Ganesha Sahasranama

अचिन्त्योऽचिन्त्यरूपश्च चन्दनाकुलमुण्डकः । लिपितो लोहितो लुप्तो १०० लोहिताक्षो विलोभकः

He is inconceivable; of an unimaginable form; his head is fragrant with sandalwood; smeared and anointed; red-hued; hidden; red-eyed; the enchanter.

लुब्धाशयो लोभरतो लाभदोऽलङ्घ्यगात्रकः । सुन्दरः सुन्दरीपुत्रः समस्तासुरघातनः

He whose nature is covetous; delighting in gain; bestower of profit; whose limbs cannot be overcome; beautiful; son of the beautiful one; destroyer of all demons.

नूपुराढ्यो विभवदो नरो नारायणो रविः । विचारी वान्तदो वाग्मी वितर्की विजयेश्वरः

He is adorned with anklets, bestower of prosperity, manly, the refuge of all, radiant as the sun; he is thoughtful, remover of impurities, eloquent, discerning, and lord of victory.

सुप्तो बुद्धः सदारूपः सुखदः सुखसेवितः । विकर्तनो वियच्चारी विनटो नर्तको नटः

He is asleep, awakened, ever in his true form, giver of happiness, attended by joy; he is the one who cuts, moves through space, disappears, dances, and is an actor.

नाट्यो नाट्यप्रियो नादोऽनन्तोऽनन्तगुणात्मकः । विश्वभूर्विश्वघाती च विनतास्यो विनर्तकः

He is the dancer, lover of dance, sound itself, infinite, of infinite qualities; he is the foundation of the universe, destroyer of the universe, with a humble face, and a skillful dancer.

करालः कामदः कान्तः कमनीयः कलाधरः । कारुण्यरूपः कुटिलः कुलाचारी कुलेश्वरः

He is fierce, fulfiller of desires, beloved, charming, bearer of arts; he is the embodiment of compassion, crooked, follower of family traditions, and lord of the lineage.

विकरालो गणश्रेष्ठः संहारो हारभूषणः । रुरु रम्यमुखो रक्तो रेवतीदयितो रसः

He who is fierce, the foremost among the hosts, the destroyer, adorned with garlands; who has a pleasing face, is red in hue, beloved of Revati, and is the essence.

महाकालो महादंष्ट्रो महोरगभयापहः । उन्मत्तरूपः कालाग्निरग्निसूर्येन्दुलोचनः

He who is the great Time, with great fangs, remover of the fear of great serpents; who has a mad form, is the fire of time, and whose eyes are fire, sun, and moon.

सितास्यः सितमाल्यश्च सितदन्तः सितांशुमान् । असितात्मा भैरवेशो भाग्यवान् भगवान् भगः

He whose mouth is white, who wears white garlands, who has white teeth, who shines with white rays; whose nature is dark, lord of Bhairavas, fortunate, divine, and the bestower of prosperity.

भर्गात्मजो भगावासो भगदो भगवर्धनः । शुभङ्करः शुचिः शान्तः श्रेष्यः श्रव्यः शचीपतिः

He who is the son of Bharga, dweller in fortune, giver of fortune, increaser of fortune; who brings auspiciousness, is pure, peaceful, excellent, worthy of being heard, and lord of Śacī.

वेदाद्यो वेदकर्ता च वेदवेद्यः सनातनः । विद्याप्रदो वेदसारो वैदिको वेदपारगः

He who is the origin of the Vedas, the creator of the Vedas, the one to be known through the Vedas, eternal; the bestower of knowledge, the essence of the Vedas, Vedic, and the one who has crossed the Vedas.

वेदध्वनिरतो वीरो वरो वेदागमार्थवित् । तत्त्वज्ञः सवर्गः साधुः सदयः सद् २०० असन्मयः

He who delights in the sound of the Vedas, heroic, excellent, knower of the meaning of the Vedas and Āgamas; knower of truth, possessing heaven, virtuous, compassionate, composed of existence and non-existence.

निरामयो निराकारो निर्भयो नित्यरूपभृत् । । निर्वैरो वैरिविध्वंसी मत्तवारणसन्निभः

He who is free from disease, formless, fearless, bearer of the eternal form; without enmity, destroyer of enemies, resembling an intoxicated elephant.

शिवङ्करः शिवसुतः शिवः सुखविवर्धनः । श्वैत्यः श्वेतः शतमुखो मुग्धो मोदकभोजनः

Bestower of auspiciousness, son of Śiva, auspicious, increaser of happiness; pure, white, hundred-faced, charming, and eater of modaka sweets.

देवदेवो दिनकरो धृतिमान् द्युतिमान् धवः । शुद्धात्मा शुद्धमतिमाञ्छुद्धदीप्तिः शुचिव्रतः

God of gods, source of light, steadfast, radiant, lord; pure in soul, of pure mind, of pure brilliance, and devoted to purity.

