इदं उत्तरात् स्वः । तस्य श्रोत्रꣳ सौवम् । शरच् छ्रौत्री । अनुष्टुप् शारदी । अनुष्टुभ ऽ ऐडम् । ऐडान् मन्थी । मन्थिन ऽ एकविꣳशः ऽ । एकविꣳशाद् वैराजम् । विश्वामित्र ऽ ऋषिः । प्रजापतिगृहीतया त्वया श्रोत्रं गृह्णामि प्रजाभ्यः
This is the heaven from the north. Its ear is the Sauman chant. Sharad is the ear-season. Anuṣṭup is the Sharad meter. The Anuṣṭup is Aiḍam. Aiḍam is the churner. The churner is twenty-one. From twenty-one comes the Vairāja. Viśvāmitra is the seer. With you, taken by Prajāpati, I take the ear for the people.
इयं उपरि मतिः । तस्यै वाङ् मात्या । हेमन्तो वाच्यः । पङ्क्तिर् हैमन्ती । पङ्क्त्यै निधनवत् । निधनवत ऽ आग्रयणः । आग्रयणात् त्रिणवत्रयस्त्रिꣳशौ । त्रिणवत्रयस्त्रिꣳशाभ्याꣳ शाक्वररैवते । विश्वकर्म ऽ ऋषिः । प्रजापतिगृहीतया त्वया वाचं गृह्णामि प्रजाभ्यः । [ लोकं पृण छिद्रं पृणाथो सीद ध्रुवा त्वम् । इन्द्राग्नी त्वा बृहस्पतिर् अस्मिन् योनाव् असीषदन् । ता अस्य सूददोहसः सोमꣳ श्रीणन्ति पृश्नयः । जन्मन् देवानां विशस् त्रिष्व् आ रोचने दिवः । इन्द्रं विश्वा अवीवृधन्त् समुद्रव्यचसं गिरः । रथीतमꣳ रथीनां वाजानाꣳ सत्पतिं पतिम् ॥ ]???
This is the thought above. Speech is its mother. Hemanta is the season of speech. Paṅkti is the Hemanta meter. Paṅkti is with a close. With a close is the Āgrayaṇa. From Āgrayaṇa come the thirty-nine. From the thirty-nine come the Śākvara and Raivata. Viśvakarman is the seer. With you, taken by Prajāpati, I take speech for the people.
ध्रुवक्षितिर् ध्रुवयोनिर् ध्रुवासि ध्रुवं योनिम् आ सीद साधुया । उख्यस्य केतुं प्रथमं जुषाणा । अश्विनाध्वर्यू सादयताम् इह त्वा
You are the firm earth, the firm womb; you are firm, sit in the firm womb with goodness. Accept the foremost banner of the yoked one. May the Aśvins, the priests, seat you here.
कुलायिनी घृतवती पुरंधिः स्योने सीद सदने पृथिव्याः । अभि त्वा रुद्रा वसवो गृणन्त्व् इमा ब्रह्म पीपिहि सौभगाय । अश्विनाध्वर्यू सादयताम् इह त्वा
O nest-builder, rich in ghee, bountiful one, sit happily in the seat of earth. May the Rudras and Vasus praise you; protect these prayers for good fortune. May the Aśvins, the priests, seat you here.
स्वैर् दक्षैर् दक्षपितेह सीद देवानाꣳ सुम्ने बृहते रणाय । पितेवैधि सूनव ऽ आ सुशेवा स्वावेशा तन्वा सं विशस्व । अश्विनाध्वर्यू सादयताम् इह त्वा

अदित्यास् त्वा पृष्ठे सादयाम्य् अन्तरिक्षस्य धर्त्रीं विष्टम्भनीं दिशामधिपत्नीं भुवनानामूर्मिर् द्रप्सो ऽ अपाम् असि विश्वकर्मा त ऽ ऋषिः । अश्विनाध्वर्यू सादयताम् इह त्वा
I seat you, O Adityas, on the back, supporter and pillar of the midspace, mistress of the directions, wave of the worlds, drop of the waters; you are Viśvakarman, the seer. May the Aśvins, the priests, seat you here.
