अ येन ज्योतींष्यायवे मनवे च विवेदिथ च् मन्दानो अस्य बर्हिषो वि राजसि
By which you have discerned the lights for Ayu and for Manu, delighting in this seat, you shine forth in splendor.
अ तदद्या चित्त उक्थिनो ऽनु ष्टुवन्ति पूर्वथा च् वृषपत्नीरपो जया दिवेदिवे
So today, O thoughtful ones, the singers praise as before; the waters, spouses of the mighty, win day by day.
अ श्रुधी हवं तिरश्च्या इन्द्र यस्त्वा सपर्यति च् सुवीर्यस्य गोमतो रायस्पूर्धि महां असि
Hear our invocation, O Indra, for the one who worships you; you are great, fulfill us with abundant heroic strength, with wealth of cattle.
अ यस्त इन्द्र नवीयसीं गिरं मन्द्रामजीजनत् च् चिकित्विन्मनसं धियं प्रत्नामृतस्य पिप्युषीम्
O Indra, he who has created a newer, delightful song, who has fashioned a wise and ancient, nourishing thought of truth—
अ तमु ष्टवाम यं गिर इन्द्रमुक्थानि वावृधुः च् पुरूण्यस्य नौंस्या सिषासन्तो वनामहे
Let us praise him, Indra, whom hymns have strengthened; seeking his many gifts, let us strive to win his favor.
तृतीय प्रथमो ऽर्धः अ प्र त आश्विनीः पवमान धेनवो दिव्या असृग्रन्पयसा धरीमणि च् प्रान्तरिक्षात्स्थाविरीस्ते असृक्षत ये त्वा मृजन्त्यृषिषाण वेधसः
O Pavamana, the divine Ashvins' cows have flowed forth with milk upon the altar; from the atmosphere, the ancient ones have streamed, those whom the inspired, skillful ones cleanse.
अ उभयतः पवमानस्य रश्मयो ध्रुवस्य सतः परि यन्ति केतवः च् यदी पवित्रे अधि मृज्यते हरिः सत्ता नि योनौ कलशेषु सीदति
On both sides of the pure one, the rays, the steadfast ones, circle as banners, when the tawny one is purified upon the filter; he sits established in the womb, in the vessels.
अ विश्वा धामानि विश्वचक्ष ऋभ्वसः प्रभोष्टे सतः परि यन्ति केतवः च् व्यानशी पवसे सोम धर्मणा पतिर्विश्वस्य भुवनस्य राजसि
All abodes, all-seeing, the banners of the skillful, the mighty, circle around the steadfast one; Soma, you flow widely by your law, lord of all beings, you are king of the world.
अ पवमानो अजीजनद्दिवश्चित्रं न तन्यतुम् च् ज्योतिर्वैश्वानरं बृहत्
Pavamana has generated from the sky a wondrous, thunder-like sound, a great, universal light.
अ पवमान रसस्तव मदो राजन्नदुच्छुनः च् वि वारमव्यमर्षति
O Pavamana, your juice, your exhilaration, O king, unimpeded, rushes through every barrier.
अ पवमानस्य ते रसो दक्षो वि राजति द्युमान् च् ज्योतिर्विश्वं स्वर्दृशे
The essence of you, O Pavamana, shines forth with skill, radiant; the light, all-seeing, for the vision of heaven.
अ प्र यद्गावो न भूर्णयस्त्वेषा अयासो अक्रमुः च् घ्नन्तः कृष्णामप त्वचम्
When, like eager cows, the swift, strong ones have rushed forth, striking off the black skin.
अ सुवितस्य मनामहे ऽति सेतुं दुराय्यम् च् साह्याम दस्युमव्रतम्
We seek the favor of the well-bestowed one, to cross over the difficult barrier; may we overcome the lawless foe.
अ शृण्वे वृष्टेरिव स्वनः पवमानस्य शुष्मिणः च् चरन्ति विद्युतो दिवि
The sound of Pavamana, mighty, is heard like the roar of rain; lightnings move in the sky.
