इरावती धेनुमती हि भूतꣳ सूयवसिनी मनवे दशस्या । व्यस्कभ्ना रोदसी विष्णव् एते दाधर्त्थ पृथिवीम् अभितो मयूखैः स्वाहा
May she be rich in refreshment, rich in cows, abundant in good things, granting favor to Manu; Viṣṇu, with his rays, has supported the two worlds, he has held the earth all around. Svāhā.
देवश्रुतौ देवेष्व् आ घोषतम् । प्राची प्रेतम् अध्वरं कल्पयन्ती ऽ ऊर्ध्वं यज्ञं नयतं मा जिह्वरतम् । स्वं गोष्ठम् आ वदतं देवी दुर्ये ऽ आयुर् मा निर्वादिष्टं प्रजां मा निर्वादिष्टम् । अत्र रमेथां वर्ष्मन् पृथिव्याः
Let your divine voices, heard among the gods, resound; go forth to the east, preparing the sacrifice, leading the offering upward; do not falter with your tongues. Speak of your own abode, O divine ones, in the difficult place; do not cut off our life, do not cut off our offspring. May you dwell here in the expanse of the earth.
विष्णोर् नु कं वीर्याणि प्र वोचं यः पार्थिवानि विममे रजाꣳसि । यो ऽ अस्कभायद् उत्तरꣳ सधस्थं विचक्रमाणस् त्रेधोरुगायः । विष्णवे त्वा
Now I shall proclaim the mighty deeds of Vishnu, who measured out the earthly regions; who established the upper abode without support, striding widely three times for the sake of the mighty.
दिवो वा विष्ण ऽ उत वा पृथिव्या महो वा विष्णऽउरोरन्तरिक्षात् । उभा हि हस्ता वसुना पृणस्वा प्रयच्छ दक्षिणाद् ओत सव्यात् । विष्णवे त्वा
O Vishnu, whether from the sky or from the earth, or from the vastness between, fill both hands with riches and grant them from the right and from the left. For Vishnu, I dedicate you.
प्र तद् विष्णु स्तवते वीर्येण मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः । यस्योरुषु त्रिषु विक्रमणेष्व् अधिक्षियन्ति भुवनानि विश्वा
Vishnu is praised for his strength, like a fierce wild beast roaming the mountains; in whose three wide strides all worlds dwell.
विष्णो रराटम् असि । विष्णोः श्नप्त्रे स्थः । विष्णोः स्यूर् असि । विष्णोर् ध्रुवो सि । वैष्णवम् असि विष्णवे त्वा
You are the delight of Vishnu; you are the offspring of Vishnu; you are the bond of Vishnu; you are the steadfastness of Vishnu; you are Vishnu's, and I dedicate you to Vishnu.
देवस्य त्वा सवितुः प्रसवे ऽश्विनोर् बाहुभ्यां पूष्णो हस्ताभ्याम् । आ ददे नार्य् असि । इदम् अहꣳ रक्षसां ग्रीवा ऽ अपिकृन्तामि । बृहन्न् असि बृहद्रवा बृहतीम् इन्द्राय वाचं वद
I place you through the impulse of the divine Savitar, with the arms of the Ashvins and the hands of Pushan. You are a woman. Here, I cut the necks of the demons. You are great, of great speed; speak a mighty word for Indra.
रक्षोहणं वलगहनं वैष्णवीम् । इदम् अहं तं वलगम् उत् किरामि यं मे निष्ट्यो यम् अमात्यो निचखान । इदम् अहं तं वलगम् उत् किरामि यं मे समानो यम् असमानो निचखान । इदम् अहं तं वलगम् उत् किरामि यं मे सबन्धुर् यम् असबन्धुर् निचखान । इदम् अहं तं वलगम् उत् किरामि यं मे सजातो यम् असजातो निचखान । उत् कृत्यां किरामि
Destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, of Vishnu: this obstacle I cast away, which my enemy or rival has buried against me. This obstacle I cast away, which my equal or unequal has buried against me. This obstacle I cast away, which my kin or stranger has buried against me. This obstacle I cast away, which my born or unborn has buried against me. I also cast away the sorcery.
स्वराड् असि सपत्नहा । सत्रराड् अस्य् अभिमातिहा । जनराड् असि रक्षोहा । सर्वराड् अस्य् अमित्रहा
You are lord of heaven, slayer of rivals; lord of the sacrifice, destroyer of adversaries; lord of people, destroyer of demons; lord of all, slayer of enemies.
