अग्निꣳ स्तोमेन बोधय समिधानो ऽ अमर्त्यम् । हव्या देवेषु नो दधत्
Awaken Agni with praise, kindled, the immortal; let him bear our offerings among the gods.
स हव्यवाड् अमर्त्य ऽ उशिग् दूतश् चनोहितः । अग्निर् धिया सम् ऋण्वति
He, the immortal, the bearer of offerings, the swift messenger, Agni, fulfills the prayer with thought.
अग्निं दूतं पुरो दधे हव्यवाहम् उप ब्रुवे । देवाꣳऽ आ सादयाद् इह
I place Agni, the messenger, at the forefront; I call upon the carrier of offerings. May he bring the gods here.
अजीजनो हि पवमान सूर्यं विधारे शक्मना पयः । गोजीरया रꣳहमाणः पुरन्ध्या
O Purifying One, you have indeed generated the sun; by your power, you have distributed the waters, delighting in the cows and rejoicing with Purandhi.
विभूर् मात्रा प्रभूः पित्राश्वो ऽसि हयो ऽस्य् अत्यो ऽसि मयो ऽस्य् अर्वासि सप्तिर् असि वाज्य् असि वृषासि नृमणा ऽ असि । ययुर् नामासि शिशुर् नामास्य् आदित्यानां पत्वान्व् इहि । देवा ऽ आशापाला एतं देवेभ्यो ऽश्वं मेधाय प्रोक्षितꣳ रक्षत् । इह रन्तिः । इह रमताम् । इह धृतिः । इह स्वधृतिः स्वाहा
You are mighty by your mother, powerful by your father; you are a horse, a steed, a charger, a swift one, a stallion, a leader among men. You are called 'traveler', you are called 'child'; come to the protection of the Ādityas. The guardians of the quarters, the gods, protect this horse, sprinkled for sacrifice, for the gods. Here is joy; here let there be delight; here is firmness; here is self-firmness. Svāhā.
काय स्वाहा कस्मै स्वाहा कतमस्मै स्वाहा स्वाहाधिम् आधीताय स्वाहा मनः प्रजापतये स्वाहाचित्तं विज्ञातायादित्यै स्वाहादित्यै मह्यै स्वाहादित्यै सुमृडीकायै स्वाहा सरस्वत्यै स्वाहा सरस्वत्यै पावकायै स्वाहा सरस्वत्यै बृहत्यै स्वाहा पूष्णे स्वाहा पूष्णे प्रपथ्याय स्वाहा पूष्णे नरंधिषाय स्वाहा त्वष्ट्रे स्वाहा त्वष्ट्रे तुरीपाय स्वाहा त्वष्ट्रे पुरुरूपाय स्वाहा विष्णवे स्वाहा विष्णवे निभूयपाय स्वाहा विष्णवे शिपिविष्टाय स्वाहा
To Kāya, svāhā; to Kasmai, svāhā; to Katamasmai, svāhā; to the one who has ascended to svāhā, svāhā; to Mind, to Prajāpati, svāhā; to Consciousness, to the Knower, to Āditya, svāhā; to the great Āditya, svāhā; to the gracious Āditya, svāhā; to Sarasvatī, svāhā; to Sarasvatī the bright, svāhā; to Sarasvatī the vast, svāhā; to Pūṣan, svāhā; to Pūṣan the path-finder, svāhā; to Pūṣan the leader of men, svāhā; to Tvaṣṭṛ, svāhā; to Tvaṣṭṛ the strong, svāhā; to Tvaṣṭṛ of many forms, svāhā; to Viṣṇu, svāhā; to Viṣṇu the all-pervading, svāhā; to Viṣṇu the radiant, svāhā.
विश्वो देवस्य नेतुर् मर्तो वुरीत सख्यम् । विश्वो राय ऽ इषुध्यति द्युम्नं वृणीत पुष्यसे स्वाहा
May every mortal seek the friendship of the divine leader; may all strive for wealth; may he choose glory for prosperity. Svāhā.
आ ब्रह्मन् ब्राह्मणो ब्रह्मवर्चसी जायताम् आ राष्ट्रे राजन्यः शूर ऽ इषव्यो ऽतिव्याधी महारथो जायतां दोग्ध्री धेनुर् वोढानड्वान् आशुः सप्तिः पुरंधिर् योषा जिष्णू रथेष्ठाः सभेयो युवास्य यजमानस्य वीरो जायतां निकामे-निकामे नः पर्जन्यो वर्षतु फलवत्यो न ऽ ओषधयः पच्यन्तां योगक्षेमो नः कल्पताम्
May a Brāhmaṇa endowed with Vedic brilliance be born in the Brāhmaṇa lineage; may a heroic, skilled, and mighty charioteer be born in the royal class; may a milking cow, a bull, a swift horse, a chariot-driving woman, a victorious youth, a champion in the assembly, and a strong son be born to the sacrificer. May the rain fall for us as desired, may fruitful plants ripen, and may our welfare and sustenance be secured.
