I praise that fifth, the foremost portion, O Indra, your might, the highest for divine attainment, by which you struck down Vṛtra with your power, O lord of strength.
By whose exhilaration you, Indra, broke Śambara for Divodāsa—this Soma is pressed for you; drink it.
Indra, grant us your favor, beloved, unconcealed by enemies, as a mountain broad on every side, lord of heaven.
That exhilaration, O Indra, most Soma-loving, most powerful, stirs you; by it you struck down the lawless one—may we obtain that.
For the weak and the feeble, grant us that—make our life firm for living. O mighty Ādityas, act together.
For you, O thunder-handed, know the courses of destruction; day by day, you cleanse, as one does the tracks.
O Adityas, drive away the evil of waters, dispel the triple harm, remove the ill intention; protect us from distress.
Drink the Soma, Indra, let it delight you; that which the stone, swift as a horse, has pressed for you, the skillful one, with both arms.
Indra, you are without enmity, without hostility, ancient by birth; you seek to fight, you desire to be a father.
He who brought us this wealth before, I praise him as a friend, Indra, for help.
Come, do not hesitate; set out, do not stand still; united in purpose, even the firm ones can be moved.
Come here for this offering, O Indra, lord of horses, lord of cows, lord of fields; drink the Soma, lord of Soma.
By you, O bull, with your thunder, we speak to the breathing one; in the assembly of the people rich in cows.
Even the cows, united in kinship, the Maruts, with their companions, move together, their forms mingling.
Indra, bring us strength and heroism, O hundred-powered, wise one; bring us a warrior who withstands battles.
Therefore, Indra, singer of praises, we seek you with desire, we summon you; let them come up with waters.
Your birds sit as in a cow's shelter, in the honeyed, intoxicating place; we praise you, Indra.
We, bearing you, O unprecedented one, like a mighty load, O Vajra-holder, call upon you, wondrous one, for help.
Sweetly, thus, the cows drink the flowing honey; those who rejoice with Indra, the mighty one, shine, possessing wealth, following the sovereignty of the sun.
Thus, Soma, the delight, made prayer; the most powerful, the Vajra-holder, with his strength, spread out the earth, killed the serpent, following the sovereignty of the sun.
Indra grew strong for delight, for might, the slayer of Vritra, with men; we call upon him in great battle, let him come to us in victory.
Indra, for you, O stone-pressed, is this unmatched heroism, O Vajra-holder; when you killed that cunning beast with your cunning, following the sovereignty of the sun.
Go forth, come near, be bold; your thunderbolt does not fail; Indra, your heroism is strength, slay the Vritra, conquer the waters, following the sovereignty of the sun.
When the victorious ones rise, wealth is given to the bold; harness the horses moved by delight, slay whom you wish, grant wealth to whom you wish; for us, Indra, grant wealth.
They have not failed, nor have they faltered; indeed, the beloved ones have not been harmed, nor have they been diminished. The self-luminous sages, with ever-new insight, yoke, O Indra, your two steeds.
Hear our songs, O bountiful one, as a mother listens; when will you make us, who speak well, prosper? For this purpose, let your two steeds be yoked, O Indra.
The moon is within the waters; the splendid bird runs in the sky; your golden-wheeled ones find their path like lightning. The two worlds are aware of his wealth.
To you, O Ashvins, the praiser adorns your most beloved, mighty chariot, the bringer of wealth, with hymns; listen to my sweet invocation.
To you, O Agni, we kindle the ever-youthful, radiant god. In battle, your most precious flame shines forth; bring the heavenly portion to the worshippers.
With our own praises, we choose you, Agni, as the Hotar, wise, with shining flames. In your joy, at the sacrifices, on the strewn grass, bring forth the offering.
