Whoever invokes you, O Indra, with many offerings, to him your fierce might truly belongs.
When will Indra, indeed, strike down the lawless mortal as one crushes a clod with the foot? When will he listen to our songs?
The singers sing to you, the chanters praise you with hymns; the priests, O hundred-powered one, have yoked you like a horse to the post.
When you ascend from peak to peak, performing many wondrous deeds, then Indra perceives the aim, the bull moves with his troop.
Yoke your tawny, mighty steeds, O Indra, who bear you swiftly; then, O Soma-drinker, come to us, attend to the sound of our songs.
Well-kindled, bring here the gods, O Agni, for the one offering; O pure Hotar, accept the oblation.
Make for us today, O wise one, a sacrifice rich in sweetness for our bodies among the gods, for the invocation.
Here I call Narāśaṃsa, dear at this sacrifice, with honeyed tongue, for the prepared oblation.
O Agni, in the most pleasant chariot, bring the gods, praised, here; you are the Hotar established by Manu.
When today, at sunrise, Mitra, Aryaman, Savitar, and Bhaga, sinless, bestow their favor.
That destruction, O generous one, is truly mighty; may it come forth. Those who would cross over our distress, let them be overcome.
And Aditi, sovereign of the shining realm, unbroken in her vow, and those great kings who rule—may they protect us.
May the Somas gladden you; grant us your favor, O stone-wielder, and strike down those who hate the sacred word.
With your foot, drive away the stingy, O mighty one; for truly, no one can withstand you.
You are the lord of the pressed offerings, Indra, and of the unpressed as well; you are the king of peoples.
Awake, O inspired one, for the true thoughts; Soma, being purified, has entered the vessels. The priests, skilled and dexterous, pour him, as couples with desire.
He, being purified, is placed near the sun, embracing both heaven and earth. Even his beloveds, with dearest aid, do not withhold the wealth from the one who acts rightly.
That Soma, growing and being purified, rich in gifts, may he bring us light—where our forefathers, knowing the path and the sun, have gone forth, crossing the stone.
Speak not of anything else, O friends, nor falter; praise Indra, the mighty, together with the pressed Soma, and repeatedly utter hymns.
Like a young bull, powerful, who draws the cows, unconquered by men, who dispels hatred, brings together, benefits both sides, and is most mighty, victorious over both.
Those sweetest songs rise up, hymns of praise, like inexhaustible, wealth-bringing chariots of Satrājit.
Like the Kanvas, like the Bhṛgus, like the sun, all have sought the kindled flame. The eager ones, with hymns, magnified Indra; the Priyamedhas sang aloud.
May you, O Soma, move around the enemies for the gaining of strength, and overcome the obstacles; may you drive away the haters, as a debtor pays off his debt.
For you, O purified one, have indeed generated the sun by your power, and the flowing milk; hastening with the cows, with Purandhi.
We delight in you, O pressed Soma, in the great sovereignty of battle; O purified one, you rush forth to the prize.
Pour forth all around, O sweet Soma, for Indra, for Mitra, for Pūṣan, for Bhaga.
Thus, for the immortal, for the great dwelling, let that bright, heavenly, nourishing stream flow.
O Indra, may this pressed Soma be drunk by you, and by all the gods, for wisdom, for skill.
Like the rays of the sun, eager to disperse, the passions are born together and move as one; the threads are woven, the desires encircle, and without Indra, the vital energies do not move toward any abode.
The thought is drawn forth, poured out like honey; the deep-sounding one stirs within, and in the midst of the thunderbolt, the purifying one flows forth, sweet and exhilarating for those who press, sweeping away the covering.
