याम् इषुं गिरिशन्त हस्ते बिभर्ष्य् अस्तवे । शिवां गिरित्र तां कुरु मा हिꣳसीः पुरुषं जगत्
The arrow you hold in your hand, O mountain-lord, make it auspicious, O Giritra; do not harm people or the world.
शिवेन वचसा त्वा गिरिशाच्छा वदामसि । यथा नः सर्वम् इज् जगद् अयक्ष्मꣳ सुमना ऽ असत्
With gentle words we address you, O mountain-dweller; so that all the world may be free from sickness and be benevolent toward us.
अध्य् अवोचद् अधिवक्ता प्रथमो दैव्यो भिषक् । अहीꣳश् च सर्वान् जम्भयन्त् सर्वाश् च यातुधान्यो ऽधराचीः परा सुव
The divine healer spoke first, the supreme advocate; he subdues all serpents and drives away all evil spirits downward.
असौ यस् ताम्रो ऽ अरुण ऽ उत बभ्रुः सुमङ्गलः । ये चैनꣳ रुद्रा ऽ अभितो दिक्षु श्रिताः सहस्रशो वैषाꣳ हेड ऽ ईमहे
That one who is copper-red, ruddy, and tawny, most auspicious; and those Rudras who surround him in all directions by the thousands, we invoke their favor.
असौ यो ऽवसर्पति नीलग्रीवो विलोहितः । उतैनं गोपा ऽ अदृश्रन्न् अदृश्रन्न् उदहार्यः स दृष्टो मृडयाति नः
That one who descends, blue-necked and red, whom the herdsman and the water-bearer have seen; when he is seen, may he show us mercy.
नमो ऽस्तु नीलग्रीवाय सहस्राक्षाय मीढुषे । अथो ये ऽ अस्य सत्वानो ऽहं तेभ्यो ऽकरं नमः
Salutations to the blue-necked, thousand-eyed, gracious one; and to all his beings, I offer my salutations.
प्र मुञ्च धन्वनस् त्वम् उभयोर् आर्त्न्योर् ज्याम् । याश् च ते हस्त ऽ इषवः ऽ परा ता भगवो वप
Release the bowstring from both ends of your bow; and those arrows in your hand, O Lord, cast them away.
विज्यं धनुः कपर्दिनो विशल्यो वाणवाꣳ२ऽ उत । अनेशन्न् अस्य याऽइषव ऽआभुर् अस्य निषङ्गधिः
Let the bow of the matted-haired one be unstrung, let his arrows be without injury; let his arrows not be released, let his quiver remain closed.
या ते हेतिर् मीढुष्टम हस्ते बभूव ते धनुः । तयास्मान् विश्वतस् त्वम् अयक्ष्मया परि भुज
That missile of yours, most generous, which is in your hand, your bow— with it, shield us from all sides, keeping us free from harm.
परि ते धन्वनो हेतिर् अस्मान् वृणक्तु विश्वतः । अथो य ऽइषुधिस् तवारे ऽ अस्मिन् नि धेहि तम्
May the missile from your bow protect us on every side; and now, place your quiver aside in this place.
अवतत्य धनुष् ट्वꣳ सहस्राक्ष शतेषुधे । निशीर्य शल्यानां मुखा शिवो नः सुमना भव
Lower your bow, O thousand-eyed, with a hundred quivers; break apart the points of the arrows, and be auspicious and kindly toward us.
नमस् त ऽ आयुधायानातताय धृष्णवे । उभाभ्याम् उत ते नमो बाहुभ्यां तव धन्वने
Salutation to your weapon, to the one who has drawn it, to the mighty; salutation to both your arms and to your bow.
मा नो महान्तम् उत मा नो ऽ अर्भकं मा न ऽ उक्षन्तम् उत मा न ऽ उक्षितम् । मा नो वधीः पितरं मोत मातरं मा नः प्रियास् तन्वो रुद्र रीरिषः
Do not harm the great nor the small, do not harm the young nor the grown; do not strike our father nor our mother, do not injure our beloved bodies, O Rudra.