प्राणाय स्वाहापानाय स्वाहा व्यानाय स्वाहा चक्षुषे स्वाहा श्रोत्राय स्वाहा वाचे स्वाहा मनसे स्वाहा

एकस्मै स्वाहा द्वाभ्याꣳ स्वाहा शताय स्वाहैकशताय स्वाहा व्युष्ट्यै स्वाहा स्वर्गाय स्वाहा
To the one, svāhā; to the two, svāhā; to the hundred, svāhā; to the one hundred, svāhā; to the dawn, svāhā; to heaven, svāhā.
हिरण्यगर्भः सम् अवर्तताग्रे भूतस्य जातः पतिर् एक ऽ आसीत् । स दाधार पृथिवीं द्याम् उतेमां कस्मै देवाय हविषा विधेम
In the beginning, the Golden Embryo alone arose; he became the sole lord of all that is born. He upheld this earth and the heavens—unto which god should we offer our oblation?
उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि प्रजापतये त्वा जुष्टं गृह्णामि । एष ते योनिः सूर्यस् ते महिमा । यस् ते ऽहन्त् संवत्सरे महिमा संबभूव यस् ते वायाव् अन्तरिक्षे महिमा संबभूव यस् ते दिवि सूर्ये महिमा संबभूव तस्मै ते महिम्ने प्रजापतये स्वाहा देवेभ्यः
You are taken up with the upayāma for Prajāpati; I accept you, well-pleasing. This is your womb; the sun is your greatness. The greatness that became yours in the year, the greatness that became yours in the wind in the midspace, the greatness that became yours in the sun in the sky—to that greatness of yours, to Prajāpati, svāhā, to the gods.
यः प्राणतो निमिषतो महित्वैक ऽ इद् राजा जगतो बभूव । य ऽ ईशे ऽ अस्य द्विपदश् चतुष्पदः कस्मै देवाय हविषा विधेम
He who alone is the king of the moving and the still, who is great in breath and in blinking—he who rules over all that has two feet and four—unto which god should we offer our oblation?
उपयामगृहीतो ऽसि प्रजापतये त्वा जुष्टं गृह्णामि । एष ते योनिश् चन्द्रस् ते महिमा । यस् ते रात्रौ संवत्सरे महिमा संबभूव यस् ते पृथिव्याम् अग्नौ महिमा संबभूव यस् ते नक्षत्रेषु चन्द्रमसि महिमा संबभूव तस्मै ते महिम्ने प्रजापतये देवेभ्यः स्वाहा
You are taken up with the upayāma for Prajāpati; I accept you, well-pleasing. This is your womb; the moon is your greatness. The greatness that became yours in the night, in the year; the greatness that became yours in the fire on earth; the greatness that became yours in the stars, in the moon—to that greatness of yours, to Prajāpati, to the gods, svāhā.
युञ्जन्ति ब्रध्नम् अरुषं चरन्तं परि तस्थुषः । रोचन्ते रोचना दिवि
They yoke the bright, ruddy one, moving around those who stand still; the lights shine in the sky.
युञ्जन्त्य् अस्य काम्या हरी विपक्षसा रथे । शोणा धृष्णू नृवाहसा
They yoke his desirable, tawny horses, with full manes, to the chariot; red, bold, bringing men.
यद् वातो ऽ अपो ऽ अगनीगन् प्रियाम् इन्द्रस्य तन्वम् । एतꣳ स्तोतर् अनेन पथा पुनर् अश्वम् आ वर्तयासि नः
When the wind, the waters, and Agni have gone forth, the beloved form of Indra—O singer, by this path, bring the horse back to us again.
वसवस् त्वाञ्जन्तु गायत्रेण छन्दसा । रुद्रास् त्वाञ्जन्तु त्रैष्टुभेन छन्दसा । आदित्यास् त्वाञ्जन्तु जागतेन छन्दसा । भूर् भुवः स्वर् लाजी3ञ् छाची3न् यव्ये गव्यऽ एतद् अन्नम् अत्त देवा ऽ एतद् अन्नम् अद्धि प्रजापते
May the Vasus anoint you with the Gāyatrī meter; may the Rudras anoint you with the Triṣṭubh meter; may the Ādityas anoint you with the Jagatī meter. Bhūr, Bhuvaḥ, Svar—may the grains, the fried barley, and the milk be yours; this is food—O gods, eat this food; O Prajāpati, eat this food.
कः स्विद् एकाकी चरति क ऽ उ स्विज् जायते पुनः । किꣳ स्विद्धिमस्य भेषजं किम् व् आवपनं महत्
Who indeed moves alone? Who, then, is born again? What is the remedy for this cold? What is the great covering?
सूर्य ऽ एकाकी चरति चन्द्रमा जायते पुनः । अग्निर् हिमस्य भेषजं भूमिर् आवपनं महत्
The sun moves alone; the moon is born again. Agni is the remedy for this cold; the earth is the great covering.
