Hanuman Chalisa

साधुसंतके तुम रखवारे । असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे ॥

You are the protector of the virtuous and the saints, destroyer of demons, beloved of Rama.

अष्ट सिद्धि नव निधि के दाता । असवर दीन्ह जानकी माता ॥

You are the giver of the eight spiritual powers and the nine treasures; Mother Janaki granted you this boon.

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा । सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा ॥

You possess the elixir of devotion to Rama; may you always remain the servant of the Lord of the Raghu dynasty.

तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै । जन्म जन्म के दुख बिसरावै ॥

By singing your praises, one attains Rama and forgets the sorrows of countless lifetimes.

अंतकाल रघुपति पुर जायी । [** रघुवर **] जहाँ जन्मि हरिभक्त कहायी ॥

At the end of life, one goes to the city of the Lord of the Raghus, and wherever born thereafter, is known as a devotee of Hari.

और देवता चित्त न धरयी । हनुमत सेयि सर्वसुखकरयी ॥

The mind does not dwell on other deities; Hanuman alone brings all happiness.

संकट हरै मिटै सब पीरा । जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलवीरा ॥

He removes distress and ends all suffering for those who remember Hanuman, the mighty hero.

जै जै जै हनुमान गोसायी । कृपा करहु गुरु देव की नायी ॥

Victory, victory, victory to you, Hanuman, Lord! Show your grace, as a true Guru and divine master.

यह शतवार पाठ कर जोयी । छूटहि बंदि महासुख होयी ॥

Whoever recites this a hundred times is freed from bondage and attains great happiness.

जो यह पढै हनुमान चालीसा । होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा ॥

Whoever recites this Hanuman Chalisa will attain success, as witnessed by Lord Shiva himself.

तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा । कीजै नाथ हृदय मह डेरा ॥

Tulsidas is always a servant of Lord Hari; O Lord, please make your dwelling in my heart.

पवनतनय संकट हरण मंगळ मूरति रूप ॥ राम लखन सीता सहित हृदय बसहु सुर भूप ॥

O Son of the Wind, remover of distress, embodiment of auspiciousness—together with Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita, reside in my heart, O Lord of the gods.
