उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि हरिर् असि हारियोजनो हरिभ्यां त्वा । हर्योर् धाना स्थ सहसोमा ऽ इन्द्राय
You are received; you are Hari, yoked with Hari; you belong to the two Haris. You are the wealth of the Haris, with abundant Soma, for Indra.
यस् ते ऽ अश्वसनिर् भक्षो यो गोसनिस् तस्य त ऽ इष्टयजुष स्तुतसोमस्य शस्तोक्थस्योपहूतस्योपहूतो भक्षयामि
That which is your horse-offering, your food, your cow-offering, I eat that, which is pleasingly offered, praised Soma, well-spoken, well-invoked, well-offered, I eat that food.
देवकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । मनुष्यकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । पितृकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । आत्मकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । एनसऽ-एनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । यच् चाहम् एनो विद्वाꣳश् चकार यच् चाविद्वाꣳस् तस्य सर्वस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि
You are the remover of the sin committed by the gods; you are the remover of the sin committed by humans; you are the remover of the sin committed by the ancestors; you are the remover of the sin committed by oneself; you are the remover of every kind of sin. Whatever sin I knowingly or unknowingly committed, you are the remover of all that sin.
सं वर्चसा पयसा सं तनूभिर् अगन्महि मनसा सꣳ शिवेन । त्वष्टा सुदत्रो वि दधातु रायो ऽनु मार्ष्टु तन्वो यद् विलिष्टम्
May we attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies together, with auspicious mind. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth; may he wipe away whatever is defective in our bodies.
सम् इन्द्र णो मनसा नेषि गोभिः सꣳ सूरिभिर् मघवन्त् सꣳ स्वस्त्या । सं ब्रह्मणा देवकृतं यद् अस्ति सं देवाना सुमतौ यज्ञियाना स्वाहा
O Indra, lead us with your mind, with cows, with wise and generous companions, and with well-being. With the sacred utterance, with what is made by the gods, with the favor of the worshipful gods, may we be united. Svāhā.
सं वर्चसा पयसा सं तनूभिर् अगन्महि मनसा सꣳ शिवेन । त्वष्टा सुदत्रो विदधातु रायो ऽनु मार्ष्टु तन्वो यद् विलिष्टम्

May Dhātṛ and Rati, may Savitṛ accept this; may Prajāpati, the guardian of treasures, and god Agni accept it. May Tvaṣṭṛ and Viṣṇu, rejoicing in offspring, grant wealth to the sacrificer. Svāhā.
सुगा वो देवाः सदना ऽ अकर्म य ऽ आजग्मेदꣳ सवनं जुषाणाः । भरमाणा वहमाना हवीꣳष्य् अस्मे धत्त वसवो वसूनि स्वाहा
O gods, we have made for you an easy seat; you who have come to this soma-pressing, delighting in it. Bearing and carrying the offerings, grant us, O Vasus, the treasures. Svāhā.
याँ२ ऽ आवह ऽ उशतो देव देवाँस् तान् प्रेरय स्वे ऽ अग्ने सधस्थे । जक्षिवासः पपिवासश् च विश्वे ऽसुं घर्मꣳ स्वरातिष्ठतानु स्वाहा
Bring here, O god Agni, those eager gods; urge them to your own seat. All who eat and drink, let them ascend to the vital warmth, the radiant energy. Svāhā.
वयꣳ हि त्वा प्रयति ऽ यज्ञे अस्मिन्न् अग्ने होतारम् अवृणीमहीह । ऋधग् अया ऽ ऋधग् उताशमिष्ठाः प्रजानन् यज्ञम् उप याहि विद्वान्त् स्वाहा
For in this sacrifice, O Agni, we choose you here as the Hotṛ priest. Come to the sacrifice, knowing, with favor and with prosperity, with each one, with each wish, O knower. Svāhā.
देवा गातुविदो गातुं वित्त्वा गातुम् इत । मनसस्पत ऽ इमं देव यज्ञꣳ स्वाहा वाते धाः
The gods who know the path, having known the path, go on the path. O lord of the mind, place this sacrifice, O god, with the wind. Svāhā.
