स्वांकृतोऽसि विश्वेभ्य ऽ इन्द्रियेभ्यो दिव्येभ्यः पार्थिवेभ्यो मनस् त्वाष्टु स्वाहा त्वा सुभव सूर्याय । देवेभ्यस् त्वा मरीचिपेभ्यः । ऽ उदानाय त्वा
You are consecrated for all the divine and earthly senses. May Tvaṣṭṛ fashion your mind. Svāhā to you, O good-born, for Sūrya. To the gods, to the Marīcis. To udāna.
आ वायो भूष शुचिपा ऽ उप नः सहस्रं ते नियुतो विश्ववार । उपो तेऽअन्धो मद्यम् अयामि यस्य देव दधिषे पूर्वपेयम् । वायवे त्वा
Come, O Vāyu, adorned, pure-drinker; a thousand of your troops, all-choosing, come to us. I bring you the intoxicating draught, whose first drink you, O god, have taken. To Vāyu, to you.
इन्द्रवायू ऽ इमे सुता ऽ उप प्रयोभिर् आगतम् । इन्दवो वाम् उशन्ति हि । उपयामगृहीतोऽसि वायव ऽ इन्द्रवायुभ्यां त्वा । एष ते योनिः । सजोषोभ्यां त्वा
O Indra and Vāyu, these pressed draughts—come with favor. The drops long for you both. You are taken up for approach, O Vāyu; to Indra and Vāyu, to you. This is your seat. With both together, to you.
अयं वां मित्रावरुणा सुतः सोम ऽ ऋतावृधा । ममेद् इह श्रुतꣳ हवम् । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि मित्रावरुणाभ्यां त्वा
This Soma, pressed for you, O Mitra and Varuṇa, increasers of truth. May my call be heard here. You are taken up for approach, to Mitra and Varuṇa, to you.
राया वयꣳ ससवाꣷसो मदेम हव्येन देवा यवसेन गावः । तां धेनुं मित्रावरुणा युवं नो विश्वाहा धत्तम् अनपस्फुरन्तीम् । एष ते योनिर् ऋतायुभ्यां त्वा
May we, together with our companions, rejoice in wealth; may the gods accept our offering, and may the cows thrive on fodder. Mitra and Varuṇa, grant us that cow, ever yielding, never failing; this is your seat, I place you here for the keepers of truth.
या वां कशा मधुमत्याश्विना सूनृतावती । तया यज्ञं मिमिक्षतम् । उपयामगृहीतो ऽस्य् अश्विभ्यां त्वा । एष ते योनिर् माध्वीभ्यां त्वा
O Aśvins, the whip you possess is sweet and brings forth pleasant speech; with it, may you foster the sacrifice. You are received by the Aśvins; this is your seat, I place you here for those who delight in sweetness.
तं प्रत्नथा पूर्वथा विश्वथेमथा ज्येष्ठतातिं बर्हिषदꣳ स्वर्विदम् । प्रतीचीनं वृजनं दोहसे धुनिम् आशुं जयन्तम् अनु यासु वर्धसे । उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि शण्डाय त्वा । एष ते योनिर् वीरतां पाहि । अपमृष्टः शण्डः । देवास् त्वा शुक्रपाः प्रणयन्तु । अनाधृष्टासि
You are ancient, foremost, all-encompassing, eldest, seated on the sacred grass, knowing the light; you nourish the people, you are swift, victorious, and grow among those who serve. You are received for the eunuch; this is your seat, guard virility. The eunuch is purified. May the gods who drink the bright one favor you. You are invincible.
सुवीरो वीरान् प्रजनयन् परीह्य् अभि रायस्पोषेण यजमानम् । संजग्मानो दिवा पृथिव्या शुक्रः शुक्रशोचिषा । निरस्तः शण्डः । शुक्रस्याधिष्ठानम् असि
The mighty one, generating heroes, surrounds the sacrificer with prosperity; shining in both heaven and earth with radiant brilliance. The eunuch is removed. You are the abode of the bright one.
अच्छिन्नस्य ते देव सोम सुवीर्यस्य रायस्पोषस्य ददितारः स्याम । सा प्रथमा सꣳस्कृतिर् विश्ववारा स प्रथमो वरुणो मित्रो ऽ अग्निः
May we, O god Soma, be givers of unbroken strength, heroic power, and abundant wealth. That is the first, universal preparation; Varuṇa, Mitra, and Agni are the foremost.
