आश्विनोऽश्वमुखः शुभ्रो भरणो भरणीप्रियः । कृत्तिकासनगः कोलो रोही रोहणपादुकः
Of the Ashvins, horse-faced, pure, Bharani, beloved of Bharani; seated in Krittika, kola, Rohi, with the sandals of Rohana.
ऋभुवेष्टोऽरिमर्दी च रोहिणीमोहनोऽमृतम् । मृगराजो मृगशिरा माधवो मधुरध्वनिः
Worshipped by the Ribhus, destroyer of enemies, enchanter of Rohini, immortal; king of deer, deer-headed, of spring, with sweet voice.
आर्द्राननो महाबुद्धिर्महोरगविभूषणः । भ्रूक्षेपदत्तविभवो भ्रूकरालः पुनर्मयः
Moist-faced, of great intellect, adorned with mighty serpents; whose wealth is given by the movement of his brows, fierce-browed, ever-creative.
पुनर्देवः पुनर्जेता पुनर्जीवः पुनर्वसुः । तित्तिरिस्तिमिकेतुश्च तिमिचारकघातनः
He who is again a god, again a conqueror, again a living being, again a treasure; he who is a partridge, the banner of darkness, and the destroyer of those who move in darkness.
तिष्यस्तुलाधरो जम्भ्यो विश्लेषोऽश्लेष एणराट् । मानदो माधवो माघो वाचालो मघवोपमः
He who is Tiṣya, bearer of the scales, subduer of pride, separation, non-attachment, lord of antelopes; the giver of honor, related to Mādhava, belonging to Māgha, eloquent, and comparable to Maghavan.
मेध्यो मघाप्रियो मेघो महामुण्डो महाभुजः । पूर्वफाल्गुनिकः स्फीतः फल्गुरुत्तरफाल्गुनः
He who is pure, dear to the Maghā constellation, a cloud, great-headed, strong-armed; associated with Pūrvaphālgunī, abundant, slender, and with Uttaraphālgunī.
फेनिलो ब्रह्मदो ब्रह्मा सप्ततन्तुसमाश्रयः । घोणाहस्तश्चतुर्हस्तो हस्तिवक्त्रो हलायुधः
He who is frothy, bestower of Brahman, Brahmā himself, the refuge of the seven threads; he whose hand is like a trunk, who has four hands, elephant-faced, and wields a plough as a weapon.
चित्राम्बरो ५०० ऽर्चितपदः स्वादितः स्वातिविग्रहः । विशाखः शिखिसेव्यश्च शिखिध्वजसहोदरः
He is adorned with wondrous garments, worshipped at his feet, self-enjoyed, of exceedingly great form; he is Viśākha, served by the peacock, and the brother of the one whose banner bears the peacock.
अणुरेणुः कलास्फारोऽनूरू रेणुसुतो नरः । अनुराधाप्रियो राध्यः श्रीमाञ्छुक्लः शुचिस्मितः
He is subtle as an atom, abundant in powers, minute, son of dust, a man; dear to Anurādhā, worthy of worship, prosperous, bright, and with a pure smile.
ज्येष्ठः श्रेष्ठार्चितपदो मूलं त्रिजगतो गुरुः । शुचिः पूर्वस्तथाषाढश्चोत्तराषाढ ईश्वरः
He is the eldest, whose feet are worshipped by the best, the root of the three worlds, the teacher; pure, associated with Pūrvāṣāḍhā and Uttarāṣāḍhā, and the Lord.
श्रव्योऽभिजिदनन्तात्मा श्रवो वेपितदानवः । श्रावणः श्रवणः श्रोता धनी धन्यो धनिष्ठकः
He is worthy of being heard, victorious, of infinite nature, renowned, the one who made the demons tremble; associated with Śrāvaṇa, the ear, the listener, wealthy, fortunate, and connected with Dhaniṣṭhā.
शातातपः शातकुम्भः शतञ्ज्योतिः शतम्भिषक् । पूर्वाभाद्रपदो भद्रश्चोत्तराभाद्रपादितः
He is the remover of heat, the golden one, the hundred-rayed, the healer of hundreds; he is the presiding deity of Purvabhadrapada, the auspicious one, and the lord of Uttarabhadrapada.
रेणुकातनयो रामो रेवतीरमणो रमी । अश्वियुक् कार्तिकेयेष्टो मार्गशीर्षो मृगोत्तमः
He is the son of Renuka, Rama, beloved of Revati, the delightful one; yoked with horses, worshipped by Kartikeya, presiding over Margashirsha, and the best among deer.
पुष्यशौर्यः फाल्गुनात्मा वसन्तश्चित्रको मधुः । राज्यदोऽभिजिदात्मीयस्तारेशस्तारकद्युतिः
He is the hero of Pushya, the soul of Phalguna, springtime, the one adorned with Chitra, honey; the giver of sovereignty, self of Abhijit, lord of the stars, and radiant like the stars.
