आ त्वा रथे हिरण्यये हरी मयूरशेप्या शितिपृष्ठा वहतां मध्वो अन्धसो विवक्षणस्य पीतये
Let your tawny horses with peacock-like tails and dappled backs draw you on the golden chariot for the drinking of the sweet pressed juice.
पिबा त्वास्य गिर्वणः सुतस्य पूर्वपा इव परिष्कृतस्य रसिन इयमासुतिश्चारुर्मदाय पत्यते
Drink of this pressed Soma, O lover of song, like one who drinks first, of the well-prepared, flowing draught; this outpouring is offered for your delight.
आ सोता परि षिञ्चताश्वं न स्तोममप्तुरं रजस्तुरम् वनप्रक्षमुदप्रुतम्
Let the pourers pour out the hymn like a swift horse, powerful, traversing the spaces, surging forth, breaking through the woods.
सहस्रधारं वृषभं पयोदुहं प्रियं देवाय जन्मने ऋतेन य ऋतजातो विवावृधे राजा देव ऋतं बृहत्
The thousand-streamed bull, the milk-giver, beloved for the birth of the gods, who grew by truth, born of truth, the king, the god, the great truth.
अग्निर्वृत्राणि जङ्घनद्द्रविणस्युर्विपन्यया समिद्धः शुक्र आहुतः
Agni has struck down the obstacles; the bringer of wealth, shining, kindled, bright, is invoked with skill.
गर्भे मातुः पितुष्पिता विदिद्युतानो अक्षरे सीदन्नृतस्य योनिमा
In the womb of mother and father, the father sits, flashing, in the imperishable, settling in the source of truth.
ब्रह्म प्रजावदा भर जातवेदो विचर्षणे अग्ने यद्दीदयद्दिवि
O Jātavedas, bring forth prayer rich in offspring, O wise Agni, as you shine in the sky.
अस्य प्रेषा हेमना पूयमानो देवो देवेभिः समपृक्त रसम् सुतः पवित्रं पर्येति रेभन्मितेव सद्म पशुमन्ति होता
His swift, golden, purified juice, pressed with the gods, circles the filter, resounding, like cattle in the house, the Hotṛ priest.
भद्रा वस्त्रा समन्या ऽ ऽ वसानो महान्कविर्निवचनानि शंसन् आ वच्यस्व चम्वोः पूयमानो विचक्षणो जागृविर्देववीतौ
Wearing auspicious garments together, the great sage, praising with words, let him be proclaimed, purified in the vessel, wise, ever watchful in the service of the gods.
समु प्रियो मृज्यते सानो अव्ये यशस्तरो यशसां क्षैतो अस्मे अभि स्वर धन्वा पूयमानो यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
Beloved, he is cleansed on the mountain slope, the most glorious among the glorious is established among us; purified, resound over the earth—may you always protect us with blessings.
एतो न्विन्द्रं स्तवाम शुद्धं शुद्धेन साम्ना शुद्धैरुक्थैर्वावृध्वांसं शुद्धैराशीर्वान्ममत्तु
Now let us praise Indra, pure, with pure song, with pure hymns, grown strong; let him accept pure blessings.
इन्द्र शुद्धो न आ गहि शुद्धः शुद्धाभिरूतिभिः शुद्धो रयिं नि धारय शुद्धो ममद्धि सोम्य
Indra, pure, come to us; pure, with pure aids; pure, bestow wealth; pure, delight in the Soma.
इन्द्र शुद्धो हि नो रयिं शुद्धो रत्नानि दाशुषे शुद्धो वृत्राणि जिघ्नसे शुद्धो वाजं सिषाससि
Indra, pure, indeed grant us wealth; pure, give treasures to the worshipper; pure, you strike down obstacles; pure, you seek the prize.
अग्ने स्तोमं मनामहे सिध्रमद्य दिविस्पृशः देवस्य द्रविणस्यवः
Agni, we desire the hymn, swift today, touching the sky, the favor of the god's wealth.
अग्निर्जुषत नो गिरो होता यो मानुषेष्वा स यक्षद्दैव्यं जनम्
May Agni accept our songs, he who is the priest among men; may he honor the divine assembly.
त्वमग्ने सप्रथा असि जुष्टो होता वरेण्यः त्वया यज्ञं वि तन्वते
O Agni, you are renowned, chosen as the worthy priest; through you, they spread the sacrifice.