यज्ञ यज्ञं गच्छ यज्ञपतिं गच्छ स्वां योनिं गच्छ स्वाहा । एष ते यज्ञो यज्ञपते सहसूक्तवाकः सर्ववीरस् तज् जुषस्व स्वाहा
Go to the sacrifice, go to the lord of sacrifice, go to your own source. Svāhā. This is your sacrifice, O lord of sacrifice, with a thousand hymns, full of all heroes; accept it with favor. Svāhā.
माहिर् भूर् मा पृदाकुः । उरुꣳ हि राजा वरुणश् चकार सूर्याय पन्थाम् अन्वेतवा ऽ उ । अपदे पादा प्रतिधातवे ऽकर् उतापवक्ता हृदयाविधश् चित् । नमो वरुणायाभिष्ठितो वरुणस्य पाशः
Do not harm, do not strike. For King Varuṇa has made a broad path for the sun to follow. He has made steps for the feet to tread, and even the one who would turn away is pierced in the heart. Homage to Varuṇa; I am released from Varuṇa's noose.
अग्नेर् अनीकम् अप ऽ आ विवेशापां नपात् प्रतिरक्षन्न् असुर्यम् । दमे-दमे समिधं यक्ष्य् अग्ने प्रति ते जिह्वा घृतम् उच् चरण्यत् स्वाहा
Having entered the face of Agni, the son of the waters, protecting the lordship, in every house let us worship with fuel, O Agni. Let your tongue, shining with ghee, move forth here. Svāhā.
समुद्रे ते हृदयम् अप्स्व् अन्तः सं त्वा विशन्त्व् ओषधीर् उतापः । यज्ञस्य त्वा यज्ञपते सूक्तोक्तौ नमोवाके विधेम यत् स्वाहा
Your heart is in the ocean, within the waters; may the plants and waters enter you. To you, O lord of sacrifice, in the recitation of hymns and words of homage, we offer this. Svāhā.
देवीर् आप ऽ एष वो गर्भस् तꣳ सुप्रीतꣳ सुभृतं बिभृत । देव सोमैष ते लोकस् तस्मिञ् छं च वक्ष्व परि च वक्ष्व
O divine waters, this is your embryo; bear it well and with care. O Soma, this is your world; in it, grant happiness and protection.
अवभृथ निचुम्पुण निचेरुर् असि निचुम्पुणः । अव देवैर् देवकृतम् एनो ऽयासिषम् अव मर्त्यैर् मर्त्यकृतं पुरुराव्णो देव रिषस् पाहि । देवाना समिद् असि
You are the cleansing, the remover of impurity, the remover of impurity. With the gods, I have cast away the sin made by the gods; with mortals, the sin made by mortals. O god of many forms, protect us from harm. You are the kindling of the gods.
एजतु दशमास्यो गर्भो जरायुणा सह । यथायं वायुर् एजति यथा समुद्र ऽ एजति । एवायं दशमास्यो ऽ अस्रज् जरायुणा सह
Let the ten-month embryo move, together with its membrane. As the wind moves, as the ocean moves, so may this ten-month embryo be born, together with its membrane.
यस्यै ते यज्ञियो गर्भो यस्यै योनिर् हिरण्ययी । अङ्गान्य् अह्रुता यस्य तं मात्रा सम् अजीगमꣳ स्वाहा
For whom this sacrificial embryo is intended, for whom the golden womb is, whose limbs are not taken away, to her may I come together with the mother. Svāhā.
पुरुदस्मो विषुरूप ऽ इन्दुर् अन्तर् महिमानम् आनञ्ज धीरः । एकपदीं द्विपदीं त्रिपदीं चतुष्पदीम् अष्टापदीं भुवनानु प्रथन्ता स्वाहा
The many-formed, manifold Soma, wise, has entered the greatness within. Spreading to the one-footed, two-footed, three-footed, four-footed, and eight-footed beings throughout the worlds. Svāhā.
मरुतो यस्य हि क्षये पाथा दिवो विमहसः । स सुगोपातमो जनः
He in whose dwelling the Maruts, the sons of the vast sky, travel on the paths of heaven—he is the most well-protected among men.
मही द्यौः पृथिवी च न ऽ इमं यज्ञं मिमिक्षताम् । पिपृतां नो भरीमभिः
May the great heaven and earth not wish to measure this sacrifice; may they nourish us with their abundance.
