Let us now seek to reach the blessed worlds, invoking Indra and all the gods to our side. May Indra, accompanied by the radiant Ādityas and the swift Maruts, grant us remedies for our afflictions. May they together safeguard our sacrifice, our bodies, and our offspring, ensuring their well-being and continuity. We call upon Agni, to be our boundary and our protector, to shield us with his auspicious presence. Agni, famed for his generosity and the bestower of wealth, we beseech you: grant us the brightest riches. O most radiant, shining one, we invoke you to bring favor among friends, to awaken for us, to hear our call, and to deliver us from all harm. May Agni and Earth be united for us here and now, their harmony blessing our rites. May Vāyu and the atmosphere, Āditya and the sky, the waters and Varuṇa—all these divine pairs—be joined together for our sake, here in this sacred moment. Seven companions stand, with the eighth as the very foundation of all beings; through their unity, may our desired path be fulfilled, and may understanding dawn within us. As I speak these auspicious words among all people—among Brahmins, nobles, Shudras, Aryas, my kin, and wanderers—may I become dear to the gods and to those who give generously. May my wish flourish, and may joy bow down before me. O Bṛhaspati, when the noble shines brighter than the worthy, radiant with wisdom among people, when he gives light and is born of truth, may that splendid wealth be placed among us. You are received, O Bṛhaspati; this is your seat, prepared for you. Indra, rich in cows, come and drink the Soma, O hundred-powered one, pressed with stones by those who know. This is your seat, Indra, rich in cows. Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, we invite you to drink the Soma, O hundred-powered one, pressed with stones, rich in cows. This is your seat, Indra, rich in cows. We invoke Vaiśvānara, lord of truth and light, the eternal warmth. You are received, Vaiśvānara; this is your seat. May we dwell in the favor of Vaiśvānara, the shining king among worlds. Born here, he beholds all that is; Vaiśvānara strives with the sun. This is your seat, Vaiśvānara. May the blessings of Vaiśvānara come to us from afar, with Agni’s praise and strength. This is your seat, Vaiśvānara. We call upon Agni, the seer, pure among the five peoples, the priest who wins great things. You are received, Agni, for brilliance; this is your seat. May mighty Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, grant us sixteenfold protection and destroy all evil and those who hate us. You are received, Mahendra; this is your seat. We praise Indra with our songs—the one who delights in offerings, who upholds truth, who loves the sacred drink. As cows call to their calf in the stall, so do we call to Indra with our voices. Whatever is most excellent, let us sing that to Agni, the radiant one, from whom wealth and strength arise, as from a mighty source. Come here, Agni, and listen to our many words; may you grow ever more powerful with our libations. May the seasons spread your sacrifice, Agni, and may the months protect your offerings. May the year hold your sacrifice, guarding our progeny. At the foot of the mountains, where rivers meet, the sage was born through wisdom. Your birth from the sacred drink was set high in heaven and on earth; grant us mighty protection and great fame. May this offering flow for Indra, who is worthy of worship, for Varuṇa, and for the Maruts, granting us wide space. With this offering, we seek to attain all noble powers among men, striving for their virtues. May we prosper with heroes, with cattle, with horses, with all nourishment—with bipeds and quadrupeds. O gods, guide our sacrifice in accordance with the seasons. Agni, bring here the wives of the gods, the shining ones, and Tvaṣṭṛ for the drinking of Soma. O goddesses, praise our sacrifice; Neṣṭṛ, drink according to the proper time, for you are the holder of treasures. The giver of wealth desires; offer and stand forth; let the Neṣṭṛ seek with the seasons. This Soma is yours; come with a gracious mind, drink the best. In this sacrifice, sit on the sacred grass and place this pressed Soma within you, O Indra. Come to us, well-invoked ones, sit on the sacred grass, delight in the offering. Rejoice, O Tvaṣṭṛ, together with all the gods and their offspring, O joyful host. Flow, Soma, sweet and delightful, with your stream, pressed for Indra to drink. O destroyer of demons, universal protector, approach your seat; sit in the vessel, in the place of offering. May the seasons nourish you, Agni; may the years, the sages, and the truthful sustain you. Shine forth with heavenly radiance, illuminating all four directions. Unite, Agni; awaken and rouse him. Rise up for great fortune. Let your approach bring no harm, O Agni. May the prayers of the Brahmans be for your glory, and not for others. O Agni, these priests have chosen you; be auspicious for our protection. Be the slayer of our foes, the conqueror of those who oppose us. Awaken in our home, ever watchful and never failing. Here, Agni, establish wealth for us; let not those who have harmed us before bring you down. May strength, well-disciplined, be yours, and may your approacher, unopposed, increase for you. With strength, Agni, seize a long life; with friendship, strive for what is worthy of a friend. Stand in the midst of your kin; shine here, Agni, to be invoked by kings. Surpass the hidden, surpass the secret, surpass ignorance and enmity, Agni. Overcome all evils and grant us wealth with strong companions. Unassailable, all-knowing, unconquered, glorious, Agni, upholder of sovereignty, shine here. Release all human fears; protect us today for our growth, blessing us. O Bṛhaspati, O Savitar, awaken him; guide him who is well-prepared across, lead him safely. Make him grow for great good fortune; may all the gods rejoice in him. May he come to dwell where Yama is; O Bṛhaspati, release him from the curse. May the Aśvins drive away death from him; O Agni, physician of the gods, with your powers. We have come forth from darkness into light, beholding the higher realm. We have reached the god among gods, the Sun, the highest light. His flames rise upward, the brilliant rays of Agni ascend. Most radiant is the son with beautiful form. Tanūnapāt, the wise Asura, god among gods, all-knowing—may he anoint our paths with honey and ghee. Thus, in reverence and hope, we invoke the gods, seeking their presence, their blessings, and their protection, that our sacrifice may be complete and our lives filled with light.