अ आ पवस्व महीमिषं गोमदिन्दो हिरण्यवत् च् अश्ववत्सोम वीरवत्
Flow for us, O Soma, with great riches, with cattle, with gold, with horses, with heroes.
अ पवस्व विश्वचर्षण आ मही रोदसी पृण च् उषाः सूर्यो न रश्मिभिः
Flow, O all-cherishing one, fill the great heavens and earth; shine forth with your rays like the dawn and the sun.
अ परि नः शर्मयन्त्या धारया सोम विश्वतः च् सरा रसेव विष्टपम्
O Soma, with your all-encompassing stream, grant us shelter; flow over the expanse like a juice spreading everywhere.
अ आशुरर्ष बृहन्मते परि प्रियेण धाम्ना च् यत्र देवा इति ब्रुवन्
Rush forth, O mighty one, with your lofty mind, encircle with your beloved abode, where the gods, they say, reside.
अ परिष्कृण्वन्ननिष्कृतं जनाय यातयन्निषः च् वृष्टिं दिवः परि स्रव
Purifying what is impure, driving away evil for the people, pour down the rain from heaven.
अ अयं स यो दिवस्परि रघुयामा पवित्र आ च् सिन्धोरूर्मा व्यक्षरत्
This is he who, purified through the filter, swiftly flows around the sky; the wave of the river has spread out.
अ सुत एति पवित्र आ त्विषिं दधान ओजसा च् विचक्षाणो विरोचयन्
The pressed juice comes, pure, bearing radiance and strength, shining forth, discerning, illuminating.
अ आविवासन्परावतो अथो अर्वावतः सुतः च् इन्द्राय सिच्यते मधु
The pressed juice is poured for Indra, from far and near, as honey flows.
अ समीचीना अनूषत हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः च् इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
In harmony, they press the tawny one with stones; they prepare the Soma for Indra to drink.
अ हिन्वन्ति सूरमुस्रयः स्वसारो जामयस्पतिम् च् महामिन्दुं महीयुवः
The sisters, skilled, press the hero, the lord of offspring; the great Soma, the mighty ones, prepare.
अ पवमान रुचारुचा देवो देवेभ्यः सुतः च् विश्वा वसून्या विश
Pavamana, shining with brilliance, the god pressed for the gods, distributes all treasures to the people.
अ आ पवमान सुष्टुतिं वृष्टिं देवेभ्यो दुवः च् इषे पवस्व संयतम्
O Pavamana, bring excellent praise and rain to the gods; flow for the gathered offering.
अ जनस्य गोपा अजनिष्ट जागृविरग्निः सुदक्षः सुविताय नव्यसे च् घृतप्रतीको बृहता दिविस्पृषा द्युमद्वि भाति भरतेभ्यः शुचिः
The guardian of the people is born, vigilant, Agni, skilled, for new prosperity; with ghee-anointed face, touching the vast sky, radiant, he shines pure for the Bharatas.
अ त्वामग्ने अङ्गिरसो गुहा हितमन्वविन्दञ्छिश्रियाणं वनेवने च् स जायसे मथ्यमानः सहो महत्वामाहुः सहसस्पुत्रमङ्गिरः
You, Agni, the Angirasas found hidden, adorned, in every forest; you are born when churned, mighty, called the son of strength, O Angiras.
अ यज्ञस्य केतुं प्रथमं पुरोहितमग्निं नरस्त्रिषधस्थे समिन्धते च् इन्द्रेण देवैः सरथं स बर्हिषि सीदन्नि होता यजथाय सुक्रतुः
Men kindle Agni, the sign of sacrifice, the first priest, in the triple seat; with Indra and the gods, he sits on the grass as the hotar, wise for worship.
अ अयं वां मित्रावरुणा सुतः सोम ऋतावृधा च् ममेदिह श्रुतं हवम्