आ तिष्ठ वृत्रहन् रथं युक्ता ते ब्रह्मणा हरी । अर्वाचीनꣳ सु ते मनो ग्रावा कृणोतु वग्नुना । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसीन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने । ऽ एष ते योनिर् इन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने
Stand up, O slayer of Vṛtra, upon your chariot; your two bays are yoked by prayer. May the pressing stone, with its fire, make your mind incline toward us. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received.
युक्ष्वा हि केशिना हरी वृषणा कक्ष्यप्रा । अथा न ऽ इन्द्र सोमपा गिराम् उपश्रुतिं चर । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसीन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने । ऽ एष ते योनिर् इन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने
Yoke your two tawny, strong, and maned horses, O Indra, who dwell in the yoke. Then, O Indra, drinker of Soma, come near to the sound of our songs. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received.
इन्द्रम् इद् धरी वहतो ऽप्रतिधृष्टशवसम् । ऋषीणां च स्तुतीर् उप यज्ञं च मानुषाणाम् । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसीन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने । ऽ एष ते योनिर् इन्द्राय त्वा षोडशिने
The two bays carry Indra, whose strength none can withstand, to the praises of the seers and the sacrifice of men. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received.
यस्मान् न जातः परो ऽ अन्यो ऽ अस्ति य ऽ आविवेश भुवनानि विश्वा । प्रजापतिः प्रजया सꣳरराणस् त्रीणि ज्योतीषि सचते स षोडशी
There is no one born or to be born who is greater than he who has entered all the worlds. Prajāpati, rejoicing in offspring, upholds the three lights; he is the one of sixteen parts.
इन्द्रश् च सम्राड् वरुणश् च राजा तौ ते भक्षं चक्रतुर् अग्र् ऽ एतम् । तयोर् अहम् अनु भक्षं भक्षयामि वाग् देवी जुषाणा सोमस्य तृप्यतु । सह प्राणेन स्वाहा
Indra is the sovereign, and Varuṇa is the king; these two have made this the foremost portion. After them, I partake of the portion; may the divine speech, delighting, be satisfied with Soma. With the breath, svāhā.
अग्ने पवस्व स्वपा ऽ अस्मे वर्चः सुवीर्यम् । दधद् रयिं मयि पोषम् । उपयामगृहीतो ऽस्य् अग्नये त्वा वर्चसे । ऽ एष ते योनिर् अग्नये त्वा वर्चसे । अग्ने वर्चस्विन् वर्चस्वाꣳस् त्वं देवेष्व् असि वर्चस्वान् अहं मनुष्येषु भूयासम्
O Agni, purify yourself, bestower of good, grant us brilliance and heroic strength. Place wealth and nourishment in me. You are received for Agni, for brilliance. This is your seat; for Agni, for brilliance, you are received. Agni, you are most brilliant among the gods; may I be most brilliant among men.
उत्तिष्ठन्न् ओजसा सह पीत्वी शिप्रे ऽ अवेपयः । सोमम् इन्द्र चमू सुतम् । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसीन्द्राय त्वौजसे । ऽ एष ते योनिर् इन्द्राय त्वौजसे । इन्द्रौजिष्ठौजिष्ठस् त्वं देवेष्व् अस्य् ओजिष्ठो ऽहं मनुष्येषु भूयासम्
Rising up with strength, with your mighty arms, you have shaken the Soma pressed in the bowl, O Indra. You are received for Indra, for strength. This is your seat; for Indra, for strength, you are received. Indra, you are the strongest among the gods; may I be the strongest among men.
अदृश्रम् अस्य केतवो वि रश्मयो जनाꣳ ऽ अनु । भ्राजन्तो अग्नयो यथा । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि सूर्याय त्वा भ्राजाय । एष ते योनिः सूर्याय त्वा भ्राजाय । सूर्य भ्राजिष्ठ भ्राजिष्ठस् त्वं देवेष्व् असि भ्राजिष्ठो ऽहं मनुष्येषु भूयासम्
His rays, his visions, have gone forth among the people, shining like fires, O Sūrya. You are received for Sūrya, for brilliance. This is your seat; for Sūrya, for brilliance, you are received. Sūrya, you are most radiant among the gods; may I be most radiant among men.