प्रतीतः प्रोज्झितः प्रीतः परमः पारमो हितः । परहा पञ्चभूः पञ्चवायुः पूज्यः परं महः
He is renowned, purified, beloved, supreme, the highest, beneficent; the destroyer of others, composed of five elements, the fivefold breath, worthy of worship, and the supreme greatness.
पुराणागमविद् योग्यो महिषो रासभोऽग्रगः । ग्राहो मेषो वृषो मन्दो मन्मथो मिथुनार्चितः
He is fit to know the ancient scriptures and the Āgamas, the buffalo, the ass, the foremost leader; the crocodile, the ram, the bull, the slow one, the god of love, and worshipped by couples.
कल्कभृत् कटको दीनो मर्कटः कर्कटो घृणी । कुक्कुटो वनजो हंसः परहंसः शृगालकः
Bearer of the Kalki, the bracelet, the afflicted, the monkey, the crab, the compassionate; the rooster, born in the forest, the swan, the supreme swan, the jackal.
सिंहः सिंहासनो मूषो मोह्यो मूषकवाहनः ६०० । पुत्रदो नरकत्राता कन्याप्रीतः कुलोद्वहः
The lion, seated on a lion-throne, the mouse, the deluder, the one who rides a mouse; giver of sons, savior from hell, beloved by maidens, uplifter of families.
अतुल्यरूपो बलदस्तुलाभृत् तुल्यसाक्षिकः । अलिचापधरो धन्वी कच्छपो मकरो मणिः
Of incomparable form, giver of strength, bearer of the scales, impartial witness; bearer of the unstrung bow, archer, the tortoise, the makara, the jewel.
स्थिरः प्रभुर्महाकर्मी महाभोगी महायशाः । वसुमूर्तिधरो व्यग्रोऽसुरहारी यमान्तकः
Steadfast, sovereign, performer of great deeds, enjoyer of great pleasures, of great renown; bearer of the form of wealth, swift, destroyer of demons, vanquisher of Yama.
देवाग्रणीर्गणाध्यक्षो ह्यम्बुजालो महामतिः । अङ्गदी कुण्डली भक्तिप्रियो भक्तविवर्धनः
Foremost among the gods, leader of the hosts, lotus-eyed, of great intellect; adorned with armlets, wearing earrings, fond of devotion, increaser of devotion.
गाणपत्यप्रदो मायी वेदवेदान्तपारगः । कात्यायनीसुतो ब्रह्मपूजितो विघ्ननाशनः
Bestower of mastery over the hosts, possessed of illusion, knower of the Vedas and Vedanta; son of Katyayani, worshipped by Brahma, destroyer of obstacles.
संसारभयविध्वंसी महोरस्को महीधरः । विघ्नान्तको महाग्रीवो भृशं मोदकमोदितः
Destroyer of the fear of worldly existence, broad-chested, supporter of the earth; remover of obstacles, great-necked, exceedingly delighted by modaka sweets.
वाराणसीप्रियो मानी गहन आखुवाहनः । गुहाश्रयो विष्णुपदीतनयः स्थानदो ध्रुवः
He who is fond of Varanasi, dignified, profound, the one who rides the mouse; dwelling in the cave, son of Vishnu's daughter, bestower of place, and steadfast.
परर्द्धिस्तुष्टो विमलो मौलिमान् वल्लभाप्रियः । चतुर्दशीप्रियो मान्यो व्यवसायो मदान्वितः
He who is supremely prosperous, satisfied, pure, crowned, dear to Vallabha; fond of the fourteenth day, worthy of honor, resolute, and filled with vigor.
अचिन्त्यः सिंहयुगलनिविष्टो बालरूपधृत् । धीरः शक्तिमतां श्रेष्ठो महाबलसमन्वितः
He who is inconceivable, seated with a pair of lions, assuming the form of a child; steadfast, foremost among the powerful, endowed with great strength.
सर्वात्मा हितकृद्वैद्यो महाकुक्षिर्महामतिः । करणं मृत्युहारी च पापसङ्घनिवर्तकः
He who is the soul of all, benefactor, healer, of great belly, of great intellect; the means, remover of death, and dispeller of all clusters of sin.
उद्भिद्वज्री महादैत्यसूदनो दीनरक्षकः । भूतचारी प्रेतचारी बुद्धिरूपो मनोमयः
He who wields the thunderbolt that bursts forth, the great slayer of demons, the protector of the distressed; he who moves among spirits and ghosts, whose form is intelligence, who is made of mind.
अहङ्कारवपुः साङ्ख्यपुरुषस्त्रिगुणात्मकः । तन्मात्ररूपो भूतात्मा इन्द्रियात्मा वशीकरः
He whose body is ego, the Puruṣa of Sāṅkhya philosophy, whose nature is the three qualities; whose form is the subtle elements, who is the soul of beings, the essence of the senses, the subduer.
मलत्रयबहिर्भूतो ह्यवस्थात्रयवर्जितः । नीरूपो बहुरूपश्च किन्नरो नागविक्रमः
He who is beyond the three impurities, who is free from the three states of consciousness; formless yet of many forms, a celestial musician, possessing the might of serpents.