मा नस् तोके तनये मा न ऽ आयुषि मा नो गोषु मा नो ऽ अश्वेषु रीरिषः । मा नो वीरान् रुद्र भामिनो वधीर् हविष्मन्तः सदम् इत् त्वा हवामहे
Do not harm our children or descendants, do not harm our lifespan, do not harm our cattle nor our horses; do not strike our heroic, radiant men, O Rudra, those who offer oblations— we always invoke you.
नमो हिरण्यबाहवे सेनान्ये दिशां च पतये नमो नमो वृक्षेभ्यो हरिकेशेभ्यः पशूनां पतये नमो नमः शष्पिञ्जराय त्विषीमते पथीनां पतये नमो नमो हरिकेशायोपवीतिने पुष्टानां पतये नमः
Salutation to the golden-armed, to the commander, to the lord of directions; salutation to the trees, to the green-haired, to the lord of cattle; salutation to the tawny, radiant one, to the lord of paths; salutation to the green-haired, adorned, to the lord of nourishment.
नमो बभ्लुशाय व्याधिने ऽन्नानां पतये नमो नमो भवस्य हेत्यै जगतां पतये नमो नमो रुद्रायाततायिने क्षेत्राणां पतये नमो नमः सूतायाहन्त्यै वनानां पतये नमः
Salutation to the roaring one, to the hunter, to the lord of food; salutation to the weapon of Bhava, to the lord of beings; salutation to Rudra, the archer, to the lord of fields; salutation to the charioteer, the destroyer, to the lord of forests.
नमो रोहिताय स्थपतये वृक्षाणां पतये नमो नमो भुवन्तये वारिवस्कृतायौषधीनां पतये नमो नमो मन्त्रिणे वाणिजाय कक्षाणां पतये नमो नम ऽ उच्चैर्घोषायाक्रन्दयते पत्तीनां पतये नमः
Salutation to the red one, the builder, to the lord of trees; salutation to the earth-dweller, the water-maker, to the lord of herbs; salutation to the counselor, the merchant, to the lord of enclosures; salutation to the loud-voiced, the wailer, to the lord of foot-soldiers.
नमः कृत्स्नायतया धावते सत्वनां पतये नमो नमः सहमानाय निव्याधिनऽ आव्याधिनीनां पतये नमो नमो निषङ्गिणे ककुभाय स्तेनानां पतये नमो नमो निचेरवे परिचरायारण्यानां पतये नमः
Salutation to the all-pervading runner, to the lord of beings; salutation to the enduring, the piercer, to the lord of piercers; salutation to the quiver-bearer, the watchful, to the lord of thieves; salutation to the low-voiced, the wanderer, to the lord of wilderness.
नमो वञ्चते परिवञ्चते स्तायूनां पतये नमो नमो निषङ्गिण ऽ इषुधिमते तस्कराणां पतये नमो नमः सृकायिभ्यो जिघाꣳसद्भ्यो मुष्णतां पतये नमो नमो ऽसिमद्भ्यो नक्तं चरद्भ्यो विकृन्तानां पतये नमः
Salutation to the deceiver, the circumventer, to the lord of robbers; salutation to the quiver-bearer, the arrow-holder, to the lord of thieves; salutation to the cutters, the slayers, to the lord of those who steal; salutation to the sword-bearers, the night-wanderers, to the lord of those who cut.
नम ऽ उष्णीषिणे गिरिचराय कुलुञ्चानां पतये नमो नम ऽ इषुमद्भ्यो धन्वायिभ्यश् च वो नमो नम ऽ आतन्वानेभ्यः प्रतिदधानेभ्यश् च वो नमो नम ऽ आयच्छद्भ्यो स्यद्भ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the turbaned, the mountain-dweller, to the lord of wanderers; salutation to the arrow-bearers, the bowmen, to you; salutation to the stringers, the replacers, to you; salutation to the drawers, the shooters, to you.