रक्षोहणो वो वलगहनः प्रोक्षामि वैष्णवान् । रक्षोहणो वो वलगहनो ऽव नयामि वैष्णवान् । रक्षोहणो वो वलगहनो ऽव स्तृणामि वैष्णवान् । रक्षोहणौ वां वलगहना ऽ उप दधामि वैष्णवी । रक्षोहणौ वां वलगहनौ पर्य् ऊहामि वैष्णवी । वैष्णवम् असि । वैष्णवा स्थ
I sprinkle you, destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, belonging to Vishnu. I lead you down, destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, belonging to Vishnu. I spread you out, destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, belonging to Vishnu. I place you, destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, Vishnu's. I carry you around, destroyer of demons, breaker of obstacles, Vishnu's. You are Vishnu's. You are of Vishnu.

उद् दिवꣳ स्तभानान्तरिक्षं पृण दृꣳहस्व पृथिव्याम् । द्युतानास् त्वा मारुतो मिनोतु मित्रावरुणौ ध्रुवेण धर्मणा । ब्रह्मवनि त्वा क्षत्रवनि त्वा रायस्पोषवनि पर्य् ऊहामि । ब्रह्म दृꣳह क्षत्रं दृꣳहायुर् दृꣳह प्रजां दृꣳह
Raise up the sky, fill the atmosphere, strengthen the earth. May the shining Maruts measure you, may Mitra and Varuna with steadfast law. I carry you for the Brahman, for the Kshatra, for wealth and nourishment. Strengthen the Brahman, strengthen the Kshatra, strengthen life, strengthen progeny.
ध्रुवासि ध्रुवो ऽयं यजमानो ऽस्मिन्न् आयतने प्रजया पशुभिर् भूयात् । घृतेन द्यावापृथिवी पूर्येथाम् । इन्द्रस्य छदिर् असि विश्वजनस्य छाया
You are steadfast, and this sacrificer is steadfast in this abode; may he increase with offspring and cattle. May heaven and earth be filled with ghee. You are Indra's shelter, the shade of all people.
परि त्वा गिर्वणो गिर ऽ इमा भवन्तु विश्वतः । वृद्धायुम् अनु वृद्धयो जुष्टा भवन्तु जुष्टयः
May these songs, O singer, surround you from all sides. May the elders follow the elder, may the favored follow the favored.
इन्द्रस्य स्यूर् असि । इन्द्रस्य ध्रुवो ऽसि । ऐन्द्रम् असि । वैश्वदेवम् असि
You are Indra's bond; you are Indra's steadfastness; you are Indra's; you are of all the gods.

उशिग् असि कविः । अङ्घारिर् असि बम्भारिः । अवस्यूर् असि दुवस्वान् । शुन्ध्यूर् असि मार्जालीयः । सम्राड् असि कृशानुः । परिषद्योऽसि पवमानः । नभोऽसि प्रतक्वा । मृष्टो ऽसि हव्यसूदनः । ऽऋतधामासि स्वर्ज्योतिः
You are the inspired, the poet; you are the swift-footed, the strong; you are the helper, the giver of good; you are the purifier, the cat-like; you are the sovereign, the thin-flamed; you are the one to be surrounded, the purifying; you are the sky, the spreader; you are the cleansed, the destroyer of offerings; you are the abode of truth, the light of heaven.
समुद्रो ऽसि विश्वव्यचाः । ऽअजो ऽस्य् एकपात् । अहिर् असि बुध्न्यः । वाग् अस्य् ऐन्द्रम् असि सदो ऽसि । ऋतस्य द्वारौ मा मा संताप्तम् । अध्वनाम् अध्वपते प्र मा तिर स्वस्ति मे ऽस्मिन् पथि देवयाने भूयात्
You are the ocean, all-pervading; you are the unborn, single-footed; you are the serpent of the deep; you are speech, you are Indra's, you are the seat. You are the two doors of truth; let me not be afflicted. O lord of paths, lead me safely; may there be welfare for me on this divine path.
मित्रस्य मा चक्षुषेक्षध्वम् । अग्नयः सगराः सगरा स्थ सगरेण नाम्ना रुद्रेणानीकेन पात माग्नयः पिपृत माग्नयो गोपायत मा नमो वो स्तु मा मा हिꣳसिष्ट
May you look upon me with the eye of Mitra. O fires, you are with the ocean, you are with the ocean by name, with Rudra, with Anika. Protect me, O fires, preserve me, O fires, guard me. I salute you; do not harm me.
ज्योतिर् असि विश्वरूपं विश्वेषां देवाना समित् । त्वꣳ सोम तनूकृद्भ्यो द्वेषोभ्यो ऽन्यकृतेभ्य ऽउरु यन्तासि वरूथꣳ स्वाहा । जुषाणो ऽअप्तुर् आज्यस्य वेतु स्वाहा
You are the light, of all forms, assembled among all the gods. You, Soma, are the protector from those who harm the body, from those who do other harm; you are the wide shield. Svaha. May the one who accepts the clarified butter be pleased. Svaha.
