Now, O wise Asura, we seek you as our share of wealth, like a vast skin; Indra, let your favor reach us for shelter.
We have chosen you, the most worshipful god, as the immortal priest among the gods, wise in this sacrifice.
To the offspring of waters, gracious, radiant Agni, of excellent flame, may he grant us the favor of Mitra and Varuṇa, and the blessing of the waters in heaven.
O Agni, whom you protect among mortals in contests, whom you aid in prizes, he attains lasting riches.
No one can withstand his strength or surpass him; even the least has a prize worthy of fame.
May he, the prize, be won by all peoples with horses, may he be seized by sages, may he be the bringer of wealth.
Together, the ten sisters, thoughts of the wise, cleanse; the bowstrings, the tawny one runs around the vessel of the sun, like a steed at the prize.
Like a calf with its mothers, the mighty one, bearing many gifts, moves with waters; like a youth among women, he goes forth, the vessel with the cows.
The wise Soma flows forth, joining with streams, filling the udder; cows sprinkle the head with milk in the vessels, as treasures are poured out.
Drink the pressed juice, delight in it, O Indra, rich in cows; be our ally in the shared feast, may your thoughts support us.
May we be favored by your generosity, O giver of prizes; let us not fall to the enemy; may your splendid aids protect us, guide us to your favor.
Three times, seven cows have milked for him, true and strong, in the highest heaven; four other worlds he has separated, he has made them beautiful.
He, consuming the delightful nectar, has spread both heaven and earth with his poetry; the most powerful waters have expanded in greatness, when, by the fame of the god, the seat was known.
Let these be his signs, immortal and invincible, in both births; by which, with heroism and divine power, they purified, and then seized the king with their thoughts.
I praise Vāyu with hymns, I purify Mitra and Varuṇa; I purify the wise, chariot-bearing man, and Indra, the mighty, with the thunderbolt in his hand.
I purify the garments, well-clad; I purify the cows, richly yielding; I purify the splendid, golden, horse-drawn chariots for our lord, Soma, the god.
I purify for us the divine treasures, I purify all earthly things; by which we may attain wealth, I purify, O descendant of Jamadagni, for us.
When you were born, O Maghavan, for the slaying of Vṛtra, then you expanded the earth, then you supported it, and also the heaven.
Then your sacrifice was born, then the hymn and the bright praise; then you became lord over all that has arisen and all that is living.
Cooked within them, bring forth; raise the sun in the sky, like heat, let the song shine, adorned with beautiful praises, great for the singer.
Your greatness is drunk like a fish drinks, O tawny one, like the desire for the cup; your mighty Soma, O bull, is rich in prizes and brings a thousandfold reward.
Let your desire come to us, O bull, let the noble exhilaration come; mighty Indra, victorious in battle, bring us the reward.
For you are the hero, the winner, the driver of the human chariot; mighty, you destroy the lawless enemy, like a cup shining with fire.
Sixth, third, half—purify, bring the rain for us; let the wave of waters from heaven, great and free from illness, bring us nourishment.
Purify with that stream by which the cows have come here, born for us, to our home.
Purify ghee with the stream, most beloved by the gods in sacrifices; bring rain for us, purify.
For us, flow with strength, stream through the purifier with the stream; let the gods hear our desire.
The flowing one has shattered the obstacles, has driven away the enemies, shining with ancient lights.
Bring to him who desires, who knows all things, for the one who is ready to go, for the one who journeys, for the men on the path behind.
With these, approach him, with the Somās, the drinker of Soma; with the pure, with the strong, with the pressed drops, approach Indra.
