखः । हुताशनसहायश्च प्रशान्तात्मा हुताशनः ॥ २६ ॥
He is pleased by Viṣṇu, he is the sacrifice, the ocean, and the mouth of the submarine fire; he is accompanied by the fire-god, has a tranquil self, and is himself the fire-god.
उग्रतेजा महातेजा जन्यो विजयकालवित् । ज्योतिषामयनं सिद्धिः सर्वविग्रह एव च ॥ २७ ॥
He is of fierce radiance, of great radiance, the cause of birth, knower of the time of victory; he is the abode of light, accomplishment itself, and indeed all forms.
शिखी मुण्डी जटी ज्वाली मूर्तिजो मूर्धगो बली । वेणवी पणवी ताली खली कालकटङ्कटः ॥ २८ ॥
He is crested, shaven-headed, matted-haired, blazing, born in many forms, crowned, mighty; flute-player, drum-player, cymbalist, fierce, and the dreadful one of dark fangs.
नक्षत्रविग्रहमतिर्गुणबुद्धिर्लयोऽगमः । प्रजापतिर्विश्वबाहुर्विभागः सर्वगोऽमुखः ॥ २९ ॥
He is the embodiment of the stars, intelligence, the quality of discernment, dissolution, the unapproachable; lord of creatures, all-armed, division, all-pervading, and faceless.
