When he stands forth, all adorn him, clothed in splendor, he moves shining; that is the great name of the mighty Asura, of many forms, he has established the immortal things.
To the great, to the joyous one, to Viśvānara, the all-pervading, we offer praise with the exhilarating drink; whose favor, strength, and fame, Indra and the two worlds honor.
Truly, their fuel is abundant, their praise is great, their song is wide; for them, Indra is the youthful friend.

Come, Indra, rejoice in the drink, with all those who partake of Soma; grant us great abundance with your strength.

Indra struck down Vṛtra with his shattering force; he exposed the illusionists with his revealing power. He slew the serpent lying in the woods, and brought forth the cows, making the lovely ones manifest.
From where, O Indra, do you, being mighty, go forth alone, O Lord of Truth? What is it that you thus do? You question the noble ones in battle; speak to us, O wielder of the thunderbolt, what you have for us. Great is Indra by his strength. Never are you overcome. Never are you cast aside.
To that Indra the Ayavas press forward, longing to cross to the rich land of cattle. Those who, being sons of many, wish to milk the earth, the great, thousand-streamed, abundant one, all at once.
This thought I offer to you, great and mighty one, for this praise, O wise one, which I have composed. In festival and in striving, the gods, with their strength, have followed Indra, the victorious.

Let the shining one, bearing greatness, drink the sweet Soma, granting undisturbed life to the lords of sacrifice. He who, driven by the wind, protects with his own power, nourishes the peoples in many ways, and shines forth.
Upward, the rays carry that god, Jātavedas, the Sun, for all to see. Hail!

With that radiant eye, O blazing one, you observe all people. You, O Varuṇa, see.

Come, O divine priests, with your chariot shining like the sun; with honey you anoint the sacrifice. You are the ancient ones. This is Vena, the wondrous one among the gods. This is Vena, the marvel of the gods.

May Viśvānara, the divine Savitṛ, come to us with Iḍā's blessings at the assembly. As young men delight in us, so may all the world turn to us with favor and thought.

Whatever today, O slayer of Vṛtra, you have done, and O Sun, all that, O Indra, is under your control.

That is the divinity of the Sun, that greatness, spread in the midst of the sky, he has taken up. When he yoked the bays from his seat, then night stretches out her garment for him.
For the sake of Mitra and Varuṇa, the Sun fashions his form in the lap of the sky. One of his powers is endless and bright, another is dark; the bays bear them together.

O Sun, you are great in glory; truly, O god, you are great in might. By your greatness, you are the overlord of the gods, their priest, the all-pervading, unfailing light.
As if yearning, all the people look upon the Sun; all, born with strength, partake of Indra's gifts, as we would share a portion.

Today, O gods, at the rising of the Sun, free us from misfortune, free us from blame. May Mitra, Varuṇa, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven not harm us.
Moving in the black firmament, establishing both immortal and mortal, Savitṛ, the god, goes forth, seeing all the worlds, with his golden chariot.

The well-laid sacrificial grass is spread for them, as a lord of the people, the seat is approached; at the first calling of the dawn, Vayu and Pushan, accompanied by their chariots, come for well-being.

I invoke Indra and Vayu, Brihaspati, Mitra and Agni, Pushan, Bhaga, the Adityas, and the host of Maruts.

Upon Indra, Vishnu, and their kin, upon the Maruts and the Ashvins, upon the ancient ones, upon this Vena, upon those gods, with the Ida offerings, with all, let the Soma honey be enjoyed, O guardians of the people.

May the Rudras, the mighty ones, the mountains, united in the slaying of Vritra and in the invocation, protect us; whoever praises and sings, let the gods led by Indra defend us.