शुक्रश् च शुचिश् च ग्रीष्माव् ऋतू ऽ अग्नेर् अन्तःश्लेषो ऽसि कल्पेतां द्यावापृथिवी कल्पन्ताम् आप ऽ ओषधयः कल्पन्ताम् अग्नयः पृथङ् नम ज्यैष्ठ्याय सव्रताः । ये ऽ अग्नयः समनसो ऽन्तरा द्यावापृथिवी ऽ इमे ग्रैष्माव् ऋतू ऽ अभिकल्पमानाऽ इन्द्रम् इव देवा ऽ अभिसं विशन्तु तया देवतयाङ्गिरस्वद् ध्रुवे सीदतम्
Śukra and Śuci are the summer seasons; you are the inner binding of Agni. May heaven and earth be prepared, may the waters and plants be prepared, may the fires be prepared separately, with supremacy and firm vows. The fires that are united between heaven and earth, these summer seasons being prepared, may the gods enter as they do Indra. With that divinity, O Angiras, sit firmly.

इन्द्राग्नी ऽ अव्यथमानाम् इष्टकां दृꣳहतं युवम् । पृष्ठेन द्यावापृथिवी ऽ अन्तरिक्षं च विबाधसे
O Indra and Agni, make the brick unshakable. With its back you support heaven, earth, and the midspace.
विश्वकर्मा त्वा सादयत्व् अन्तरिक्षस्य पृष्ठे व्यचस्वतीं प्रथस्वतीम् अन्तरिक्षं यच्छान्तरिक्षं दृꣳहान्तरिक्षं मा हिꣳसीः । विश्वस्मै प्राणायापानाय व्यानायोदानाय प्रतिष्ठायै चरित्राय । वायुष् ट्वाभि पातु मह्या स्वस्त्या छर्दिषा शंतमेन तया देवतयाङ्गिरस्वद् ध्रुवा सीद
May Viśvakarman seat you on the back of the midspace, shining and spreading; hold, establish, and do not harm the midspace. For all, for breath, for downward breath, for diffused breath, for upward breath, for stability, for conduct. May Vāyu protect you with greatness, with welfare, with a shield, with peace; with that divinity, O Angiras, sit firmly.

Agni is the deity. Vāyu is the deity. Sūrya is the deity. Candramas is the deity. The Vasus are the deities. The Rudras are the deities. The Ādityas are the deities. The Maruts are the deities. All the gods are the deities. Bṛhaspati is the deity. Indra is the deity. Varuṇa is the deity.
मूर्धासि राड् ध्रुवासि धरुणा धर्त्र्य् असि धरणी । आयुषे त्वा वर्चसे त्वा कृष्यै त्वा क्षेमाय त्वा
You are the crown, the ruler, the steadfast support, the bearer, the earth. For life, for brilliance, for agriculture, for well-being, I consecrate you.
यन्त्री राड् यन्त्र्य् असि यमनी ध्रुवासि धरित्री । इषे त्वोर्जे त्वा रय्यै त्वा पोषाय त्वा । लोकं पृण छिद्रं पृणाथो सीद ध्रुवा त्वम् । इन्द्राग्नी त्वा बृहस्पतिर् अस्मिन् योनाव् असीषदन् । ता अस्य सूददोहसः सोमꣳ श्रीणन्ति पृश्नयः । जन्मन् देवानां विशस् त्रिष्व् आ रोचने दिवः । इन्द्रं विश्वा अवीवृधन्त् समुद्रव्यचसं गिरः । रथीतमꣳ रथीनां वाजानाꣳ सत्पतिं पतिम्
You are the controller, the ruler, the restrainer, the steadfast, the supporter. For nourishment, for vigor, for wealth, for prosperity, I consecrate you. Fill the world, fill the gap, sit firm. Indra and Agni, Bṛhaspati, have established you in this womb. The Prishni cows prepare Soma for him, the milkers. At the birth of the gods, the clans in the three luminous realms of heaven. All voices magnified Indra, the one whose domain is the ocean, the best charioteer among charioteers, the true lord of prizes.

The swift is threefold. The shining is fifteenfold. The sky is seventeenfold. The support is twenty-onefold. The outpouring is eighteenfold. The heat is nineteenfold. The returning is twenty-sixfold. The brilliance is twenty-twofold. The gathering is twenty-threefold. The womb is twenty-fourfold. The embryos are twenty-fivefold. The vigor is thirty-ninefold. The will is thirty-onefold. The foundation is thirty-threefold. The expanse of Bradhna is thirty-fourfold. The summit is thirty-sixfold. The turning is forty-eightfold. The sustainer is fourfold.