अग्ने नय सुपथा राये ऽअस्मान् विश्वानि देव वयुनानि विद्वान् । युयोध्य् अस्मज् जुहुराणम् एनो भूयिष्ठां ते नमऽउक्तिं विधेम
O Agni, lead us by the good path to prosperity, O god, knowing all the ways; remove from us the crooked sin we have committed. To you we offer the most abundant words of homage.
अयं नो ऽ अग्निर् वरिवस् कृणोत्व् अयं मृधः पुर ऽएतु प्रभिन्दन् । अयं वाजान् जयतु वाजसाताव् अयꣳ शत्रून् जयतु जर्हृषाणः स्वाहा
May this Agni create a wide passage for us; may he come breaking through the enemies; may he win riches for the seeker of wealth; may he, exultant, conquer the foes. Svāhā.
उरु विष्णो वि क्रमस्वोरु क्षयाय नस् कृधि । घृतं घृतयोने पिब प्र-प्र यज्ञपतिं तिर स्वाहा
Stride widely, O Viṣṇu, make wide room for our dwelling; O you born of ghee, drink the ghee; lead forth the lord of sacrifice. Svāhā.
देव सवितर् एष ते सोमस् तꣳ रक्षस्व मा त्वा दभन् । एतत् त्वं देव सोम देवो देवाँ2 ऽ उपागा ऽ इदम् अहं मनुष्यान्त् सह रायस्पोषेण स्वाहा निर् वरुणस्य पाशान् मुच्ये
O god Savitar, this Soma is for you; protect it, let no harm come to you. O god Soma, you are a god among gods; I, together with men, offer this for the increase of wealth. Svāhā. I am released from the bonds of Varuṇa.
अग्ने व्रतपास् त्वे व्रतपा या तव तनूर् मय्य् अभूद् एषा सा त्वयि यो मम तनूस् त्वय्य् अभूद् इयꣳ सा मयि । यथायथं नौ व्रतपते व्रतान्य् अनु मे दीक्षां दीक्षापतिर् अमꣳस्तानु तपस् तपस्पतिः
O Agni, you are the guardian of vows; may your vow-body be in me, and may my body be in you. As the lord of vows, may you accept our vows as they are; may the lord of consecration accept my consecration; may the lord of austerity accept my austerity.
उरु विष्णो वि क्रमस्वोरु क्षयाय नस् कृधि । घृतं घृतयोने पिब प्र-प्र यज्ञपतिं तिर स्वाहा
Stride widely, O Viṣṇu, make wide room for our dwelling; O you born of ghee, drink the ghee; lead forth the lord of sacrifice. Svāhā.
अत्य् अन्याꣳ ऽ अगां नान्याꣳ ऽ उपागाम् अर्वाक् त्वा परेभ्यो ऽविदं परो ऽवरेभ्यः । तं त्वा जुषामहे देव वनस्पते देवयज्यायै देवास् त्वा देवयज्यायै जुषन्तां विष्णवे त्वा । ओषधे त्रायस्व । स्वधिते मैनꣳ हिꣳसीः
I have not gone to another, nor approached another; I have found you nearer than others, farther than those further away. We choose you, O god, O lord of the forest, for the divine sacrifice; may the gods accept you for the divine sacrifice, for Viṣṇu. O plant, protect us. O sacrificial post, do not harm him.
द्यां मा लेखीर् अन्तरिक्षं मा हिꣳसीः पृथिव्या सं भव । अयꣳ हि त्वा स्वधितिस् तेतिजानः प्रणिनाय महते सौभगाय । अतस् त्वं देव वनस्पते शतवल्शो वि रोह सहस्रवल्शा वि वयꣳ रुहेम
Do not injure the sky, do not harm the midspace; be united with the earth. For you, the sacrificial post, the sharpened blade has led forth for great good fortune. Therefore, O god, O lord of the forest, with a hundred branches, grow; with a thousand branches, may we grow.

अग्रेणीर् असि स्वावेश ऽ उन्नेतॄणाम् एतस्य वित्ताद् अधि त्वा स्थास्यति । देवस् त्वा सविता मध्व् आनक्तु । सुपिप्पलाभ्यस् त्वौषधीभ्यः । द्याम् अग्रेणास्पृक्ष ऽ आन्तरिक्षं मध्येनाप्राः पृथिवीम् उपरेणादृꣳहीः
You are the leader, the best of lifters; from this wealth you will stand forth. May god Savitar anoint you with honey. You are among the most excellent plants. With the tip you touch the sky, with the middle you reach the midspace, with the top you support the earth.
