तनूपा भिषजा सुते ऽश्विनोभा सरस्वती । अध्वा रजाꣳसीन्द्रियम् इन्द्राय पथिभिर् वहान्
The Aśvins, physicians of the body, Sarasvatī, bring strength in the pressing; they carry the power for Indra along the paths, traversing the ways.
इन्द्रायेन्दुꣳ सरस्वती नराशꣳसेन नग्नहुम् । अधाताम् अश्विना मधु भेषजं भिषजा सुते
For Indra, Sarasvatī with Naraśaṃsa and Nagnahu, the Aśvins have placed the honeyed medicine in the pressing.
आजुह्वाना सरस्वतीन्द्रायेन्द्रियाणि वीर्यम् । इडाभिर् अश्विनाव् इषꣳ समूर्जꣳ सꣳ रयिं दधुः
Sarasvatī, invoking strength and power for Indra; the Aśvins with Iḍā have bestowed food, nourishment, and wealth.
अश्विना नमुचेः सुतꣳ सोमꣳ शुक्रं परिस्रुता । सरस्वती ताम् आभरद् बर्हिषेन्द्राय पातवे
The Aśvins, for Namuci, the Soma pressed, the bright, flowing; Sarasvatī brought it to the altar for Indra to drink.
कवष्यो न व्यचस्वतीर् अश्विभ्यां न दुरो दिशः । इन्द्रो न रोदसी ऽ उभे दुहे कामान्त् सरस्वती
Like protective coverings, like shining regions, like the two Ashvins, like the distant directions, like Indra, like both the worlds—Sarasvatī grants all desires.
उषासानक्ताश्विना दिवेन्द्रꣳ सायम् इन्द्रियैः । संजानाने सुपेशसा सम् अञ्जाते सरस्वत्या
Uṣas and Night, the Ashvins, the Day, Indra in the evening with his powers—recognizing them, beautifully adorned, they are united with Sarasvatī.
पातं नो ऽ अश्विना दिवा पाहि नक्तꣳ सरस्वति । दैव्या होतारा भिषजा पाताम् इन्द्रꣳ सचा सुते
Protect us, O Ashvins, by day; protect us, Sarasvatī, by night; you two divine priests, healers, may you protect us, together with Indra, at the pressing of the Soma.
तिस्रस् त्रेधा सरस्वत्य् अश्विना भारतीडा । तीव्रं परिस्रुता सोमम् इन्द्राय सुषुवुर् मदम्
Threefold, in three ways, Sarasvatī, the Ashvins, and Bhāratī, have poured out the strong, overflowing Soma, producing exhilaration for Indra.
अश्विना भेषजं मधु भेषजं नः सरस्वती । इन्द्रे त्वष्टा यशः श्रियꣳ रूपꣳ-रूपम् अधुः सुते
The Ashvins bring healing sweetness, Sarasvatī brings healing for us; Tvaṣṭṛ, in Indra, has placed glory and beauty, form after form, at the Soma pressing.
ऋतुथेन्द्रो वनस्पतिः शशमानः परिस्रुता । कीलालम् अश्विभ्यां मधु दुहे धेनुः सरस्वती
In due season, Indra, the Lord of the Forest, rejoicing, has poured out the overflowing Soma; the cow, Sarasvatī, has milked sweet honey for the Ashvins.
गोभिर् न सोमम् अश्विना मासरेण परिस्रुता । सम् अधातꣳ सरस्वत्या स्वाहेन्द्रे सुतं मधु
With cows, O Ashvins, the Soma, overflowing in the monthly rite, has been placed together with Sarasvatī; the sweet pressed drink is for Indra, with the exclamation svāhā.
अश्विना हविर् इन्द्रियं नमुचेर् धिया सरस्वती । आ शुक्रम् आसुराद् वसु मघम् इन्द्राय जभ्रिरे
O Ashvins, the offering is strength; Sarasvatī, with the thought of Namuci, has brought the bright, divine wealth, the bounty, to Indra.
यम् अश्विना सरस्वती हविषेन्द्रम् अवर्धयन् । स बिभेद वलं मघं नमुचाव् आसुरे सचा
That offering, by which the Ashvins and Sarasvatī increased Indra, he broke open Vala, the treasure, together with Namuci, the Asura.
तम् इन्द्रꣳ सचाश्विनोभा सरस्वती । दधाना ऽ अभ्य् अनूषत हविषा यज्ञ ऽ इन्द्रियैः
That Indra, accompanied by the Ashvins and Sarasvatī, bearing the offering, they have strengthened with the sacrificial oblation and powers.
य ऽ इन्द्र ऽ इन्द्रियं दधुः सविता वरुणो भगः । स सुत्रामा हविष्पतिर् यजमानाय सश्चत
He, to whom Indra’s strength was given—Savitṛ, Varuṇa, and Bhaga—he, the strong-threaded, lord of offerings, has joined with the worshipper.