अग्नेर् भागो ऽसि दीक्षाया ऽ आधिपत्यं ब्रह्म स्पृतं त्रिवृत् स्तोमः । इन्द्रस्य भागो ऽसि विष्णोर् आधिपत्यं क्षत्रꣳ स्पृतं पञ्चदशः स्तोमः । नृचक्षसां भागो ऽसि धातुर् आधिपत्यं जनित्रꣳ स्पृतꣳ सप्तदशः स्तोमः । मित्रस्य भागो ऽसि वरुणस्याधिपत्यं दिवो वृष्टिर् वात स्पृत ऽएकविꣳश स्तोमः
You are the portion of Agni, the lordship of consecration, the touch of Brahman, the threefold hymn. You are the portion of Indra, the lordship of Viṣṇu, the touch of sovereignty, the fifteenfold hymn. You are the portion of the seers of men, the lordship of the supporter, the touch of the begetter, the seventeenfold hymn. You are the portion of Mitra, the lordship of Varuṇa, the rain of heaven, the touch of wind, the twenty-onefold hymn.
वसूनां भागो ऽसि रुद्राणाम् आधिपत्यं चतुष्पात् स्पृतं चतुर्विꣳश स्तोमः । आदित्यानां भागो ऽसि मरुताम् आधिपत्यं गर्भा स्पृताः पञ्चविꣳश स्तोमः । अदित्यै भागो ऽसि पूष्ण ऽ आधिपत्यम् ओज स्पृतं त्रिणव स्तोमः । देवस्य सवितुर् भागो ऽसि बृहस्पतेर् आधिपत्यꣳ समीचीर् दिश स्पृताश् चतुष्टोम स्तोमः
You are the portion of the Vasus, the lordship of the Rudras, the touch of the four-footed, the twenty-fourfold hymn. You are the portion of the Ādityas, the lordship of the Maruts, the touch of the embryos, the twenty-fivefold hymn. You are the portion of Aditi, the lordship of Pūṣan, the touch of vigor, the thirty-ninefold hymn. You are the portion of the god Savitar, the lordship of Bṛhaspati, the touch of the favorable directions, the fourfold hymn.
यवानां भागो ऽस्य् अयवानाम् आधिपत्यं प्रजा स्पृताश् चतुश्चत्वारिꣳश स्तोमः । ऋभूणां भागो ऽसि विश्वेषां देवानाम् आधिपत्यं भूतꣳ स्पृतं त्रयस्त्रिꣳश स्तोमः
You are the portion of the barley, the lordship of the non-barley, the touch of offspring, the forty-fourfold hymn. You are the portion of the Ṛbhus, the lordship of all the gods, the touch of beings, the thirty-threefold hymn.
सहश् च सहस्यश् च हैमन्तिकाव् ऋतू ऽ अग्नेर् अन्तःश्लेषो सि कल्पेतां द्यावापृथिवी कल्पन्ताम् आप ऽ ओषधयः कल्पन्ताम् अग्नयः पृथङ् नम ज्यैष्ठ्याय सव्रताः । ये ऽ अग्नयः समनसो न्तरा द्यावापृथिवी ऽ इमे हैमन्तिकाव् ऋतू ऽ अभिकल्पमाना ऽ इन्द्रम् इव देवा ऽ अभिसंविशन्तु तया देवतयाङ्गिरस्वद् ध्रुवे सीदतम्
Both Saha and Sahasya, the two winter seasons, you are the inner embrace of Agni; let heaven and earth be prepared, let the waters and plants be prepared, let the fires be prepared separately, with the greatest reverence, steadfast in their vows. The fires who are united within heaven and earth, these two winter seasons, being prepared, let the gods enter as Indra; with that divinity, O Angiras, sit firm.
एकयास्तुवत प्रजा ऽ अधीयन्त प्रजापतिर् अधिपतिर् आसीत् । तिसृभिर् अस्तुवत ब्रह्मासृज्यत ब्रह्मणस्पतिर् अधिपतिर् आसीत् । पञ्चभिर् अस्तुवत भूतान्य् असृज्यन्त भूतानां पतिर् अधिपतिर् आसीत् । सप्तभिर् अस्तुवत सप्त ऋषयो ऽसृज्यन्त धाताधिपतिर् आसीत्
With one hymn, offspring were studied; Prajāpati was the overlord. With three hymns, Brahman was created; Bṛhaspati was the overlord. With five hymns, beings were created; the lord of beings was the overlord. With seven hymns, the seven seers were created; the lord of the supporter was the overlord.
