स इधानो वसुष्कविरग्निरीडेन्यो गिरा रेवदस्मभ्यं पुर्वणीक दीदिहि
He who is kindled, rich in goods, Agni, worthy of praise with song, shine forth for us, O leader, with wealth.
क्षपो राजन्नुत त्मनाग्ने वस्तोरुतोषसः स तिग्मजम्भ रक्षसो दह प्रति
O king Agni, by your nature, by night and by day, and by the dawns, with your sharp jaws burn away the demons.
विशोविशो वो अतिथिं वाजयन्तः पुरुप्रियम् अग्निं वो दुर्यं वच स्तुषे शूषस्य मन्मभिः
In every house, exalting your guest, beloved by many, Agni, I praise your ancient word with my hymns of strength.
यं जनासो हविष्मन्तो मित्रं न सर्पिरासुतिम् प्रशंसन्ति प्रशस्तिभिः
Whom the people, offering oblations, praise with praises, as a friend with clarified butter.
पन्यांसं जातवेदसं यो देवतात्युद्यता हव्यान्यैरयद्दिवि
The wise knower of all births, who, surpassing the gods, bore the offerings upward to heaven.
समिद्धमग्निं समिधा गिरा गृणे शुचिं पावकं पुरो अध्वरे ध्रुवम् विप्रं होतारं पुरुवारमद्रुहं कविं सुम्नैरीमहे जातवेदसम्
The kindled Agni, with fuel, with song I praise—the pure, shining one, foremost at the sacrifice, the steadfast sage, Hotar, of many boons, sinless, poet, we seek with blessings, O knower of all births.
त्वां दूतमग्ने अमृतं युगेयुगे हव्यवाहं दधिरे पायुमीड्यम्. देवासश्च मर्त्तासश्च जागृविं विभुं विश्पतिं नमसा नि षेदिरे
You, Agni, immortal messenger, have been established in every age as the carrier of offerings, the guardian, and the one worthy of praise. Both gods and mortals, vigilant and mighty, lord of the clans, have approached you with reverence.
विभूषन्नग्न उभयां अनु व्रता दूतो देवानां रजसी समीयसे यत्ते धीतिं सुमतिमावृणीमहे ऽध स्मा नस्त्रिवरूथः शिवो भव
Adorned, Agni, you follow both sets of laws, as messenger of the gods you traverse the realms. We seek your wisdom and favor; thus, be gracious and threefold protector for us.
उप त्वा जामयो गिरो देदिशतीर्हविष्कृतः वायोरनीके अस्थिरन्
To you, the wives send their songs, directed towards you, as offerings are placed in the domain of Vayu.
यस्य त्रिधात्ववृतं बर्हिस्तस्थावसन्दिनम् आपश्चिन्नि दधा पदम्
Upon whose triple-covered sacred grass, steadfast and joined, even the waters have set their step.
पदं देवस्य मीढुषो ऽनाधृष्टाभिरूतिभिः भद्रा सूर्य इवोपदृक्
The step of the generous god, with unconquered approaches, is auspicious, like the gaze of the sun.
सप्तम तृतीयो ऽर्धः अभि त्वा पूर्वपीतय इन्द्र स्तोमेभिरायवः समीचीनास ऋभवः समस्वरन्रुद्रा गृणन्त पूर्व्यम्
The seventh, the third part, they sing to you, Indra, with ancient praises; the skillful ones, harmonious, the Rudras, celebrate the ancient one.
अस्येदिन्द्रो वावृधे वृष्ण्यं शवो मदे सुतस्य विष्णवि अद्या तमस्य महिमानमायवो ऽनु ष्टुवन्ति पूर्वथा
Indra has grown in strength and power through the exhilaration of the pressed Soma; today, the mighty ones praise his greatness as in former times.
प्र वामर्चन्त्युक्थिनो नीथाविदो जरितारः इन्द्राग्नी इष आ वृणे
The singers, skilled in hymns and guidance, praise you, Indra and Agni; I seek your favor and wealth.
इन्द्राग्नी नवतिं पुरो दासपत्नीरधूनुतम् साकमेकेन कर्मणा
Indra and Agni, you have shaken ninety fortresses of the Dasa women together with a single deed.
इन्द्राग्नी अपसस्पर्युप प्र यन्ति धीतयः ऋतस्य पथ्या ऽ ऽ अनु
Indra and Agni, the prayers approach you; they follow the paths of truth.
