By his power, the strong, the ruddy, the eagle, ever heroic, ever steadfast, perceives the truth as his food; his wealth is not vain, he is both conqueror and giver.
With these he gave manly powers and heroic deeds, with which the wielder of the bolt poured for the slaying of Vṛtra; the gods were born from the great act, apart from the act itself.
This Soma has been pressed; the Maruts drink of it, and so do the radiant Ashvins.
Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuna drink the pure Soma, each according to their share, from the threefold vessel.
And Indra, too, delights in the rich Soma, like a morning priest, enjoying its pleasure.

You are great, O Surya; you are Aditya, the mighty one. Your greatness is supreme among those who are great; by your vastness, O god, you are truly great.
O Surya, by your fame you are great; by your power, O god, you are great. By your vastness, you are the foremost among gods, O Asurya, the priest, the all-pervading light, unassailable.

Come to us with your steeds, O lord of delights, to the pressed Soma; come to us with your steeds, to the Soma.
Indra, the slayer of Vritra, the wise, the hundred-powered, come to us with your steeds, to the Soma.

For you, O Vritra-slayer, are the protector of these Somas; come to us with your steeds, to the Soma.
Offer to the great, the greatly increasing, the wise; create good favor. Let the ancient peoples move forward, O leaders of men.
To the broad-minded, the mighty, the sages generate beautiful praise for Indra. The wise do not transgress his commands.
The hymns have placed Indra, the unconquerable in spirit, the king, together with the other kings, for companionship, for the tawny-horsed one, with the sacrificial grass, in union.
O Indra, as far as you are, so far may I be master; I have placed the singer in your care for gifts, not for harm.
I would learn, O generous one, to honor you day by day, wherever I may be. For apart from you, Maghavan, there is no other source of wealth, nor even a father.
Hear the call of the one who pours, O mountain-dweller; perceive the thought of the inspired one who chants. Grant us your favor, so that we may be joined with you.
I do not reject your words, O mighty one, nor the praise of the powerful Asura, being wise. I always proclaim your name and your own glory.
For you have many offerings among men; many inspired ones invoke you. Do not let us, O Maghavan, be deprived of your favor.
Raise a shout for Indra, the foremost in battle, even from afar. In every gathering, in every contest, O Vritra-slayer, be mindful of us when urged. Let the bows of others be broken on the battlefield.
You released the rivers, O Indra, and struck down the low ones; you shattered the frost. You are unconquered, O Indra, born for victory. You grant all desirable things. We embrace you; let the bows of others be broken on the battlefield.
Let all hostile powers be scattered far, as enemies vanish, and may our thoughts remain firm; Indra, bring destruction to the foe who seeks to harm us. May your gift, O generous one, surpass those of others; may your bowstring be drawn on the field of battle.
May the praiser, endowed with wealth, become prosperous through you, O bountiful one; come swiftly, O Indra, to the pressed Soma.
Neither the hymn being recited nor the wealth being praised escapes your notice, nor the song being sung, O Indra.
Do not, O Indra, let us fall into weakness or give us over to others; grant us strength with your powers.

Here, let the stone speak to you, O Soma-drinker, let it call out with sound; ascend to the heaven of him who commands, to the heaven where you dwell by day.
Flow, Soma, delighting Indra, most sweet with honey.
Those pressed juices, full of wisdom, bright, have flowed to Vayu.
They have flowed for the gods’ favor, racing like chariots.
