A happy step, a generous gift, he does not violate desire, nor does he harm the wealth of the wealthy.
Ever pure are the cows, all-yielding; ever faultless are the gods.
Come here with the forest, together with the cows; let them approach the path with their udders.
Dwelling in sweetness, let us prosper in wealth, let us gain insight, O Indra.
The Maruts praise the Sun with hymns; the youthful, famed Indra is exalted.
Sing forth a song for Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, the inspired one, whom you delight in.
Agni is unceasing, wise, the bearer of offerings, of goodly chariot.
Agni, you are our nearest, also our protector, auspicious, a sheltering one.
Bhaga, the splendid, like Agni, bestows the treasure of the great.
Proclaim everywhere, in the front or in the assembly; come here now.
Dawn, most beloved of sisters, sets the path in motion, beautifully born.
Now, for whom do these worlds exist? For Indra and all the gods.
Let the gifts come to you, Indra, as streams flow along their course.
With this, may we attain the prize established by the gods, may we rejoice, strong with a hundred powers, blessed with good heroes.
Mitra and Varuna pour forth nourishment; make rich food for us, O Indra.
Indra reigns over all.
In the Trikadruka sacrifice, the mighty one with barley-mixed soma, powerful and eager, drank the pressed soma with Vishnu, as he wished; he delighted in it, to perform a great deed, vast in strength; the god accompanied the god, the true drop accompanied true Indra.
This one, of a thousand measures, the vision of the wise, the thought, the light, the upholder of order, the shining one, brought together the dawns, those who are without guile, with insight, in their own place, full of resolve, searching for the cow.
Indra, come to us from afar, come here as the lord of the assembly; as a king, as the true lord, we call you, eager for gifts, at the pressings, like sons calling their father for the prize, for the greatest prize.
I call to that Indra, the generous, the mighty, who holds everything together, unconquered, of great fame; most powerful, worthy of praise with songs and sacrifice, may he turn towards us for wealth, may the wielder of the thunderbolt make all good paths for us.
Let there be hearing; let us place Agni in the front with thought; now let us choose that divine strength; we choose Indra and Vayu; when they, striving, join the new navel of the shining one, then indeed our thoughts approach the gods, our thoughts approach the gods.
May our thoughts go forth to the great Vishnu, to the Maruts, born of the mountain, to the Maruts for their troop, for sacrifice, for easy giving, for strength, for the bestowal of blessings, to the upholders of vows, to the mighty.
With this golden radiance, purified, he overcomes all hatreds with his team, like the sun with his team; the streams on his back shine, purified, the ruddy, golden one, as he moves through all forms with his seven songs, with his seven mouths.
I praise that god Savitar, the mighty, of wise action, true in impulse, the treasure-holder, with dear thought; whose thought is raised high, whose impulse flashes forth; in his command, the golden-handed, the good in action, has measured out the heavens, the self-radiant one.
I consider Agni the priest, the generous one, son of strength, knower of all births, wise as the knower of all births; who, with upright rites, is the god with divine compassion, the spreader of ghee, with bright flame, who calls forth the clarified butter.
That first, ancient deed of yours, O heroic Indra, is to be spoken of in heaven; which, by the god's might, you accomplished, breaking open the waters, you made all the world overflow with strength, O hundred-powered one, you made nourishment, you made food.
Thus to Indra, at the festival... O Pavamana, you, born of the pressing, have placed your seat in heaven and on earth; mighty protection, great fame.
With the sweetest, most delightful stream, flow, Soma, pressed for Indra to drink.
O vigorous one, flow with your stream, with strength for the Maruts; bearing all powers, surge forth with energy.
With that most excellent exhilaration of yours, flow forth with the sacred drink, O god, heroic one, destroyer of curses.
