Agni, Agni, with offerings ever do the clans call you, lord of the people, bearer of oblations, much beloved.
O Agni, bring here the gods, you who are born on the sacred grass; you are the priest, worthy of praise.
We call upon Mitra and Varuṇa, for the drinking of Soma, both born with purified insight.
By truth, you both uphold the order, lords of the light of truth; these Mitra and Varuṇa I invoke.
Let Varuṇa, the protector, and Mitra, with all their aids, grant us their gracious favor.
To Indra, the singers raise their song; with hymns, the chanters praise Indra, and voices call upon Indra.
Indra, together with the two fires, joined in purpose, yoked with speech, Indra the wielder of the golden thunderbolt.
Indra, protect us in contests and in battles for a thousandfold prize, O mighty one, with your mighty aids.
Indra, for far-seeing vision, made the sun rise in the sky; with rays he broke the mountain apart.
To Indra and Agni, we offer great reverence with splendid praise; with thought, like cows, seeking help.
For these, indeed, the wise ever praise in this way for help, for the winning of strength in battle.
You two, with eloquent words, eager, we call; seeking wisdom, we desire your gifts.
O strong one, flow forth with your stream, exhilarating for the Maruts; grant us, bearing strength, your gift.
You, purifier, supporter of the two strong ones, seer of the sun, I urge on in contests, swift in battle.
With this pure filter, O tawny one, flow forth with your stream; urge your yoked one in the contests.
The strong, red one, loudly bellowing, you set earth and sky to resound; like Indra's fire, hear this my speech, urging on in the contest.
Rich in sap, swelling with juice, you flow, sending forth the sweetest draught; O purifier, you make the stream for Indra, Soma, being poured out.
So flow, exhilarating one, for intoxication, bowing down the hostile, bearing your shining form around, like cows, Soma, flow around, sprinkled.
It is you whom we invoke, O Indra, for the prize of strength, O lord of men; in battles, O Indra, the true lord, men call upon you from every side.
So you, O wondrous one, thunderbolt in hand, praised with might, stone-wielder, scatter for us cattle, horses, and chariots, O Indra; grant us strength for victory in every contest.
Now, as is known, praise Indra, the bestower of riches, who, for the singers, Maghavan, the generous, grants gifts as if by the thousand.
Like a leader with a hundred armies, he advances with might, striking down obstacles for the worshipper; his abundant gifts flow forth like streams from a mountain.
To you, O Indra, men have long poured out their offerings, O wielder of the bolt; so, Indra, who is carried by hymns, hear us here—come to your own kin.
Rejoice, O beautiful-nosed, tawny one; we seek you—by you the wise are adorned. Your renowned, praiseworthy glories, O Indra, are manifest in the pressings, O singer to the gods.
With that most excellent exhilaration of yours, flow forth with the pressed Soma, O god, O heroic one, destroyer of evil speech.
You slew Vṛtra, the enemy, you won the prize day by day; you are the winner of cows, the winner of horses.
You have become mingled, ruddy, with the nourishing ones like cows at the stall; you have settled, like a falcon in its nest.
This Pūṣan is wealth, fortune; Soma, being purified, flows forth. The lord of all abundance has revealed both heaven and earth.
Together the beloved, eager cows have hastened for exhilaration; the purifying Somas, the drops, make their way, creating a path.
Bring us the most vigorous glory, O purifying one, that which surpasses all; with which we may conquer riches among the five peoples.