नमो विसृजद्भ्यो विध्यद्भ्यश् च वो नमो नमः स्वपद्भ्यो जाग्रद्भ्यश् च वो नमो नमः शयानेभ्य ऽ आसीनेभ्यश् च वो नमो नमस् तिष्ठद्भ्यो धावद्भ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the releasers, the shooters, to you; salutation to the sleepers, the wakeful, to you; salutation to the lying down, the sitting, to you; salutation to the standing, the running, to you.
नमः सभाभ्यः सभापतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो ऽश्वेभ्यो ऽश्वपतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नम ऽ आव्याधिनीभ्यो विविध्यन्तीभ्यश् च वो नमो नम ऽ उगणाभ्यस् तृꣳहतीभ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the assemblies, to the leaders of assemblies, to you; salutation to the horses, to the lords of horses, to you; salutation to the female piercers, the female shooters, to you; salutation to the troops, the mighty ones, to you.
नमो गणेभ्यो गणपतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो व्रातेभ्यो व्रातपतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो गृत्सेभ्यो गृत्सपतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो विरूपेभ्यो विश्वरूपेभ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the groups, to the lords of groups, to you; salutation to the hosts, to the lords of hosts, to you; salutation to the clever, to the lords of clever ones, to you; salutation to the deformed, to the all-formed, to you.
नमः सेनाभ्यः सेनानिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो रथिभ्यो ऽ अरथेभ्यश् च वो नमो नमः क्षत्तृभ्यः संग्रहीतृभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो महद्भ्यो ऽ अर्भकेभ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the armies, to the commanders, to you; salutation to the charioteers, to the non-charioteers, to you; salutation to the drivers, the gatherers, to you; salutation to the great, to the small, to you.
नमस् तक्षभ्यो रथकारेभ्यश् च वो नमो नमः कुलालेभ्यः कर्मारेभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो निषादेभ्यः पुञ्जिष्ठेभ्यश् च वो नमो नमः श्वनिभ्यो मृगयुभ्यश् च वो नमः
Salutation to the carpenters, to the chariot-makers, to you; salutation to the potters, the artisans, to you; salutation to the Nishadas, the heap-makers, to you; salutation to the dogs, the hunters, to you.
नमः श्वभ्यः श्वपतिभ्यश् च वो नमो नमो भवाय च रुद्राय च नमः शर्वाय च पशुपतये च नमो नीलग्रीवाय च शितिकण्ठाय च
Salutation to the dogs, to the lords of dogs, to you; salutation to Bhava and to Rudra; salutation to Sharva and to the lord of cattle; salutation to the blue-necked and to the fair-throated.
नमः कपर्दिने च व्युप्तकेशाय च नमः सहस्राक्षाय च शतधन्वने च नमो गिरिशयाय च शिपिविष्टाय च नमो मीढुष्टमाय चेषुमते च
Salutations to the one with matted hair and to the shaven-headed; salutations to the thousand-eyed and to the bearer of a hundred bows; salutations to the lord of the mountains and to the one who is pervading; salutations to the most generous and to the swift-moving.
नमो ह्रस्वाय च वामनाय च नमो बृहते च वर्षीयसे च नमो वृद्धाय च सवृधे च नमो ऽग्र्याय च प्रथमाय च
Salutations to the short and to the dwarf; salutations to the great and to the greater; salutations to the aged and to the one who increases; salutations to the foremost and to the first.
नम ऽ आशवे चाजिराय च नमः शीघ्र्याय च शीभ्याय च नम ऽ ऊर्म्याय चावस्वन्याय च नमो नादेयाय च द्वीप्याय च
Salutations to the swift and to the fleet; salutations to the rapid and to the quick; salutations to the wave and to the flowing; salutations to the roaring and to the island-dweller.
नमो ज्येष्ठाय च कनिष्ठाय च नमः पूर्वजाय चापरजाय च नमो मध्यमाय चापगल्भाय च नमो जघन्याय च बुध्न्याय च
Salutations to the eldest and to the youngest; salutations to the one born before and to the one born after; salutations to the one in the middle and to the one not fully grown; salutations to the lowest and to the one at the base.
