Guard us, Agni, with one; guard us also with a second; guard us with threefold words, Lord of strength; guard us with four, O giver of wealth.
ऊर्जो नपातꣳ स हिनायम् अस्मयुर् दाशेम हव्यदातये । भुवद् वाजेष्व् अविता भुवद् वृध ऽ उत त्राता तनूनाम्
To the Offspring of Strength, the bringer, let us offer with devotion for the acceptance of the oblation; may he be our protector in contests, our increaser, and the savior of our persons.
संवत्सरो ऽसि परिवत्सरोऽसीदावत्सरो ऽसीद्वत्सरो ऽसि वत्सरो ऽसि । उषसस् ते कल्पन्ताम् अहोरात्रास् ते कल्पन्ताम् अर्धमासास् ते कल्पन्तां मासास् ते कल्पन्ताम् ऋतवस् ते कल्पन्ताꣳ संवत्सरस् ते कल्पताम् । प्रेत्या ऽ एत्यै सं चाञ्च प्र च सारय । सुपर्णचिद् असि तया देवतयाङ्गिरस्वद् ध्रुवः सीद
You are the year, you are the cycle, you are the half-year, you are the season, you are the month, you are the fortnight, you are the day and night, you are the dawns; may all these be prepared for you, may the year be prepared for you. Having departed and returned, move together, move onward. You are even the Suparṇa, by that divine power of the Angiras, take your firm seat.

होता यक्षद् उषे ऽ इन्द्रस्य धेनू सुदुघे मातरा मही । सवातरौ न तेजसा वत्सम् इन्द्रम् अवर्धतां वीताम् आज्यस्य होतर् यज
Let the Hotṛ invoke the nourishing cows of Indra, the two great mothers, ever-yielding; like swift winds by their power, may they nourish Indra as a calf. O Hotṛ, offer the clarified butter.

Let the Hotṛ invoke Tvaṣṭṛ, Indra, the god, the healer, the well-sacrificing, shining with ghee; of many forms, of good seed, the generous one. May Tvaṣṭṛ grant Indra his powers. O Hotṛ, offer the clarified butter.

देवं बर्हिर् इन्द्रꣳ सुदेवं देवैर् वीरवत् स्तीर्णं वेद्याम् अवर्धयत् । वस्तोर् वृतं प्राक्तोर् भृतꣳ राया बर्हिष्मतो ऽत्य् अगाद् वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वेतु यज
The gods spread the sacred grass for Indra, the excellent god, with the other gods, rich in heroes, on the altar; they increased him. देवी उषासानक्तेन्द्रं यज्ञे प्रयत्य् अह्वेताम् । दैवीर् विशः प्रायासिष्टाꣳ सुप्रीते सुधिते वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वीतां यज

देवी ऽ ऊर्जाहुती दुघे पयसेन्द्रम् अवर्धताम् । इषमूर्जम् अन्या वक्षत् सग्धिꣳ सपीतिम् अन्या नवेन पूर्वं दयमाने पुराणेन नवम् अधातामूर्जमूर्जाहुती ऽ ऊर्जयमाने वसु वार्याणि यजमानाय शिक्षिते वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वीतां यज
The divine givers of nourishment, pouring forth milk, increased Indra. One brings forth food and strength, another brings forth abundance and fullness; the new one gives first, the old one gives the new, both giving strength and nourishment; for the sacrificer who is instructed, O possessor of wealth, let the sacrificer seek the wealth of the wealthy.
देवा देव्या होतारा देवम् इन्द्रम् अवर्धताम् । हताघशꣳसाव् आभार्ष्टां वसु वार्याणि यजमानाय शिक्षितौ वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वीतां यज

The god Indra, with Narāśaṃsa, threefold-protected, threefold-bound, increased the god Indra. The divine tree, with the gods, golden-leaved, honey-branched, bearing good fruit, increased the god Indra. With its top it touched the sky, it strengthened the atmosphere and the earth; O possessor of wealth, let the sacrificer seek the wealth of the wealthy.
देवं बर्हिर् वारितीनां देवम् इन्द्रम् अवर्धयत् । स्वासस्थम् इन्द्रेणासन्नम् अन्या बर्हीꣳष्य् अभ्य् अभूद् वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वेतु यज

देवो ऽ अग्निः स्विष्टकृद् देवम् इन्द्रम् अवर्धयत् । स्विष्टं कुर्वन्त् स्विष्टकृत् स्विष्टम् अद्य करोतु नो वसुवने वसुधेयस्य वेतु यज
The god Agni, the maker of the proper offering, increased the god Indra. Let them make the offering proper, let the maker of the proper offering make it proper for us today; O possessor of wealth, let the sacrificer seek the wealth of the wealthy.
अग्निम् अद्य होतारम् अवृणीतायं यजमानः पचन् पक्तीः पचन् पुरोडाशं बध्नन्न् इन्द्राय छागम् । सूपस्था ऽ अद्य देवो वनस्पतिर् अभवद् इन्द्राय छागेन । अघत् तं मेदस्तः प्रति पचताग्रभीद् अवीवृधत् पुरोडाशेन । त्वाम् अद्य ऽ ऋष [आर्षेय ऋषीणां नपाद् अवृणीतायं यजमानो बहुभ्य आ संगतेभ्य एष मे देवेषु वसु वार्यायक्ष्यत इति ता या देवा देव दानान्य् अदुस् तान्य् अस्मा आ च शास्स्वा च गुरस्वेषितश् च होतर् असि भद्रवाच्याय प्रेषितो मानुषः सूक्तवाकाय सूक्ता ब्रूहि ॥]???
Today the sacrificer chose Agni as the priest, cooking the sacrificial foods, preparing the sacrificial cake, binding the goat for Indra. Today the divine tree became the soup-stand for Indra with the goat. The fat was placed, cooked, and the sacrificial cake increased it. Today, O bull, the sacrificer chose you, the descendant of the seers, among the many assembled; this is my desirable wealth among the gods. O gods, whatever divine gifts you have given, grant them to us; you are the priest, sent for auspicious speech, sent by men for good praise; recite the hymns.

Let the priest worship the praiseworthy, the praised, the slayer of Vṛtra, the one to be praised with Iḍā, the mighty Soma, Indra, bestower of strength. Taking the Anuṣṭubh meter, the Indriya, the five-year-old cow, and the strength, let him seek the clarified butter; O priest, worship.
होता यक्षत् सुबर्हिषं पूषण्वन्तम् अमर्त्यꣳ सीदन्तं बर्हिषि प्रिये ऽमृतेन्द्रं वयोधसम् । बृहतीं छन्द ऽ इन्द्रियं त्रिवत्सं गां वयो दधद् वेत्व् आज्यस्य होतर् यज
Let the priest worship the well-grassed, the possessor of nourishment, the immortal, sitting on the beloved grass, Indra, bestower of strength. Taking the Bṛhatī meter, the Indriya, the three-year-old cow, and the strength, let him seek the clarified butter; O priest, worship.
