अ सुत एति पवित्र आ त्विषिं दधान ओजसा च् विचक्षाणो विरोचयन्
The pressed juice comes, pure, bearing radiance and strength, shining forth, discerning, illuminating.
अ आविवासन्परावतो अथो अर्वावतः सुतः च् इन्द्राय सिच्यते मधु
The pressed juice is poured for Indra, from far and near, as honey flows.
अ समीचीना अनूषत हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः च् इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
In harmony, they press the tawny one with stones; they prepare the Soma for Indra to drink.
अ हिन्वन्ति सूरमुस्रयः स्वसारो जामयस्पतिम् च् महामिन्दुं महीयुवः
The sisters, skilled, press the hero, the lord of offspring; the great Soma, the mighty ones, prepare.
अ पवमान रुचारुचा देवो देवेभ्यः सुतः च् विश्वा वसून्या विश
Pavamana, shining with brilliance, the god pressed for the gods, distributes all treasures to the people.
अ आ पवमान सुष्टुतिं वृष्टिं देवेभ्यो दुवः च् इषे पवस्व संयतम्
O Pavamana, bring excellent praise and rain to the gods; flow for the gathered offering.
अ जनस्य गोपा अजनिष्ट जागृविरग्निः सुदक्षः सुविताय नव्यसे च् घृतप्रतीको बृहता दिविस्पृषा द्युमद्वि भाति भरतेभ्यः शुचिः
The guardian of the people is born, vigilant, Agni, skilled, for new prosperity; with ghee-anointed face, touching the vast sky, radiant, he shines pure for the Bharatas.
अ त्वामग्ने अङ्गिरसो गुहा हितमन्वविन्दञ्छिश्रियाणं वनेवने च् स जायसे मथ्यमानः सहो महत्वामाहुः सहसस्पुत्रमङ्गिरः
You, Agni, the Angirasas found hidden, adorned, in every forest; you are born when churned, mighty, called the son of strength, O Angiras.
अ यज्ञस्य केतुं प्रथमं पुरोहितमग्निं नरस्त्रिषधस्थे समिन्धते च् इन्द्रेण देवैः सरथं स बर्हिषि सीदन्नि होता यजथाय सुक्रतुः
Men kindle Agni, the sign of sacrifice, the first priest, in the triple seat; with Indra and the gods, he sits on the grass as the hotar, wise for worship.
अ अयं वां मित्रावरुणा सुतः सोम ऋतावृधा च् ममेदिह श्रुतं हवम्
This pressed Soma, Mitra and Varuna, grown by truth, is for you; hear my invocation here.
अ राजानावनभिद्रुहा ध्रुवे सदस्युत्तमे च् सहस्रस्थूण आशाते
The two kings, unassailable, sit firm in the highest seat, supported by a thousand pillars.
अ ता सम्राजा घृतासुती आदित्या दानुनस्पती च् सचेते अनवह्वरम्
Those sovereigns, Adityas, lords of gifts, delight in the unbroken stream of ghee.
अ इन्द्रो दधीचो अस्थभिर्वृत्राण्यप्रतिष्कुतः च् जघान नवतीर्नव
Indra, with Dadhichi's bones, unconquered, struck down ninety-nine foes.
अ इच्छन्नश्वस्य यच्छिरः पर्वतेष्वपश्रितम् च् तद्विदच्छर्यणावति
Desiring the horse's head, hidden in the mountains, he found it with the help of the falcon.
अ अत्राह गोरमन्वत नाम त्वष्टुरपीच्यम् च् इत्था चन्द्रमसो गृहे
Here they sought the name of the cow, the offspring of Tvashtar; thus, in the house of the moon.
अ इयं वामस्य मन्मन इन्द्राग्नी पूर्व्यस्तुतिः च् अभ्राद्वृष्टिरिवाजनि
This is the ancient praise of Indra and Agni, born from the mind of the lovely one, like rain from a cloud.
अ शृणुतं जरितुर्हवमिन्द्राग्नी वनतं गिरः च् ईशाना पिप्यतं धियः
Hear the invocation of the singer, Indra and Agni; accept the songs, nourish the thoughts.
अ मा पापत्वाय नो नरेन्द्राग्नी माभिशस्तये च् मा नो रीरधतं निदे
Do not bring us to evil, Indra and Agni, nor to reproach; do not harm us in our dwelling.
अ पवस्व दक्षसाधनो देवेभ्यः पीतये हरे च् मरुद्भ्यो वायवे मदः
O tawny one, flow forth, accomplishing skill, for the gods to drink; and let the exhilaration be for the Maruts, for Vāyu.
अ सं देवैः शोभते वृषा कविर्योनावधि प्रियः च् पवमानो अदाभ्यः
With the gods, the strong poet shines forth, beloved in his place of birth, the pure one, unassailable.
अ पवमान धिया हितो ऽभि योनिं कनिक्रदत् च् धर्मणा वायुमारुहः
O purified one, set in motion by thought, roaring, you approach your womb, ascending to Vāyu by your own law.
अ तवाहं सोम रारण सख्य इन्दो दिवेदिवे च् पुरूणि बभ्रो नि चरन्ति मामव परिधीं रति तांइहि
For your friendship, O Soma, O tawny Indu, I seek your favor day by day; many delights come to me—bring me that circle of joy.
अ तवाहं नक्तमुत सोम ते दिवा दुहानो बभ्र ऊधनि च् घृणा तपन्तमति सूर्यं परः शकुना इव पप्तिम
For you, O Soma, I come by night and by day to your stream, O tawny one; with longing I soar beyond the burning sun, like a bird.
अ पुनानो अक्रमीदभि विश्वा मृधो विचर्षणिः च् शुम्भन्ति विप्रं धीतिभिः
Purifying himself, he has stepped forth, the wise one, overcoming all hostilities; with their thoughts, the inspired ones adorn him.
अ आ योनिमरुणो रुहद्गमदिन्द्रं वृषा सुतम् च् ध्रुवे सदसि सीदतु
The reddish one mounts the womb, the strong one comes to Indra, pressed; let him sit in the firm seat.
अ नू नो रयिं महामिन्दो ऽस्मभ्यं सोम विश्वतः च् आ पवस्व सहस्रिणम्
Now, O Soma, pour out for us great wealth from every side; flow forth, bringing thousands.
अ पिबा सोममिन्द्र मदन्तु त्वा यं ते सुषाव हर्यश्वाद्रिः च् सोतुर्बाहुभ्यां सुयतो नार्वा
Drink the Soma, O Indra; let it exhilarate you, which the stone has pressed for you, O swift-bayed one, skillfully led by the presser's arms.
अ यस्ते मदो युज्यश्चारुरस्ति येन वृत्राणि हर्यश्व हंसि च् स त्वामिन्द्र प्रभूवसो ममत्तु
That exhilaration of yours, yoked and lovely, by which you, O swift-bayed Indra, have slain the Vṛtras—may that, O mighty one, delight you.
अ बोधा सु मे मघवन्वाचमेमां यां ते वसिष्ठो अर्चति प्रशस्तिम् च् इमा ब्रह्म सधमादे जुषस्व
Hear well, O bountiful one, this praise of mine, which Vasiṣṭha offers to you; accept these hymns at the shared feast.
अ विश्वाः पृतना अभिभूतरं नरः सजूस्ततक्षुरिन्द्रं जजनुश्च राजसे च् क्रत्वे वरे स्थेमन्यामुरीमुतोग्रमोजिष्ठं तरसं तरस्विनम्
All the hosts of men, together with their companions, have fashioned Indra for kingship; for strength, for the best station, for wide might, the fierce, most powerful, swift with force.