सविता वरुणो दधद् यजमानाय दाशुषे । आदत्त नमुचेर् वसु सुत्रामा बलम् इन्द्रियम्
Savitṛ and Varuṇa have given to the worshipper who serves; they have taken the wealth of Namuci, the strong-threaded, strength and power for Indra.
वरुणः क्षत्रम् इन्द्रियं भगेन सविता श्रियम् । सुत्रामा यशसा बलं दधाना यज्ञम् आशत
Varuṇa gave sovereignty and power, Bhaga and Savitṛ gave prosperity; possessing strong-threaded glory and strength, they have approached the sacrifice.
अश्विना गोभिर् इन्द्रियम् अश्वेभिर् वीर्यं बलम् । हविषेन्द्रꣳ सरस्वती यजमानम् अवर्द्धयन्
The Ashvins, with cows, gave strength; with horses, manliness and power; Sarasvatī, with the offering, increased the worshipper for Indra.
ता नासत्या सुपेशसा हिरण्यवर्तनी नरा । सरस्वती हविष्मतीन्द्र कर्मसु नो ऽवत
Those two, the Nasatyas, beautifully adorned, with golden wheels, O men, Sarasvatī, rich in offerings—may they protect us in Indra’s works.
ता भिषजा सुकर्मणा सा सुदुघा सरस्वती । स वृत्रहा शतक्रतुर् इन्द्राय दधुर् इन्द्रियम्
Those two healers, of good deeds, and Sarasvatī, the good milker—she who is the slayer of Vṛtra, of a hundred powers, has given strength to Indra.
युवꣳ सुरामम् अश्विना नमुचाव् आसुरे सचा । विपिपानाः सरस्वतीन्द्रं कर्मस्व् आवत
You two, O Ashvins, with Soma, together with Namuci, the Asura, drinking deeply, Sarasvatī—may you aid Indra in the works.
पुत्रम् इव पितराव् अश्विनोभेन्द्रावथुः काव्यैर् दꣳसनाभिः । यत् सुरामं व्यपिबः शचीभिः सरस्वती त्वा मघवन्न् अभिष्णक्
Like parents their son, the Ashvins have protected Indra with their wisdom and powers; when you, Sarasvatī, drank the Soma with the Maghavan, with your energies.
यस्मिन्न् अश्वास ऽ ऋषभास ऽ उक्षणो वशा मेषा ऽ अवसृष्टास ऽ आहुताः । कीलालपे सोमपृष्ठाय वेधसे हृदा मतिं जनये चारुम् अग्नये
In whom horses, bulls, oxen, cows, and sheep, released and offered, are consecrated— to the one who delights in Soma, the wise creator— with my heart I compose a lovely thought for Agni.
अहाव्य् अग्ने हविर् आस्ये ते स्रुचीव घृतं चम्वीव सोमः । वाजसनिꣳ रयिम् अस्मे सुवीरं प्रशस्तं धेहि यशसं बृहन्तम्
O Agni, the offering is ready for you, like clarified butter for the ladle, like Soma for the cup; bestow upon us wealth with strength, abundant in heroes, renowned, and great in glory.
अश्विना तेजसा चक्षुः प्राणेन सरस्वती वीर्यम् । वाचेन्द्रो बलेनेन्द्राय दधुर् इन्द्रियम्
The Aśvins gave sight through their energy, Sarasvatī gave vitality through breath, speech gave strength to Indra, and for Indra, the senses were established.
गोमद् ऊ षु णासत्या अश्वावद् यातम् अश्विना । वर्ती रुद्रा नृपाय्यम्
O Aśvins, come with riches full of cattle and horses; O Rudras, leaders of men, approach with sovereignty.
न यत् परो नान्तरऽ आदधर्षद् वृषण्वसू । दुःशꣳसो मर्त्यो रिपुः
Neither an outsider nor an insider, nor one with hostile intent, nor any mortal enemy, can overpower the mighty and wealthy.
ता न ऽ आ वोढम् अश्विना रयिं पिशङ्गसंदृशम् । धिष्ण्या वरिवोविदम्
May you, O Aśvins, bring us that wealth, shining like tawny gold, O mighty ones, you who open the paths.
पावका नः सरस्वती वाजेभिर् वाजिनीवती । यज्ञं वष्टु धियावसुः
May Sarasvatī, pure and rich in horses, possessing abundance, graciously accept our sacrifice, she who is wise and wealthy.
चोदयित्री सूनृतानां चेतन्ती सुमतीनाम् । यज्ञं दधे सरस्वती
Sarasvatī, inspirer of noble words, awakener of good thoughts, has established the sacrifice.