स प्रथमो बृहस्पतिश् चिकित्वाꣳस् तस्मा ऽ इन्द्राय सुतम् आ जुहोत स्वाहा । तृम्पन्तु होत्रा मध्वो याः स्विष्टा याः सुप्रीताः सुहुता यत् स्वाहा । अयाड् अग्नीत्
Bṛhaspati is the first, wise one; therefore, offer the pressed Soma to Indra with the exclamation 'svāhā.' May the officiants enjoy the sweet offerings, those well-pleased, well-invoked, with 'svāhā.' Agni is not harmed.
उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि । आदित्येभ्यस् त्वा । विष्ण ऽ उरुगायैष ते सोमस् तꣳ रक्षस्व मा त्वा दभन्
You are received; you belong to the Ādityas. For Viṣṇu's wide stride, this Soma is yours; protect it, let no harm come to you.
कदा चन स्तरीर् असि नेन्द्र सश्चसि दाशुषे । उपोपेन् नु मघवन् भूय ऽ इन् नु ते दानं देवस्य पृच्यते ऽ । आदित्येभ्यस् त्वा
Never are you weak; O Indra, you are united with the worshipper. By approach, O generous one, may your gift be sought from the god. You belong to the Ādityas.
कदा चन प्र युच्छस्य् उभे नि पासि जन्मनी । तुरीयादित्य सवनं त ऽ इन्द्रियम् आ तस्थाव् अमृतं दिवि । आदित्येभ्यस् त्वा
Never do you abandon; you guard both births. May the fourth Āditya's pressing, that power, reach immortality in heaven. You belong to the Ādityas.
यज्ञो देवानां प्रत्य् एति सुम्नम् आदित्यासो भवता मृडयन्तः । आ वोऽर्वाची सुमतिर् ववृत्याद् अꣳहोश् चिद् या वरिवोवित्तरासत् । आदित्येभ्यस् त्वा
The sacrifice approaches the favor of the gods; may the Ādityas be merciful. May your favorable thought come near, removing even distress, granting the best path. You belong to the Ādityas.
विवस्वन्न् आदित्यैष ते सोमपीथस् तस्मिन् मत्स्व । श्रद् अस्मै नरो वचसे दधातन यद् आशीर्दा दम्पती वामम् अश्नुतः । पुमान् पुत्रो जायते विन्दते वस्व् अधा विश्वाहार् अप ऽ एधते गृहे
O Vivasvat and Ādityas, this is your Soma seat; delight in it. Let men place faith in his words; when the couple receives blessings, the man, the son, is born, gains wealth, and thus prospers in the house every day.
वामम् अद्य सवितर् वामम् उ श्वो दिवे-दिवे वामम् अस्मभ्यꣳ सावीः । वामस्य हि क्षयस्य देव भूरेर् अया धिया वामभाजः स्याम
Grant us prosperity today, Savitar; grant us prosperity tomorrow, day by day; grant us prosperity to us. For the dwelling of prosperity, O god, by this prayer, may we be those who share prosperity.
उपयामगृहीतोऽसि सावित्रोऽसि चनोधाश् चनोधा ऽ असि चनो मयि धेहि । जिन्व यज्ञं जिन्व यज्ञपतिं भगाय देवाय त्वा सवित्रे
You are received; you belong to Savitar; you are a remover of evil, a remover of evil; place that removal in me. Strengthen the sacrifice, strengthen the lord of sacrifice, for fortune, for the god Savitar.
उपयामगृहीतोऽसि सुशर्मासि सुप्रतिष्ठानो बृहदुक्षाय नमः । विश्वेभ्यस् त्वा देवेभ्यः ऽ। एष ते योनिर् विश्वेभ्यस् त्वा देवेभ्यः
You are received; you are well-protected, firmly established, with great milking; homage to you. You belong to all the gods. This is your seat; I place you here for all the gods.
उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि बृहस्पतिसुतस्य देव सोम त ऽ इन्दोर् इन्द्रियावतं पत्नीवतो ग्रहाँ२ ऽ ऋध्यासम् । अहं परस्ताद् अहम् अवस्ताद् यद् अन्तरिक्षं तद् उ मे पिताभूत् । अहꣳ सूर्यम् उभयतो ददर्शाहं देवानां परमं गुहा यत्
You are received; you belong to the pressed Soma of Bṛhaspati, O god Soma, to Indra, the powerful, the husbandly grahas. I am above, I am below; whatever is in the midspace, that is my father. I have seen the sun on both sides; I have seen the highest secret of the gods.
