You are welcomed into the sacred rite, belonging to the Ādityas, the divine sons of Aditi. This Soma, prepared for Viṣṇu’s great stride, is yours; may you protect it, and may no harm befall you. Never are you weak, O Indra; you are ever united with the devotee. As you draw near, O generous one, may your gifts be sought from the gods. You too belong to the Ādityas. You never abandon those who worship; you guard both births, the mortal and immortal. May the fourth pressing of Soma, the power of the Ādityas, reach immortality in the heavens. Again, you belong to the Ādityas. The sacrifice approaches the favor of the gods; may the Ādityas be merciful. May their benevolent thoughts come close, removing distress and granting the best path. You belong to the Ādityas. O Vivasvat and all Ādityas, this is the seat of Soma dedicated to you; delight in it. Let men place their faith in your words. When the couple receives your blessings, the man and son are born, wealth is gained, and prosperity fills the house each day. Grant us prosperity today, O Savitar; grant us prosperity tomorrow and every day. May we dwell in prosperity, O god, and through this prayer, may we share prosperity. You are received, belonging to Savitar, the remover of evil. Place that removal within me. Strengthen the sacrifice and its lord, for fortune and for the god Savitar. You are received, well-protected, firmly established, with abundant milking; homage to you. You belong to all the gods. This is your seat; I place you here for all the gods. You are received, belonging to the pressed Soma of Bṛhaspati, O god Soma, to Indra, the powerful, the grahas of the husband. I am above, I am below; whatever is in the midspace, that is my father. I have seen the sun on both sides; I have seen the highest secret of the gods. O Agni, with your spouse and the god Tvaṣṭṛ, drink Soma, svāhā. Prajāpati, you are vigorous, bearer of seed; place the seed in me. May I partake of the seed of Prajāpati and the seed-bearers. You are received, Hari, yoked with Hari; you belong to the two Haris. You are their wealth, with abundant Soma, for Indra. That which is your horse-offering, your food, your cow-offering, I eat that which is pleasingly offered, praised Soma, well-spoken, well-invoked, well-offered; I eat that food. You are the remover of sin committed by gods, humans, ancestors, and oneself; you remove every kind of sin. Whatever sin I knowingly or unknowingly committed, you remove all that sin. May we attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies together, with auspicious minds. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth and wipe away whatever is defective in us. O Indra, lead us with your mind, with cows, with wise and generous companions, and with well-being. With sacred utterance, with what is made by the gods, with the favor of the worshipful gods, may we be united. Svāhā. May we attain brilliance, nourishment, and strong bodies together, with auspicious mind. May Tvaṣṭṛ, the gracious giver, bestow wealth and wipe away whatever is defective in our bodies. May Dhātṛ and Rati, may Savitṛ accept this; may Prajāpati, guardian of treasures, and Agni accept it. May Tvaṣṭṛ and Viṣṇu, rejoicing in offspring, grant wealth to the sacrificer. Svāhā. O gods, we have made for you an easy seat; you who come to this soma-pressing, delight in it. Bearing and carrying the offerings, grant us, O Vasus, the treasures. Svāhā. Bring here, O Agni, those eager gods; urge them to your own seat. All who eat and drink, let them ascend to the vital warmth, the radiant energy. Svāhā. For this sacrifice, O Agni, we choose you as the Hotṛ priest. Come to the sacrifice, knowing, with favor and prosperity, with each one, with each wish, O knower. Svāhā. The gods who know the path, having known it, travel upon it. O lord of the mind, place this sacrifice, O god, with the wind. Svāhā. Go to the sacrifice, go to the lord of sacrifice, go to your own source. Svāhā. This is your sacrifice, O lord of sacrifice, with a thousand hymns, full of all heroes; accept it with favor. Svāhā. Do not harm, do not strike. For King Varuṇa has made a broad path for the sun to follow. He has made steps for the feet to tread, and even the one who would turn away is pierced in the heart. Homage to Varuṇa; I am released from Varuṇa’s noose. Having entered the face of Agni, the son of the waters, protecting lordship, in every house let us worship with fuel, O Agni. Let your tongue, shining with ghee, move forth here. Svāhā. Your heart is in the ocean, within the waters; may the plants and waters enter you. To you, O lord of sacrifice, in the recitation of hymns and words of homage, we offer this. Svāhā. O divine waters, this is your embryo; bear it well and with care. O Soma, this is your world; in it, grant happiness and protection. You are the cleansing, the remover of impurity. With the gods, I have cast away the sin made by the gods; with mortals, the sin made by mortals. O god of many forms, protect us from harm. You are the kindling of the gods. Let the ten-month embryo move, together with its membrane. As the wind moves, as the ocean moves, so may this ten-month embryo be born, together with its membrane. For whom this sacrificial embryo is intended, for whom the golden womb is, whose limbs are not taken away, to her may I come together with the mother. Svāhā. The many-formed, manifold Soma, wise, has entered the greatness within. Spreading to the one-footed, two-footed, three-footed, four-footed, and eight-footed beings throughout the worlds. Svāhā. He in whose dwelling the Maruts, sons of the vast sky, travel on the paths of heaven—he is the most well-protected among men. May the great heaven and earth not wish to measure this sacrifice; may they nourish us with their abundance. Stand up, O slayer of Vṛtra, upon your chariot; your two bays are yoked by prayer. May the pressing stone, with its fire, make your mind incline toward us. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received. Yoke your two tawny, strong, maned horses, O Indra, who dwell in the yoke. Then, O Indra, drinker of Soma, come near to the sound of our songs. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received. The two bays carry Indra, whose strength none can withstand, to the praises of seers and the sacrifice of men. You are received for Indra, the one of sixteen parts. This is your seat; for Indra, the one of sixteen parts, you are received. There is no one born or to be born who is greater than he who has entered all the worlds. Prajāpati, rejoicing in offspring, upholds the three lights; he is the one of sixteen parts. Indra is the sovereign, Varuṇa is the king; these two have made this the foremost portion. After them, I partake of the portion; may the divine speech, delighting, be satisfied with Soma. With the breath, svāhā. O Agni, purify yourself, bestower of good, grant us brilliance and heroic strength. Place wealth and nourishment in me. You are received for Agni, for brilliance. This is your seat; for Agni, for brilliance, you are received. Agni, you are most brilliant among the gods; may I be most brilliant among men. Rising up with strength, with your mighty arms, you have shaken the Soma pressed in the bowl, O Indra. You are received for Indra, for strength. This is your seat; for Indra, for strength, you are received. Indra, you are the strongest among the gods; may I be the strongest among men. His rays, his visions, have gone forth among the people, shining like fires, O Sūrya. You are received for Sūrya, for brilliance. This is your seat; for Sūrya, for brilliance, you are received. Sūrya, you are most radiant among the gods; may I be most radiant among men. Thus, the sacred offering and prayers flow, invoking the gods, seeking their favor, and aspiring for prosperity, purity, strength, and radiance in all the worlds.