अभि त्रिपृष्ठं वृषणं वयोधामाङ्गोषिणमवावशंत वाणीः वना वसानो वरुणो न सिन्धूर्वि रत्नधा दयते वार्याणि
The voices have praised the mighty, threefold, youthful one, shining, adorned with forests, like Varuṇa among rivers, who grants treasures and desirable gifts.
शूरग्रामः सर्ववीरः सहावान्जेता पवस्व सनिता धनानि तिग्मायुधः क्षिप्रधन्वा समत्स्वषाढः साह्वान्पृतनासु शत्रून्
O powerful leader, all-heroic, strong, victorious—flow forth, bring us wealth; sharp-armed, swift-bowed, conquer enemies in battles, mighty among warriors.
उरुगव्यूतिरभयानि कृण्वन्त्समीचीने आ पवस्वा पुरन्धी अपः सिषासन्नुषसः स्वार्गाः सं चिक्रदो महो अस्मभ्यं वाजान्
With wide protection, creating fearlessness, flow forth together, O Purandhi, seeking waters; dawns, heavenly, resound, grant us great prizes.
त्वमिन्द्र यशा अस्यृजीषी शवसस्पतिः त्वं वृत्राणि हंस्यप्रतीन्येक इत्पुर्वनुत्तश्चर्षणीधृतिः
You, Indra, are renowned, lord of strength; you alone destroy formidable foes, upholding the people, surpassing all in ancient deeds.
तमु त्वा नूनमसुर प्रचेतसं राधो भागमिवेमहे महीव कृत्तिः शरणा त इन्द्र प्र ते सुम्ना नो अश्नवन्
Now, O wise Asura, we seek you as our share of wealth, like a vast skin; Indra, let your favor reach us for shelter.
यजिष्ठं त्वा ववृमहे देवं देवत्रा होतारममर्त्यम् अस्य यज्ञस्य सुक्रतुम्
We have chosen you, the most worshipful god, as the immortal priest among the gods, wise in this sacrifice.
अपां नपातं सुभगं सुदीदितिमग्निमु श्रेष्ठशोचिषम् स नो मित्रस्य वरुणस्य सो अपामा सुम्नं यक्षते दिवि
To the offspring of waters, gracious, radiant Agni, of excellent flame, may he grant us the favor of Mitra and Varuṇa, and the blessing of the waters in heaven.
यमग्ने पृत्सु मर्त्यमवा वाजेषु यं जुनाः स यन्ता शश्वतीरिषः
O Agni, whom you protect among mortals in contests, whom you aid in prizes, he attains lasting riches.
न किरस्य सहन्त्य पर्येता कयस्य चित् वाजो अस्ति श्रवाय्यः
No one can withstand his strength or surpass him; even the least has a prize worthy of fame.
स वाजं विश्वचर्षणिरर्वद्भिरस्तु तरुता विप्रेभिरस्तु सनिता
May he, the prize, be won by all peoples with horses, may he be seized by sages, may he be the bringer of wealth.
साकमुक्षो मर्जयन्त स्वसारो दश धीरस्य धीतयो धनुत्रीः हरिः पर्यद्रवज्जाः सूर्यस्य द्रोणं ननक्षे अत्यो न वाजी
Together, the ten sisters, thoughts of the wise, cleanse; the bowstrings, the tawny one runs around the vessel of the sun, like a steed at the prize.
सं मातृभिर्न शिशुर्वावशानो वृषा दधन्वे पुरुवारो अद्भिः मर्यो न योषामभि निष्कृतं यन्त्सं गच्छते कलश उस्रियाभिः
Like a calf with its mothers, the mighty one, bearing many gifts, moves with waters; like a youth among women, he goes forth, the vessel with the cows.
उत प्र पिप्य ऊधरघ्न्याया इन्दुर्धाराभिः सचते सुमेधाः मूर्धानं गावः पयसा चमूष्वभि श्रीणन्ति वसुभिर्न निक्तैः
The wise Soma flows forth, joining with streams, filling the udder; cows sprinkle the head with milk in the vessels, as treasures are poured out.
पिबा सुतस्य रसिनो मत्स्वा न इन्द्र गोमतः आपिर्नो बोधि सधमाद्ये वृधे ऽस्मां अवन्तु ते धियः
Drink the pressed juice, delight in it, O Indra, rich in cows; be our ally in the shared feast, may your thoughts support us.