शरण्यः शौनकः शूरः शरदम्भोजधारकः । दारकः शिखिवाहेष्टः शीतः शङ्करवल्लभः

Refuge for all, honored by sages, heroic, bearer of autumn lotuses; childlike, beloved of the peacock rider, cool, and dear to Shiva.

शङ्करो निर्भवो नित्यो लयकृल्लास्यतत्परः । निर्भयो लूतो लीलारसोल्लासी विलासी विभ्रमो भ्रमः

Auspicious one, without origin, eternal, dissolver, devoted to dance; fearless, playful, delighting in the nectar of sport, graceful, source of illusion, and illusion itself.

भ्रमणः शशभृत् सूर्यः शनिर्धरणिनन्दनः । बुद्धो विबुधसेव्यश्च बुधराजो बलन्धरः

Wanderer, moon-bearer, sun, Saturn, delight of the earth; awakened, served by the wise, lord of the earth, and bearer of strength.

जीवो जीवप्रदो जैत्रः स्तुत्यो नुत्यो नतिप्रियः । जनको जिनमार्गज्ञो जैनमार्गनिवर्तकः

He is the soul, the giver of life, victorious, worthy of praise, to be lauded, dear to those who bow; the creator, knower of the path of the Jinas, and the one who turns away from the Jain path.

गौरीसुतो गुरुरवो गौराङ्गो गजपूजितः । परं पदं परं धाम परमात्मा कविः कुजः

He is the son of Gauri, the one with the voice of a teacher, fair-limbed, worshipped by elephants; the supreme state, the highest abode, the supreme self, a poet, and born under Mars.

राहुर्दैत्यशिरश्छेदी केतुः कनककुण्डलः । ग्रहेन्द्रो ग्राहितो ग्राह्योऽग्रणीर्घुर्घुरनादितः

He is Rahu, the slayer of demon heads, Ketu, adorned with golden earrings; lord of the planets, the one who seizes, to be seized, the foremost, and the originator of deep sounds.

पर्जन्यः पीवरो पोत्री पीनवक्षाः परार्जितः । वनेचरो वनपतिर्वनवासः स्मरोपमः

He is like the rain-cloud, stout, the protector, broad-chested, supremely victorious; dweller in the forest, lord of the forest, resident of the woods, and comparable to Kama, the god of love.

पुण्यं पूतः पवित्रं च परात्मा पूर्णविग्रहः । पूर्णेन्दुशकलाकारो मन्युः पूर्णमनोरथः

He is virtue, purified, and holy; the supreme Self, of complete form; his appearance is like the full moon's digit; he is wrath, and the fulfiller of all desires.

युगात्मा योगभृत् यज्वा ३०० याज्ञिको यज्ञवत्सलः । योगभृद् यशस्वी यजमानेष्टो व्रजभृद् वज्रपञ्जरः

He is the soul of the ages, upholder of yoga, performer of sacrifices, knower of sacrifice, and lover of sacrifices; he supports yoga, is renowned, dear to those who offer, sustainer of herds, and has a body like a thunderbolt cage.

मणिभद्रो मणिमयो मान्यो मीनध्वजाश्रितः । मीनध्वजो मनोहारी योगिनां योगवर्धनः

He is Maṇibhadra, made of jewels, worthy of honor, the refuge of the fish-bannered one; he is the fish-bannered, captivating, and increases the yoga of yogis.

द्रष्टा स्रष्टा तपस्वी च विग्रही तापसप्रियः । तपोमयस्तपोमूर्तिस्तपनश्च तपोधनः

He is the seer, creator, ascetic, possessor, and beloved of ascetics; he is made of austerity, the embodiment of austerity, the sun, and rich in austerity.

रुचको मोचको रुष्टस्तुष्टस्तोमरधारकः । दण्डी चण्डांशुरव्यक्तः कमण्डलुधरोऽनघः

He is radiant, the liberator, wrathful, pleased, bearer of the spear, staff-holder, fierce-rayed, unmanifest, holder of the water-pot, and sinless.

कामी कर्मरतः कालः कोलः क्रन्दितदिक्तटः । भ्रामको जातिपूज्यश्च जाड्यहा जडसूदनः

He is passionate, engaged in action, time itself, the boar, whose cry echoes to the directions, the wanderer, worshipped by his lineage, destroyer of dullness, and slayer of the inert.

जालन्धरो जगद्वासी हासकृधवनो हविः । हविष्मान् हव्यवाहाक्षो हाटको हाटकाङ्गदः

He is Jalandhara, dweller in the world, creator of laughter, forest-dweller, the oblation, endowed with offerings, with fire as his eye, golden, and adorned with golden armlets.
