कङ्काः सुपर्णा अनु यन्त्वेनान्गृध्राणामन्नमसावस्तु सेना मैषां मोच्यघहारश्च नेन्द्र वयांस्येनाननुसंयन्तु सर्वान्

Let the kites and great birds follow this, let the vultures have the flesh of the slain; let the army be free from harm, and let all the birds not follow any of mine.

अमित्रसेनां मघवन्नस्माञ्छत्रुयतीमभि उभौ तामिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नग्निश्च दहतं प्रति

O Maghavan, scatter the hostile army that opposes us; O Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, and Agni, burn them on both sides.

यत्र बाणाः सम्पतन्ति कुमारा विशिखा इव तत्रा नो ब्रह्मणस्पतिरदितिः शर्म यच्छतु विश्वाहा शर्म यच्छतु

Where the arrows fall, where the youths are like arrows, there may Bṛhaspati and Aditi grant us protection, may they always grant us protection.

वि रक्षो वि मृधो जहि वि वृत्रस्य हनू रुज वि मन्युमिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नमित्रस्याभिदासतः

Scatter the demons, scatter the foes, break the jaws of Vṛtra, shatter the wrath, O Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, of the assailing enemy.

वि न इन्द्र मृधो जहि नीचा यच्छ पृतन्यतः यो अस्मां अभिदासत्यधरं गमया तमः

Scatter our foes, O Indra, cast down the assailants; whoever attacks us, send him down into darkness.

इन्द्रस्य बाहू स्थविरौ युवानावनाधृष्यौ सुप्रतीकावसह्यौ तौ युञ्जीत प्रथमौ योग आगते याभ्यां जितमसुराणां सहो महत्

The two arms of Indra, firm and youthful, invincible, of good aspect, irresistible—let them be harnessed at the first call to battle, by which the great strength of the Asuras was conquered.

मर्माणि ते वर्मणा च्छादयामि सोमस्त्वा राजामृतेनानु वस्ताम् उरोर्वरीयो वरुणस्ते कृणोतु जयन्तं त्वानु देवा मदन्तु

I cover your vital parts with armor; may Soma, the king, anoint you with ambrosia; may Varuṇa make you victorious; may the gods gladden you.

अन्धा अमित्रा भवताशीर्षाणो ऽहय इव तेषां वो अग्निनुन्नानामिन्द्रो हन्तु वरंवरम्

Let the enemies become blind, headless, like serpents; may Indra slay them again and again, those struck down by Agni.

यो नः स्वो ऽरणो यश्च निष्ट्यो जिघांसति देवास्तं सर्वे धूर्वन्तु ब्रह्म वर्म ममान्तरं शर्म वर्म ममान्तरम्

Whoever among us is hostile, or who, near or far, wishes to harm us—may all the gods strike him down; may prayer be my armor within, may protection be my armor within.

मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः परावत आ जगन्था परस्याः सृकं संशाय पविमिन्द्र तिग्मं वि शत्रूं ताढि वि मृधो नुदस्व

Like a fearsome beast, roaming the mountains, you have reached the lair of the foe; fitting the sharp arrow to the bow, O Indra, strike down the enemies, scatter the foes.

भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवा भद्रं पश्येमाक्षभिर्यजत्राः स्थिरैरङ्गैस्तुष्टुवां सस्तनूभिर्व्यशेमहि देवहितं यदायुः

May we hear what is auspicious with our ears, O gods; may we see what is auspicious with our eyes, O worshipful ones; may we, strong in limbs, praising you, live out the life allotted by the gods.

स्वस्ति न इन्द्रो वृद्धश्रवाः स्वस्ति नः पूषा विश्ववेदाः स्वस्ति नस्तार्क्ष्यो अरिष्टनेमिः स्वस्ति नो बृहस्पतिर्दधातु

May Indra of renowned glory grant us well-being; may Pūṣan, knower of all, grant us well-being; may Tārkṣya of unbroken wheels grant us well-being; may Bṛhaspati bestow well-being upon us.

ॐ स्वस्ति नो बृहस्पतिर्दधातु

Om, may Bṛhaspati bestow well-being upon us.
