You are welcomed, O sacred one, for you are Hari, yoked with Hari, and you belong to the two Haris. You are their wealth, overflowing with Soma, dedicated to Indra. All that is offered to you—be it horse, food, or cow—is what I partake of, that which is pleasingly presented, praised, well-spoken, well-invoked, and well-offered; I accept this food with gratitude. You, O offering, are the remover of sin—sins committed by the gods, by humans, by ancestors, and by oneself. All faults, whether known or unknown, you take away, cleansing every kind of transgression. May we together attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies, united in auspicious thought. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth upon us and wipe away all that is defective within us. O Indra, lead us with your mind, with cows, with wise and generous companions, and with well-being. With sacred utterance, with what is made by the gods, and with their favor, may we be united. Svāhā. Again, may we together attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies, united in auspicious mind. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, grant us wealth and remove any flaw from our bodies. May Dhātṛ and Rati, may Savitṛ accept this offering; may Prajāpati, the guardian of treasures, and Agni receive it. May Tvaṣṭṛ and Viṣṇu, rejoicing in offspring, grant wealth to the sacrificer. Svāhā. O gods, we have prepared a welcoming seat for you at this Soma-pressing. Come, delighting in the offerings we bear. Grant us, O Vasus, the treasures you hold. Svāhā. O Agni, bring here those eager gods, urge them to your seat. All who partake, let them ascend to the vital warmth, the radiant energy. Svāhā. In this sacrifice, O Agni, we choose you as the Hotṛ priest. Come to the rite with knowledge, favor, and prosperity, fulfilling each wish. Svāhā. The gods who know the path walk it with certainty. O lord of the mind, place this sacrifice with the wind, O god. Svāhā. Proceed to the sacrifice, to the lord of sacrifice, to your own source. Svāhā. This is your sacrifice, O lord of sacrifice, full of hymns and heroes; accept it graciously. Svāhā. Harm not, strike not, for King Varuṇa has made a broad path for the sun to follow, with steps for feet to tread. Even those who would turn away are pierced in the heart. Homage to Varuṇa; I am released from his noose. Entering the face of Agni, son of the waters, let us honor lordship in every house with fuel. Let your tongue, shining with ghee, move forth here, O Agni. Svāhā. Your heart is in the ocean, within the waters; may plants and waters enter you. To you, O lord of sacrifice, in recitation and homage, we offer this. Svāhā. O divine waters, this is your embryo; bear it well and with care. O Soma, this is your world; grant happiness and protection within it. You are the cleansing, the remover of impurity. With the gods, I have cast away the sin made by gods; with mortals, the sin made by mortals. O god of many forms, protect us from harm. You are the kindling of the gods. Let the ten-month embryo move, together with its membrane, as the wind and the ocean move. So may this embryo be born whole. For whom this sacrificial embryo is intended, for whom the golden womb is, whose limbs remain, to her may I come with the mother. Svāhā. The manifold, wise Soma has entered the greatness within, spreading to all beings with one, two, three, four, and eight feet throughout the worlds. Svāhā. He in whose dwelling the Maruts travel the paths of heaven is the most well-protected among men. May great heaven and earth not seek to measure this sacrifice, but nourish us with their abundance. Stand up, O slayer of Vṛtra, upon your chariot; your two bays are yoked by prayer. May the pressing stone, with its fire, incline your mind toward us. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat. Yoke your two tawny, strong, maned horses, O Indra, and come to the sound of our songs. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. The two bays carry Indra, whose strength none can withstand, to the praises of seers and the sacrifice of men. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. There is none born or to be born greater than he who has entered all worlds. Prajāpati, rejoicing in offspring, upholds the three lights; he is the one of sixteen parts. Indra is sovereign, Varuṇa is king; these two have made this the foremost portion. After them, I partake; may the divine speech, delighting, be satisfied with Soma, with the breath. Svāhā. O Agni, purify yourself and grant us brilliance and heroic strength. Place wealth and nourishment in me. You are received for Agni, for brilliance; this is your seat. Agni, you are most brilliant among the gods; may I be most brilliant among men. Rising up with strength, O Indra, you have shaken the Soma in the bowl. You are received for Indra, for strength; this is your seat. Indra, you are the strongest among the gods; may I be the strongest among men. His rays and visions go forth among people, shining like fires, O Sūrya. You are received for Sūrya, for brilliance; this is your seat. Sūrya, you are most radiant among the gods; may I be most radiant among men. The rays carry up Jātavedas, the Sun, for all to see. You are received for Sūrya, for brilliance; this is your seat. Let the drops enter the honey-bearing vessel for me. May nourishment and abundance flow to us again; may wealth return to me. I invoke for delight the shining offerings, O Aditi, Sarasvatī, of great renown. These are your names among the gods; may good deeds be spoken for us. O Indra, strike down our foes, subdue those who attack, and drive away the assailant. Cast down whoever opposes us into darkness. You are received for Indra, for victory; this is your seat. Let us today invoke for help the lord of speech, the all-creating one, swift in mind, in the contest. May he accept our offerings, the all-beneficent, for aid. You are received for Indra, for the all-creator; this is your seat. The all-creator, by offering and increase, made Indra the invincible protector. To him, clans gather from all sides; this mighty one is to be invoked as he should be. You are received for Indra, for the all-creator; this is your seat. You are received for Agni, with the Gāyatrī meter; for Indra, with the Triṣṭubh; for all gods, with the Jagatī; the Anuṣṭubh is your praise. Of the Vreśīna, Kukūnana, and Bhandana horses, O flyer, I offer you the smoke; of the most intoxicating and the sweetest, I offer you the pure smoke, in the form of day and sun’s rays. The form of the bull shines in the direction; the great Shukra is leader of Shukra, Soma is leader of Soma. That wakeful name of yours, born from Soma, I accept; to that Soma, svāhā. O god Soma, you are the beloved path of Agni—come. O god Soma, you are the beloved path of Indra—come. O Soma, our friend, you are the beloved path of all the gods—come.
