There was once a seeker who approached the path of liberation with sincerity. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to the lotus feet of his Guru, understanding that such reverence and surrender would swiftly free him from the bonds of worldly existence. Through diligent self-control—mastering both his senses and his restless mind—he began to perceive the divine presence shining within his own heart. Meanwhile, there was a grammarian, absorbed in the complexities of language and the endless study of rules such as 'ḍukṛñ'. Despite his learning, he remained burdened and confused. Seeing his plight, the blessed Śaṅkara, the divine teacher, gently guided him, urging him to awaken true understanding beyond mere intellectual pursuits. The message was clear and resounded with urgency: “Worship Govinda, worship Govinda, worship Govinda, O foolish mind! There is no other way to cross the ocean of worldly existence than to remember His holy name.” Thus, the wisdom of devotion and remembrance shone as the only sure path to liberation.
