O Indra and Agni, these hymns have been composed for you; come and drink the pressed Soma, delightful to you both.
O Indra and Agni, whatever eager bands are yours, O mighty ones, with them come to the worshipper.
With those bands, O heroes, come here to this Soma offering, O Indra and Agni, for the drinking of Soma.
Let the most radiant Soma flow, resounding into the vessels; let it settle in the proper places.
Let the Somas flow for Indra, for Vāyu, for Varuṇa, for the Maruts, and for Viṣṇu.
O Soma, grant nourishment and offspring to us from every side; flow forth, bringing a thousandfold wealth.
Soma, pressed by the priests and filtered, moves onward like a swift horse, advancing with a delightful stream.
In the fertile meadows, Soma, rich in cows, guarded by milk-giving kine, flows like rivers to the ocean, delighting in the exhilaration.
Whatever splendid, heavenly, or earthly wealth, O Soma, is to be praised, purified, bring that to us.
The mighty, purified one, thundering, brings life as he settles on the sacred grass; the tawny one sits in the common seat.
For you two are the lords of good things—Indra and Soma, the guardians of cattle; as rulers, make our prayers fruitful.
Indra grew strong for exhilaration, for might, the slayer of Vṛtra, with men; we call upon him in great battles—may he grant us success in contests.
You are, indeed, a heroic leader; you give abundantly; you are generous even to the humble; you grant wealth to the worshipper who presses Soma.
When the warriors are roused for battle, when the prize is set for the bold, harness your exhilaration-yielding steeds; whom will you strike, whom will you enrich? O Indra, enrich us.
The cows drink the sweet, overflowing honey; those who, together with Indra, the mighty, rejoice in strength, shine forth, possessing wealth, following the sovereignty of the sun.
Those spotted ones, the cows, press the Soma for him; dear to Indra, the cows prepare the thunderbolt and arrow, possessing wealth, following the sovereignty of the sun.
Those wise ones, with reverence, serve his might; his many ancient rites they perform for his pleasure, possessing wealth, following the sovereignty of the sun.
That Soma, pressed for exhilaration, with skill in the waters, mountain-dwelling, like an eagle, has settled in its place.
The pure one, blind to blemish, driven by the gods' wind, washed in the waters, pressed by men, the cows sweeten him with their milk.
Like a horse at the yoke, they have adorned him, the juice of sweetness for immortality, in the gathering.
Shine forth, O Lord of strength, possessing great fame, O god, inspirer of worship, open the middle vessel.
Speak forth, O skillful one, the pressed juice of the vessel, like fire among the people, O lord of the clan; flow, O Soma, rain from heaven, bring forth the stream for the winning of cows, for insight.
The child of the great ones breathes forth, stirring the brightness of truth; he becomes beloved of all, holding them together without division.
To the stone of Trita you have approached, when you found the hidden place; with the seven abodes of the sacrifice, you have reached the beloved.
With the three supports of Trita, you have moved on the backs, you have measured the course; his yokes are well-contrived.
Flow for the gaining of strength, purified by the filter, pressed out; Soma, sweeter with honey, for Indra, for Vishnu, for the gods.
You are cleansed by the thoughts, O tawny one, in the filter, without deceit; like mothers with a newborn calf, O purified one, in your course.
You have embraced both heaven and earth with your great power; you have released the covering, O purified one, by your greatness.
The invigorating drop flows, rich in strength, abundant for the cows; Soma for Indra, seeking might, for exhilaration; he strikes down the demon, drives away hostility, making a wide path, king of the people.
Then, mingled with honey, strained through the filter, the drop flows, milked from the stone; the invigorating one, delighting in Indra's friendship, the god for the god, stirs for exhilaration.