इन्द्राग्नी तविषाणी वां सधस्थानि प्रयांसि च युवोरप्तूर्यं हितम्
Indra and Agni, your mighty powers and abodes, and your beneficial actions, are unfailing.
शग्ध्यू षु शचीपत इन्द्र विश्वाभिरूतिभिः भगं न हि त्वा यशसं वसुविदमनु शूर चरामसि
Grant, O Indra, master of power, with all unconquered approaches, fortune; for you, renowned and knowing wealth, we strive, O hero.
पौरो अश्वस्य पुरुकृद्गवामस्युत्सो देव हिरण्ययः न किर्हि दानं परि मर्धिषत्वे यद्यद्यामि तदा भर
Many are the gifts of horses and cattle, O god, the golden source; do not withhold the giving, but grant whatever I seek.
त्वं ह्येहि चेरवे विदा भगं वसुत्तये उद्वावृषस्व मधवन्गविष्टय उदिन्द्राश्वमिष्टये
Come, indeed, to the one who desires, grant fortune and wealth; raise up sweetness for the seeking of cattle, and for the seeking of horses, O Indra.
त्वं पुरू सहस्राणि शतानि च यूथा दानाय मंहसे आ पुरन्दरं चकृम विप्रवचस इन्द्रं गायन्तो ऽवसे
You have many thousands and hundreds of herds for giving and greatness; we have made Purandara, Indra, renowned through our songs for help.
यो विश्वा दयते वसु होता मन्द्रो जनानाम् मधोर्न पात्रा प्रथमान्यस्मै प्र स्तोमा यन्त्वग्नये
He who gives all wealth, the delightful priest among people, to him the first vessels of honey go; let the praises reach Agni.
अश्व न गीर्भी रथ्यं सुदानवो मर्मृज्यन्ते देवयवः उभे तोके तनये दस्म विस्पते पर्षि राधो मघोनाम्
Like a horse with words, the generous ones, skilled in chariots, are praised; both in offspring and descendants, O wondrous lord of clans, you grant the wealth of the generous.
इमं मे वरुण श्रुधी हवमद्या च मृडय त्वामवस्युरा चके
Hear my invocation, Varuna, and today show mercy; I have turned to you for help.
कया त्वं न ऊत्याभि प्र मन्दसे वृषन् कया स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
With what help, O mighty one, do you not grow weary? With what support do you bring gifts to your worshippers?
इन्द्रमिद्देवतातय इन्द्रं प्रयत्यध्वरे इन्द्रं समीके वनिनो हवामह इन्द्रं धनस्य सातये
To Indra, indeed, the offerings are brought; to Indra, at the sacrifice, the priests call; to Indra, for the gaining of wealth, we invoke Indra, the bestower of riches.
इन्द्रो मह्ना रोदसी पप्रथच्छव इन्द्रः सूर्यमरोचयत् इन्द्रे ह विश्वा भुवनानि येमिर इन्द्रे सुवानास इन्दवः
By his greatness, Indra has spread out heaven and earth; by his might, Indra made the sun shine; in Indra, indeed, all beings are contained; in Indra, the pressed Soma flows.
विश्वकर्मन्हविषा वावृधानः स्वयं यजस्व तन्वां स्वा हि ते मुह्यन्त्वन्ये अभितो जनास इहास्माकं मघवा सूरिरस्तु
O all-creating one, growing through the offering, worship yourself with your own form; for yours is true power. Let others be confused all around; here, may our generous lord be wise for us.
अया रुचा हरिण्या पुनानो विश्वा द्वेषांसि तरति सयुग्वभिः सूरो न सयुग्वभिः धारा पृष्ठस्य रोचते पुनानो अरुषो हरिः विश्वा यद्रूपा परियास्यृक्वभिः सप्तास्येभिरृक्वभिः
Purifying himself with this shining golden hue, he overcomes all hatreds with his team; like the sun with his team, the stream on his back shines forth, the purifying ruddy one, the tawny one. When he moves in all forms with the hymns, with his seven mouths, with the hymns.
प्राचीमनु प्रदिशं पाति चेकितत्सं रश्मिभिर्यतते दर्शतो रथो दैव्यो दर्शतो रथः अग्मन्नुक्थानि पौंस्येन्द्रं जैत्राय हर्षयत वज्रश्च यद्भवथो अनपच्युता समत्स्वनपच्युता
The wise one protects according to the eastern direction; with his rays, the chariot of the seer strives forth, the divine, visible chariot. The hymns have come, O heroic Indra, to gladden you for victory, and when you become the unbroken thunderbolt in battles, unbroken.