अग्ना3इ पत्नीवन्त् सजूर् देवेन त्वष्ट्रा सोमं पिब स्वाहा । प्रजापतिर् वृषासि रेतोधा रेतो मयि धेहि प्रजापतेस् त वृष्णो रेतोधसो रेतोधाम् अशीय
O Agni, with your spouse, together with the god Tvaṣṭṛ, drink Soma, svāhā. Prajāpati, you are vigorous, the bearer of seed; place the seed in me. Of Prajāpati, the vigorous, the seed-bearers, may I partake of the seed.
उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि हरिर् असि हारियोजनो हरिभ्यां त्वा । हर्योर् धाना स्थ सहसोमा ऽ इन्द्राय
You are received; you are Hari, yoked with Hari; you belong to the two Haris. You are the wealth of the Haris, with abundant Soma, for Indra.
यस् ते ऽ अश्वसनिर् भक्षो यो गोसनिस् तस्य त ऽ इष्टयजुष स्तुतसोमस्य शस्तोक्थस्योपहूतस्योपहूतो भक्षयामि
That which is your horse-offering, your food, your cow-offering, I eat that, which is pleasingly offered, praised Soma, well-spoken, well-invoked, well-offered, I eat that food.
देवकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । मनुष्यकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । पितृकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । आत्मकृतस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । एनसऽ-एनसो ऽवयजनम् असि । यच् चाहम् एनो विद्वाꣳश् चकार यच् चाविद्वाꣳस् तस्य सर्वस्यैनसो ऽवयजनम् असि
You are the remover of the sin committed by the gods; you are the remover of the sin committed by humans; you are the remover of the sin committed by the ancestors; you are the remover of the sin committed by oneself; you are the remover of every kind of sin. Whatever sin I knowingly or unknowingly committed, you are the remover of all that sin.
सं वर्चसा पयसा सं तनूभिर् अगन्महि मनसा सꣳ शिवेन । त्वष्टा सुदत्रो वि दधातु रायो ऽनु मार्ष्टु तन्वो यद् विलिष्टम्
May we attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies together, with auspicious mind. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth; may he wipe away whatever is defective in our bodies.
सम् इन्द्र णो मनसा नेषि गोभिः सꣳ सूरिभिर् मघवन्त् सꣳ स्वस्त्या । सं ब्रह्मणा देवकृतं यद् अस्ति सं देवाना सुमतौ यज्ञियाना स्वाहा
O Indra, lead us with your mind, with cows, with wise and generous companions, and with well-being. With the sacred utterance, with what is made by the gods, with the favor of the worshipful gods, may we be united. Svāhā.
सं वर्चसा पयसा सं तनूभिर् अगन्महि मनसा सꣳ शिवेन । त्वष्टा सुदत्रो विदधातु रायो ऽनु मार्ष्टु तन्वो यद् विलिष्टम्
May we attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies together, with auspicious mind. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth; may he wipe away whatever is defective in our bodies.
धाता रातिः सवितेदं जुषन्तां प्रजापतिर् निधिपा देवो ऽ अग्निः । त्वष्टा विष्णुः प्रजया सꣳरराणा यजमानाय द्रविणं दधात स्वाहा
May Dhātṛ and Rati, may Savitṛ accept this; may Prajāpati, the guardian of treasures, and god Agni accept it. May Tvaṣṭṛ and Viṣṇu, rejoicing in offspring, grant wealth to the sacrificer. Svāhā.
सुगा वो देवाः सदना ऽ अकर्म य ऽ आजग्मेदꣳ सवनं जुषाणाः । भरमाणा वहमाना हवीꣳष्य् अस्मे धत्त वसवो वसूनि स्वाहा
O gods, we have made for you an easy seat; you who have come to this soma-pressing, delighting in it. Bearing and carrying the offerings, grant us, O Vasus, the treasures. Svāhā.
याँ२ ऽ आवह ऽ उशतो देव देवाँस् तान् प्रेरय स्वे ऽ अग्ने सधस्थे । जक्षिवासः पपिवासश् च विश्वे ऽसुं घर्मꣳ स्वरातिष्ठतानु स्वाहा
Bring here, O god Agni, those eager gods; urge them to your own seat. All who eat and drink, let them ascend to the vital warmth, the radiant energy. Svāhā.
वयꣳ हि त्वा प्रयति ऽ यज्ञे अस्मिन्न् अग्ने होतारम् अवृणीमहीह । ऋधग् अया ऽ ऋधग् उताशमिष्ठाः प्रजानन् यज्ञम् उप याहि विद्वान्त् स्वाहा
For in this sacrifice, O Agni, we choose you here as the Hotṛ priest. Come to the sacrifice, knowing, with favor and with prosperity, with each one, with each wish, O knower. Svāhā.
