She who is the Mother of all assumes a form for divine sport, free from the bonds of cause and effect. Adorned with the waves of love’s play, her golden earrings shine brilliantly. Though she is unborn and untouched by decay, her charm is ever fresh, and she swiftly bestows grace upon those who turn inward in devotion, while remaining elusive for those distracted by outward pursuits. She embodies the wisdom of the three Vedas and is the abode of the three aims of life—dharma, artha, and kama. Established in the three realms and adorned with the three cities, she is free from all disease and utterly independent, delighting in her own self, and is herself the stream of nectar. This nectar flows from her, and she is skilled in rescuing those lost in the mire of worldly existence. Fond of sacrifices, she is both the performer and the very form of the sacrificer. She is the foundation of righteousness, the overseer of wealth, and the increaser of riches and grain. She delights in Brahmins, assumes their form, and causes the movement of the universe. Yet, she also devours the universe, shining like coral, devoted to Vishnu and assuming his form. Though unborn, she is the abode of all births, unchanging, and the embodiment of lineage. She delights in the assembly of heroes, herself heroic, yet established in a state beyond action. Her nature is sound, and she is skilled in discernment—auspicious, clever, and seated in the bindu. Surpassing all principles, she is composed of them, and is their very essence. She delights in the singing of the Sama Veda, gentle and the consort of Sadashiva. Gentle in nature, she abides in the paths both to the left and right, removing all misfortunes. Established in herself, naturally sweet and steadfast, she is honored by the wise. She is worshipped with offerings of pure consciousness and flowers of awareness, ever arisen and ever satisfied, radiant with the hue of the rising sun. Both the right and left paths worship her, and her lotus-like face shines with a gentle smile. She is the Kaulini, unique and priceless, the giver of absolute liberation. She delights in hymns and is adorned with praise; her glory is extolled by the Vedas. Thoughtful, noble, supreme, and auspicious in form, she is the Mother of the universe, bearer of the world, wide-eyed and detached. Bold and supremely generous, she is supremely joyful and composed of mind. Her hair is the sky, she dwells in the celestial abode, wields the thunderbolt, and reigns as the sovereign of the left-hand path. She loves the five sacrifices and reclines upon a couch of five corpses. She is the fifth, the ruler of the five elements, honored by the number five, eternal, and her sovereignty is everlasting. She bestows happiness and even deludes Śambhu, Shiva. She is the earth, the daughter of the earth, fortunate and righteous, increasing righteousness. She transcends the worlds and qualities, surpasses all, and her essence is tranquility. She resembles the blossom of the Bandhūka flower, youthful and delighting in play, most auspicious, giver of happiness, adorned in splendid attire and fragrant with sweet scents. Pleased by the worship of fragrant women, radiant in beauty and pure in mind, she is satisfied by the offering of the bindu. Born before all, she is the Mother of the Three Cities. She is worshipped through the ten sacred gestures, sovereign of Tripura’s fortune, and controller of Shiva. She is the gesture of knowledge, attainable through knowledge, and her nature is both knowledge and the object to be known. She is the gesture of the womb, mistress of the three divisions, mother of the three qualities, abiding in the triangle. Flawless and wondrous in conduct, she is the bestower of all desired objects. Known through intense practice, she transcends the six paths, embodying spontaneous compassion. She is the lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance. Recognized by all—from children to cowherds—her commands are never transgressed. She resides in the royal Śrīcakra, glorious as Tripurasundarī, the supreme and radiant Mother.
